Lord, Give Me Yourself

Absalom dwelt two full years in Jerusalem and saw not the king's face, though the king was his own father. Are there not many in the kingdom of God who have no awareness of God, who seem not to know that they have the right to sit at the King's table and commune with the King? This is an evil which I have seen under the sun, and it is a hard and grievous burden.

To know God, this is eternal life; this is the purpose for which we are and were created. The destruction of our God-awareness was the master blow struck by Satan in the dark day of our transgression.

To give God back to us was the chief work of Christ in redemption. To impart Himself to us in personal experience is the first purpose of God in salvation. To bring acute God-awareness is the best help the Spirit brings in sanctification. All other steps in grace lead up to this.

Were we allowed but one request, we might gain at a stroke all things else by praying one all-embracing prayer: Thyself, Lord! Give me Thyself and I can want no more.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night...

Tonight I Pray that you learn to rest in the Presence of the Lord.  In this world where there are so many distractions that clamor for your attention. I pray you seek out His will for your life so that He can direct your steps. The Lord does His best work when we are spending time in His Presence.  Nothing should be more important than your time with Him. For it is when we entrust our concerns to the Lord that He will lighten our load and take them into His care and keeping.  I pray that as you spend time with Him, that He will renew your mind, body and spirit.  I pray that He fills you to overflowing with His Holy Spirit!!!  Be still and know that He is God, for as you wait in His Presence you will receive a most precious gift; His Perfect Peace!!!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen….  I Love You All!!!  God Bless you!!! ♥♥♥

God Is Looking for Intercessors
Then the Lord said, "I have seen how stubborn and rebellious these people are. Now leave me alone so my fierce anger can blaze against them, and I will destroy them. Then I will make you, Moses, into a great nation."
—Exodus 32:9–10

Moses had many frustrations with the Israelites. He had complained to God on multiple occasions about them. But when God told Moses that He was going to wipe them out, Moses pleaded with God to relent.

God never was going to wipe these people out; He was testing Moses to see whether he would learn what it meant to be an intercessor. Would Moses stand in the gap and pray for the people, or would he throw them under the bus?

In John's gospel we find someone who faced a similar test. A desperate father whose son was at death's door heard about Jesus, humbled himself, and bowed before the Lord, asking Him to touch his dear son. Jesus answered, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe" (John 4:48 NKJV).

What kind of thing is that to say to someone with a dying child? But just as God did with Moses, Jesus was testing this man. Really, He wasn't directing the words to the child's father at all. He was saying them to the fickle crowds who wanted to be impressed.

The man just stood there, patiently waiting for Jesus to finish His sermon. Then he came right back to Jesus and said, "Sir, come down before my child dies!" He was an intercessor praying for his son.

Jesus told him, "Go your way; your son lives."

He stood in the gap. He pressed on.

God is still looking for intercessors today. Sometimes we will pray for something, and we won't get an answer right away. So we think that God is obviously saying no. But maybe God wants you to step up your game. Maybe He wants you to pray a little bit more. Maybe He wants you to not give up so easily.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

Tonight I Pray you are constantly aware of HIS great Presence in your life.  I pray that you realize that He is the one that directs your steps if you will allow Him to. Hold tightly to His Hand and let Him lead you step by step through life.  I pray that you don’t worry about the uncertainty of the future, the secret things of the future belong to the Lord Jesus and as you trust in Him He will take them into His keeping and relieve you of the load that you carry.  I pray that you cast all your cares on Him for He cares for you.  Whenever you find yourself worrying about what is going to happen in the future, give it all up to Jesus and He will show you step by step the journey ahead.  Trust in Him to open the up the way before you as you walk in the light of His great love and unfailing grace.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen.  I Love You All!!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

A Crisis in Parenting

Parenting is some serious stuff. Someone once said that a parent is a partner with God in disciplining their children. Great way to look at it. But what happens when parents are passive and not involved with their children, when they don't take the time to understand their kids' world? Here we come to the detached parenting of the patriarch Jacob. Now, in some respects, Jacob knew his children: he knew that outwardly, they were corrupt and violent, as you'll see. But in many respects, he didn't know them at all.

