Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…




TONIGHT I PRAY that you worship the Lord Jesus continually.  I pray that you dwell in the beauty of His holiness. I pray that you appreciate the beauty that our Father has made for us all to admire and enjoy.  A beautiful rose a glorious sunset or the dynamic splendor of the oceans. Some people just rush past them never giving the Lord a thought or thank Him for all of the beauty He has gifted us with on this earth…  I pray that you proclaim HIS splendor in our world and the glory of HIS creation. Trust the Lord with all of your thoughts and prayers and never drift away from Him in these last days.  Keep your heart open to the Holy Spirit and when He warns you that you are slipping away from Him hold even tighter to His hand.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen and Amen… I Love you!!!   God bless you all!!!  ♥♥♥

We don't know how long Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden before temptation came. The Devil had heard God's warning to Adam: "You may freely eat the fruit of every tree in the garden—except the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. If you eat its fruit, you are sure to die" (Genesis 2:16–17). The way the text in Genesis unfolds, it almost appears as though Satan came immediately with his temptation.

It reminds me of the parable of the sower in Matthew 13, where Jesus talked about a sower who went out and scattered seed, and some seed fell on the roadside, where the birds came and quickly ate it.

We all know what that is like. Have you ever dropped a French fry outside McDonald's? Birds suddenly appear out of nowhere. Then there are the seagulls at the beach that fly off with your lunch or your children or your very small dog.

Jesus said, "When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart" (verse 19). That is why we need to pray for people who have just come to Christ, because the Devil will be there with temptation, with doubt, and with an onslaught of other things.

This reminds us that whenever God is blessing, expect the Devil to be opposing—immediately. He isn't going to wait for a year. He isn't going to wait for a month. He may not even wait for an hour.

You can be walking out of church when temptation suddenly comes. You think, What is with that? The fact is that Satan wants to undermine what just happened in your life. He opposes immediately. He always will.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..




TONIGHT I PRAY that you realize just how much Jesus loves you!!!  I pray that you keep your eyes focused on Him so that when the waves of adversity roll over you and you are tempted to give up you won’t. As your circumstances consume more and more of your attention, and you are losing sight of Him, reach out for HIS hand instead.  He is right there beside you. He is fully aware of your situation, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you were able to bear. Call out to Him...  “Jesus help me.” And He will.  He will never leave you or forsake you. Don’t be afraid to put all of your trust in HIM…  Stand on that faith!!! I pray that He give you a real hunger for the Word of God so that you can grow in His Word, Will and Way for your life. In Jesus name we pray, Amen and Amen... I love you all!!!  God bless you!!!

Worshipful Thinking

Man is a worshiper and only in the spirit of worship does he find release for all the powers of his amazing intellect. A religious writer has warned us that it may be fatal to trust to the squirrel-work of the industrious brain rather than to the piercing vision of the desirous heart. The Greek church father, Nicephorus, taught that we should learn to think with our heart. Force your mind to descend into the heart, he says, and to remain there. . . . When you thus enter into the place of the heart give thanks to God and, praising His mercy, keep always to this doing, and it will teach you things which in no other way will you ever learn. 

A religious mentality characterized by timidity and lack of moral courage has given us to a flabby Christianity, intellectually impoverished, dull, repetitious and to a great many persons just plain boring. This is peddled as the very faith of our fathers in direct lineal descent from Christ and the apostles. We spoon-feed this insipid pabulum to our inquiring youth and, to make it palatable, spice it up with carnal amusements filched from the unbelieving world. 

It is easier to entertain than to instruct, it is easier to follow degenerate public taste than to think for oneself, so too many of our evangelical leaders let their minds atrophy while they keep their fingers nimble operating religious gimmicks to bring in the curious crowds. Christianity must embrace the total personality and command every atom of the redeemed being. Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..



I Pray TONIGHT that you learn to live with deep dependence on the Lord Jesus…. Realizing that true dependence is not simply asking the Lord to bless what you have decided to do. It is coming to Him with an open mind and an open heart inviting Him to plant His desires within you. I pray that He infuses within you a dream that seems far beyond your reach. I pray that this will begin your journey of profound reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a faith walk, taken one step at a time, leaning on Him as much as you need. This is not a path of continual success but of multiple failures. However, each failure is followed by of growth spurt, nourished by increased reliance on