This seemed to be a habit throughout Jacob's life. In Genesis 34, his only daughter, Dinah, was raped by a young man named Shechem. We don't know what Jacob's reaction was to this, but we do know what some of her brothers did: "Two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brothers, each took his sword and came boldly upon the city [of Shechem] and killed all the males" (v. 25). And what was dad's response to this? "Jacob said to Simeon and Levi, 'You have troubled me by making me obnoxious among the inhabitants of the land...and since I am few in number, they will gather themselves together against me and kill me. I shall be destroyed, my household and I'" (v. 30). His response showed a selfish, preoccupied father who, at most, rebuked his sons.

These same things were patterned out in his own children. When his ten sons were plotting how to get rid of Joseph in Genesis 37, Judah said, "What profit is there if we kill our brother and conceal his blood? Come and let us sell him to the Ishmaelites" (vv. 26-27). In other words, "Why kill him when we can make money off the deal?" Like father, like son: Jacob was a deceiver and did things for financial gain most of his life. Then there was Reuben: "Reuben returned to the pit, and indeed Joseph was not in the pit.... And he returned to his brothers and said, 'The lad is no more; and I, where shall I go?'" (vv. 29-30). He was concerned about himself—again, like father, like son.

So, what principles can we learn from Jacob's story? The first thing we can do is study our children. It is so easy to get out of touch with them, especially in our culture. And if that was a problem for Jacob in an agrarian society where he was supposedly home most of the time, how much more of a threat is it to us in our modern society? The Bible says that we are to train up a child in the way he should go (see Proverbs 22:6). To train is to mold a character, and to be able to mold a character, it takes studying that character.

The second thing we need to do is fight passivity and be involved. Passivity is one of the greatest enemies of parenting. If you are a passive parent, you are almost ensuring that your child will be insecure and angry. In the same way that faith without works is dead, parenting without involvement is dead. Fight passivity.

And finally, be a disciplined parent, and discipline your children. If you refuse to discipline your child, you will ruin them. There are parents who are petrified that if they discipline their child, the child will not love them, but there's nothing that could be further from the truth: "He who spares his rod hates his son, but he who loves him disciplines him promptly" (Proverbs 13:24; see also Proverbs 19:18; 22:15).

Jacob's sons turned out very much like he did. But his story doesn't have to be ours. I pray that God would make these principles real in our lives, that we would study our children, be involved with them, and discipline them as a gesture of our love. And remember: there is no such thing as a perfect parent. We all learn, make mistakes, and get tired along the way. Like Jacob, you can make a lot of mistakes and still have kids turn out as great as Joseph did.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I pray that You do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.  This is what the Lord asks us to do every day in His Word.  I pray that you come to the Lord for understanding because He knows you better than you know yourself. He knows what you are feeling, and what you are thinking.  There is not one part of you that is hidden from HIS view. Yet, many of us have a hard time being obedient to His Word.  Stop trying to be good enough for His love. Don’t allow your fallen body and mind lead you away from what the Lord has planned for you!!  I pray that every time you begin to worry about tomorrow, you will focus your thoughts on the Lord.  Come into His Presence where you can delight in His unmerited Love. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen!!! I Love you all…  God bless you!!! ♥♥

Are All Sins the Same?
Now it came to pass on the next day that Moses said to the people, "You have committed a great sin."  —Exodus 32:30

Are some sins greater, or worse, than others? Our knee-jerk reaction might be that all sin is the same. But actually that is not true. All sin is not the same. According to the Scriptures, some sins are more offensive to God than other sins are.

Now in a broad sense, all sin is wrong, from the smallest infraction to the grossest, outright sin. It all separates us from God. Even one sin can separate us from God. Jesus made this clear in the Sermon on the Mount when He pointed out that lusting is as bad as committing adultery, and hating is as bad as murdering.

In one sense, adultery and lust are the same. But in another sense, they are different. In one sense, murder and hate are the same thing. But in another sense, they are different. Some sins have greater ramifications than others, but all sin separates us from God.

Jesus said to Pontius Pilate, "You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin" (John 19:11).

I think Jesus was referring here to either Caiaphas or Judas. Caiaphas was the high priest, the man who represented God and was supposed to be close to God. Judas was one of the handpicked disciples of the Lord. So if Jesus was referring to them, it really was, in effect, the same sin they would have committed. And what was this "greater sin"? It was sinning when they knew better.

The worst sin people can commit, the unforgivable sin, is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit, which is the outright rejection of Christ. And as Hebrews 2:3 says, "How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?"

While you worship Him in all things the warm light of hope will come alive within you!!!   Stand on that hope in Him!!! MEDIOCRE CHRISTIANITY

Read your New Testament again and you will agree that mediocrity in the Christian life is not the highest that Jesus offers. Certainly God is not honored by our arrested spiritual development - our permanent half-way spiritual condition. We all know that the Bible tells us that we honor God by going on to full maturity in Christ! Why, then, do we settle for those little pleasures that tickle the saintlets and charm the fancy of the carnal? It is because we once heard a call to take up the cross and instead of following toward the heights, we bargained with the Lord like a street huckster! We felt an urge to be spent for Christ, but instead of going on, we started asking questions. We began to bicker and bargain with God about His standards for spiritual attainment. This is plain truth-not about unbelieving "liberals"-but about those who have been born again and who dare to ask, "Lord, what will it cost me?"

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

Tonight I Pray that you have the desire to seek out the Lord and delight in spending time with Him!  Realize like Mary did that there is great importance in just sitting at the feet of Jesus. When we wait upon Him, He will lead us where He wants us to be.  I pray that you know that you have the Creator of the universe as your Lord and He loves you! What more could you need?  I pray that you realize that it is when you are not connecting with Him at a deep level that you have a lack in your life and walk with Him.  Our part in this life is to learn to put all of our trust into Him, refusing to worry about anything! I pray that you will forget what is behind you and press on to what is ahead the prize which God has called us heavenward in Jesus Christ!!!  Walk In HIS LIGHT!!!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I love you all!!!  God bless you!!! ♥♥♥

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night...

Tonight I Pray that you get a real hunger for the Word of God so that your faith will increase and you will realize that anxiety is the result of envisioning a future where you are without the Lord Jesus.  The best way to stop this anxiety is to spend time in prayer with the Lord and to be in HIS Word.  We are so fortunate to have a completed Bible to lead us in these last days.  It is our handbook for living and we should never be without it.  I pray that you speak to the Lord and let Him know your cares and your worries and then listen for His voice as He leads you.  Never forget that He promised us that He would never leave us or forsake us.  I pray that you stand on that faith knowing that sitting in HIS Presence outshines anything that you will ever find in this world.  Bask in the warmth of His light!!! In Jesus name I Pray, Amen and Amen!!!  I Love You!!!  God Bless You All!!!♥♥♥

Word of the Day... February 20, 2016....

What Coveting Is—and Isn't
"You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's."
—Exodus 20:17

"You shall not covet" is probably one of the most misunderstood of the Ten Commandments. Coveting isn't simply desiring something. Nor is it simply admiring something that we don't have. To covet is to become devoured by desire for something. And many times, it's something that isn't yours to have.

The word for covet is also translated "to pant after." Think of a wolf that has gotten a taste for blood and is out there pursuing his prey, panting after it. That wolf will not rest until he catches his prey, kills it, and eats it.

That is what coveting is. How does it work? You become obsessed with something. First the eyes look at the object, the mind admires it, and the will goes over to it. Lastly, the body moves in to possess it. One thing leads to another.

Judas Iscariot effectively threw his life away for thirty pieces of silver when he betrayed the Lord. We are told in 1 Timothy 6:10, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." That verse is often quoted as "Money is the root of all evil," but the Bible says no such thing. The love of money is the root of all kinds evil. It doesn't mean that it's bad to want some money. But it becomes a problem when we covet, or pant after, it.

Some people covet throughout their lives. They become obsessed with certain things and will make any sacrifice to get what they want. It may be a person. It may be an object. It may be a position. Whatever it takes, they are determined to get it. And it can destroy them.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I PRAY that you refuse to worry! In this world there'll always be something enticing you to worry. That is the nature of this fallen world that we live in. Things are not as they should be. So the temptation to be anxious is constantly with you, trying to worm its way into your mind. I pray you realize the best defense is continual communication with the Lord, richly seasoned with Thanksgiving. I pray that you stay aware of HIS PRESENCE, allowing Him to fill your mind with His Light and Peace, leaving no room for fear. I pray this awareness lifts you above your circumstances, enabling you to see problems from HIS perspective. For when you do this with HIM you can keep the wolves of worry at bay.  I pray that you never forget WHO lives within you. He can bring order to your day and help you to control your thoughts and actions.  You only need to make the choice of how much of Him you want in your day…   In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love You All!!!  God bless you!!! ♥♥♥

THE LORD OF ALL BEAUTY

Think with me about beauty-and about this matchless One who is the Lord of all beauty, our Savior! God has surely deposited something within our human beings that is capable of understanding and appreciating beauty - the love of harmonious forms, appreciation of colors and beautiful sounds. Brother, these are only the external counterparts of a deeper and more enduring beauty-that which we call moral beauty. It has been the uniqueness and the perfection of Christ's moral beauty that have charmed even those who claimed to be His enemies throughout the centuries of history. We do not have any record of Hitler saying anything against the moral perfection of Jesus. One of the great philosophers, Nietzsche, objected to Paul's theology of justification by faith, but he was strangely moved within himself by the perfection of moral beauty found in the life and character of Jesus, the Christ. We should thank God for the promise of heaven being the place of supreme beauty-and the One who is all-beautiful is there!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

Tonight I pray that Jesus comfort and guide you through your days and nights.  Do not let the trappings of this sinful world lead you into a life of bitterness, greed and jealousy.  Instead, keep your eyes on God and His wonders and mercies that endure forever. Remember that you are saved by His grace, by His blood and that is a gift that none of us deserved but were given anyway.  God’s riches at Christ expense has nothing to do with living your best life now or being rich in this world.  God’s riches exist in the pure agape love He has for each and every one of us.  Do not worry about the riches of this world, instead do as God calls us to do and store up your treasures in heaven!  Bitterness and greed sow seeds of hate and spite.  It will rot you from the inside out.  I pray that you realize that HIS ways are better than ours and stop trying to figure out what is happening and simply trust in Him and thank Him in advance for all of the good that will come out of it in the end.  For He knows the plans He has for you and they are good.  In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen and Amen….  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!  ♥♥

Favoritism

There is an evil which I have seen under the sun--one that grows and does not diminish. And it is all the more dangerous because it is done without evil aforethought but, as it were, carelessly and without wrong intent.

It is the evil of giving to them that have and withholding from them that have not. It is the evil of blessing with a loud voice them that are already blessed and letting the unblessed and the outcast lie forgotten.

Let a man appear in a local Christian fellowship and let him be one whose fame is bruited abroad, whose presence will add something to the one who entertains him, and immediately a score of homes will be thrown open and every eager hospitality will be extended to him. But the obscure and the unknown must be content to sit on the fringes of the Christian circle and not once be invited into any home.

This is a great evil and an iniquity that awaits the judgment of the great day. And it is so widespread that scarcely any of us can claim to be free from it. So we condemn it only with utter humility and with acknowledgment that we too have been in some measure guilty.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

TONIGHT I PRAY that you will rejoice and be thankful to the Lord for all that He has blessed you with!!! That you never put the love of money or earthly treasures above Him, instead store up your treasures in heaven. To have an authentic walk with God so that you will do what is Godly instead of what is evil. That as you walk with the Lord through this day, practice trusting and thanking Him all along the way. For it is when we trust in Him that His peace will flow into us. Thankfulness lifts you up above your circumstances. I pray you realize that He does His greatest works through people with grateful, trusting hearts. Rather than planning and evaluating, practice trusting and thanking the Lord continually. I pray that as you rest in the Lord Jesus, a shift will take place that will revolutionize your life. Walk in that faith! Walk in that trust!!! In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen. I love you all! God bless your sweet hearts!!!!♥♥

A MAN SENT FROM GOD

The Bible record is very plain when it assures us that John the Baptist was a man sent from God. Our generation would probably decide that such a man ought to be downright proud of the fact that God had sent him. We would urge him to write a book. Seminary leaders would line up to schedule him as guest lecturer. Actually, John the Baptist would never have fit into the contemporary religious scene in our day - never! He did not keep his suit pressed. He was not careful about choosing words that would not offend. He did not quote beautiful passages from the poets. The doctors of psychiatry would have quick advice for him: "John, you really need to get adjusted to the times and to society!" "Adjust"-that is a modern word I have come to hate. It was never an expression used to speak about human beings until we forgot that man has a soul. Now we have weird guys with mental "screwdrivers" adjusting one person a little tighter and another a little looser. John needed no adjustment. He gladly stepped down, so that all eyes could turn to Jesus, the Lamb of God!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

Tonight I pray that you will delight in doing the Lord’s will.  That His law will be in your heart.  That you will relate to others through HIS Love rather than your own so that they will; see HIS light shining through you and want what you have.  I pray that you realize that He is training you to be steady as you walk with Him day by day and as you listen to Him continually and trust Him for everything He will lead you where He wants you to be and you will no longer have to make things fit your plans, for you will be in His will and way for your life!!  For it was God who commanded the light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.  As we look to Him for every part of our life, His Spirit will fill us with His great Love and His Peace that passes all understanding. Stand on that faith!!!  In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen and Amen!!  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

In Rhythm with God
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
—Genesis 6:8

A jeweler will display a ring or a fine piece of jewelry against a dark backdrop so that our eyes are automatically drawn to it. And that is what Noah was like against the dark backdrop of wickedness in his day. He was a rare jewel, a radiant light in a very dark place. The Bible tells us that "Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord" (Genesis 6:8), which means that God extended grace toward him.

The Bible also tells us that "Noah walked with God." (verse 9). That is said of only two people in the Scriptures: Enoch and Noah. So what does it mean to walk with God? Amos 3:3 gives us insight into this: "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" The idea is to move in rhythm with someone. If you take a walk with someone, you have to keep pace with that person. When I walk with my grandchildren, for example, I can't walk at my normal speed. I slow down.

The idea of walking with God is that we are not running and dragging God along, and neither is God running and dragging us along. Rather, we are to get in rhythm with God. The objective is to get in synch with Him, not try to get Him in synch with us.

I remember a time when I went scuba diving and ended up using too much of my air. So I had to use the extra regulator hanging from the instructor's tank, and from that point on, I had to go wherever he went. I could either stay in rhythm with my instructor and live, or break free and die. So I stayed in rhythm with him.

That is the idea of walking with God. And Noah walked with God.

Mortimer Mouse?
"'As for Mephibosheth,' said the king, 'he shall eat at my table like one of the king's sons.'"
—2 Samuel 9:11

Maybe you have had some serious setbacks in life. As a child, you were mistreated, neglected, abused, or even forgotten. You, like so many kids today, were just left to yourself. Maybe people haven't given you much hope; you've been written off by your parents and teachers.

The Bible tells the story of a young man named Mephibosheth, who literally was dropped in life (2 Samuel 9). His grandfather was King Saul and his father was Prince Jonathan. After they had been killed in battle, in her haste to hide him, his nurse dropped little Mephibosheth, who was only five, and as a result he lost the use of his legs.

She feared that the king-elect, David, would seek him out and kill him, as was the custom of kings of that time. But later King David, who ascended to the throne, sought Mephibosheth out and welcomed him as a member of his own family to live in the palace.

It reminds us of how Jesus reached out to us and calls us to be a part of His family. I have some good news for you today! God specializes in taking people who have been "dropped in life" and picking them back up again!

I read about how as a young man Walt Disney was fired from a newspaper. When Disney asked why, they responded, "Walt, you're not creative enough. You never have any new ideas. We're sorry, but we're going to have to let you go." Disney got dropped in life.

So, he moved to California, borrowed $500 and started a graphic arts company. Shortly after, he came up with a little character he named Mortimer Mouse, later to become Mickey Mouse, and the rest is history.

You can't control what happens to you in life. But you have everything to say about how you react. Perhaps that setback in life can help you move forward like never before.

Man - The Dwelling Place of God - The Cure for a Fretful Spirit
THE HOLY SPIRIT IN Psalms 37 admonishes us to beware of irritation in our religious lives:

"Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity."

The word "fret" comes to us from the Anglo-Saxon and carries with it such a variety of meanings as bring a rather pained smile to our faces. Notice how they expose us and locate us behind our disguises. The primary meaning of the word is to eat, and from there it has been extended with rare honesty to cover most of the manifestations of an irritable disposition. "To eat away; to gnaw; to chafe; to gall; to vex; to worry; to agitate; to wear away"; so says Webster, and all who have felt the exhausting, corrosive effects of fretfulness know how accurately the description fits the facts.

Now, the grace of God in the human heart works to calm the agitation that normally accompanies life in such a world as ours. The Holy Spirit acts as a lubricant to reduce the friction to a minimum and to stop the fretting and chafing in their grosser phases. But for most of us the problem is not as simple as that.

Fretfulness may be trimmed down to the ground and its roots remain alive deep within the soul, there growing and extending themselves all unsuspected, sending up their old poisonous shoots under other names and other appearances.

It was not to the unregenerate that the words "Fret not" were spoken, but to God-fearing persons capable of understanding spiritual things. We Christians need to watch and pray lest we fall into this temptation and spoil our Christian testimony by an irritable spirit under the stress and strain of life.

It requires great care and a true knowledge of ourselves to distinguish a spiritual burden from religious irritation. We cannot close our minds to everything that is happening around us. We dare not rest at ease in Zion when the church is so desperately in need of spiritually sensitive men and women who can see her faults and try to call her back to the path of righteousness. The prophets and apostles of Bible times carried in their hearts such crushing burdens for God's wayward people that they could say, "Tears have been my meat day and night," and "Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain. of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain daughter of my people!" These men were heavy with a true burden. What they felt was not vexation but acute concern for the honor of God and the souls of men.

By nature some persons fret easily. They have difficulty separating their personal antipathies from the burden of the Spirit. When they are grieved they can hardly say whether it is a pure and charitable thing or merely irritation set up by other Christians having opinions different from their own.

Of one thing we may be sure, we can never escape the external stimuli that cause vexation. The world is full of them and though we were to retreat to a cave and live the remainder of our days alone we still could not lose them. The rough floor of our cave would chafe us, the weather would irritate us and the very silence would cause us to fret.

Deliverance from a fretting spirit may be by blood and fire, by humility, self-abnegation and a patient carrying of the cross. There will always be "evildoers" and "workers of iniquity," and for the most part they will appear to succeed while the forces of righteousness will seem to fail. The wicked will always have the money and the talent and the publicity and the numbers, while the righteous will be few and poor and unknown. The prayerless Christian will surely misread the signs and fret against the circumstances. That is what the Spirit warns us against.

Let us look out calmly upon the world; or better yet, let us look down upon it from above where Christ is seated and we are seated in Him. Though the wicked spread himself like "a green bay tree" it is only for a moment. Soon he passes away and is not. "But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble." This knowledge should cure the fretting spirit.

Tonight I Pray that you realize that we can come to the Lord with a thankful heart even in the midst of tribulation and sorrow.  That we can face our trials with a power that others do not have…  The power of the Lord God!!! I pray that as we face those oncoming storms that we lean closer into Him so that He can help us to navigate our way through the storm. For it is when we put our trust in Him, we have the assurance that He will help us to endure the trial before us and discern His purpose for it so that we can grow into a more intimate walk with Him.  I pray that each of us can be like the eagle who has the ability to lock its joints and soar effortlessly on the updraft, instead of flapping his wings.  I pray that as we wait upon the Lord, that He will help us to use the winds of adversity to soar above our problems.  After all, God promises “Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; and mount up with wings like eagles” In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love you all!!!  God bless You!!! ♥♥♥

FAITHFUL STEWARDSHIP

God has been pleased to deal with us in a most remarkable way concerning our Christian stewardship and responsibility of honoring Him with the things He has entrusted to us. The Bible teaching is plain: you have the right to keep what you have all to yourself-but it will then rust and decay, and ultimately ruin you! This may hurt some of you but I am obliged to tell you that God does not need anything you have! He does not need a dime of your money! What you need to understand is that it is your own spiritual welfare at stake in such matters as this. There is a beautiful and enriching principle involved in our offering to God what we are and what we have, but none of us are giving because there is a depression in heaven! A long time ago God said: "If I had need of anything, would I tell you?" Brethren, if the living God had need of anything, He would no longer be God!

CONFUSED ABOUT WORSHIP

To really know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord is to love and worship Him! As God's people, we are so often confused that we could be known as God's poor, stumbling, bumbling people, for we are most prone to think of worship as something we do when we go to church on Sunday! We call it God's house. We have dedicated it to Him. So, we continue with the confused idea that it must be the only place where we can worship Him. We come to the Lord's house, made of brick and stone and wood. We are used to hearing the call to worship: "The Lord is in His holy temple-let us kneel before Him!" This is on Sunday and in church-very nice! But on Monday, as we go about our different duties, are we aware of the continuing Presence of God? The Lord desires still to be in His holy temple, wherever we are; for each of us is a temple in whom dwells the Holy Spirit of God!

Tonight I Pray that you take everything to the Lord in prayer.  He is working on our behalf and truly cares about our concerns.  He is a Lord that counts our tears and that is just how much He truly loves us.  I pray that you feel the warmth and security of Him taking care of you on this night. I pray that you put all of your trust in Him and I pray that you get a real hunger for His Word so that you will grow into a more intimate walk with Him.  I pray that you stop trying to do things under your own power and release every part of your life to Him.   For it is when you give everything to the Lord you are released to fall back into the security of His everlasting arms.  Stand on that faith in the Lord and allow Him to teach you His ways.  For when you take the time to search Him out through prayer and His Word He will be found by you and there is no greater treasure than that!!! In Jesus name I Pray, Amen and Amen…  I love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!♥♥♥

Man - The Dwelling Place of God - The Importance of Sound Doctrine

IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE to overemphasize the importance of sound doctrine in the life of a Christian. Right thinking about all spiritual matters is imperative if we would have right living. As men do not gather grapes of thorns nor figs of thistles, sound character does not grow out of unsound teaching.

The word doctrine means simply religious beliefs held and taught. It is the sacred task of all Christians, first as believers and then as teachers of religious beliefs, to be certain that these beliefs correspond exactly to truth. A precise agreement between belief and fact constitutes soundness in doctrine. We cannot afford to have less.

The apostles not only taught truth but contended for its purity against any who would corrupt it. The Pauline epistles resist every effort of false teachers to introduce doctrinal vagaries. John's epistles are sharp with condemnation of those teachers who harassed the young church by denying the incarnation and throwing doubts upon the doctrine of the Trinity; and Jude in his brief but powerful epistle rises to heights of burning eloquence as he pours scorn upon evil teachers who would mislead the saints.

Each generation of Christians must look to its beliefs. While truth itself is unchanging, the minds of men are porous vessels out of which truth can leak and into which error may seep to dilute the truth they contain. The human heart is heretical by nature and runs to error as naturally as a garden to weeds. All a man, a church or a denomination needs to guarantee deterioration of doctrine is to take everything for granted and do nothing. The unattended garden will soon be overrun with weeds; the heart that fails to cultivate truth and root out error will shortly be a theological wilderness; the church or denomination that grows careless on the highway of truth will before long find itself astray, bogged down in some mud flat from which there is no escape.

In every field of human thought and activity accuracy is considered a virtue. To err ever so slightly is to invite serious loss, if not death itself. Only in religious thought is faithfulness to truth looked upon as a fault. When men deal with things earthly and temporal they demand truth; when they come to the consideration of things heavenly and eternal they hedge and hesitate as if truth either could not be discovered or didn't matter anyway.

Montaigne said that a liar is one who is brave toward God and a coward toward men; for a liar faces God and shrinks from men. Is this not simply a proof of unbelief? Is it not to say that the liar believes in men but is not convinced of the existence of God, and is willing to risk the displeasure of a God who may not exist rather than that of man who obviously does?

I think also that deep, basic unbelief is back of human carelessness in religion. The scientist, the physician, the navigator deals with matters he knows are real; and because these things are real the world demands that both teacher and practitioner be skilled in the knowledge of them. The teacher of spiritual things only is required to be unsure in his beliefs, ambiguous in his remarks and tolerant of every religious opinion expressed by anyone, even by the man least qualified to hold an opinion.

Haziness of doctrine has always been the mark of the liberal. When the Holy Scriptures are rejected as the final authority on religious belief something must be found to take their place. Historically that something has been either reason or sentiment: if sentiment, it has been humanism. Sometimes there has been an admixture of the two, as may be seen in liberal churches today. These will not quite give up the Bible, neither will they quite believe it; the result is an unclear body of beliefs more like a fog than a mountain, where anything may be true but nothing may be trusted as being certainly true.

We have gotten accustomed to the blurred puffs of gray fog that pass for doctrine in modernistic churches and expect nothing better, but it is a cause for real alarm that the fog has begun of late to creep into many evangelical churches. From some previously unimpeachable sources are now coming vague statements consisting of a milky admixture of Scripture, science and human sentiment that is true to none of its ingredients because each one works to cancel the others out.

Certain of our evangelical brethren appear to be laboring under the impression that they are advanced thinkers because they are rethinking evolution and reevaluating various Bible doctrines or even divine inspiration itself; but so far are they from being advanced thinkers that they are merely timid followers of modernism-fifty years behind the parade.

Little by little evangelical Christians these days are being brainwashed. One evidence is that increasing numbers of them are becoming ashamed to be found unequivocally on the side of truth. They say they believe but their beliefs have been so diluted as to be impossible of clear definition.

Moral power has always accompanied definitive beliefs. Great saints have always been dogmatic. We need right now a return to a gentle dogmatism that smiles while it stands stubborn and firm on the Word of God that liveth and abideth forever.

What Grieves God
"And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart."
—Genesis 6:6

One day the Lord's disciples came to Him with this question: "What will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?" (Matthew 24:3).

Jesus answered, "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be" (verses 37–39).

In this significant statement, Jesus not only was verifying the historicity of the Flood spoken of in Genesis, but He also was encouraging us to look carefully at the way things were before the Flood came, because these are characteristics that will be prevalent in the time before He comes again.

There are some striking parallels between Noah's time and our time. Noah was living in his last days. He was living in a time right before judgment came in the form of the Flood. And we are living in the last days, the time before the judgment that will come during the Great Tribulation.

As Genesis 6 opens, things had gone from bad to worse on Planet Earth. The Bible tells us, "Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart" (verses 5–6).

God was grieved that His creation was living that way. This shows the heartache of God over the rebellion and wickedness of men and women.
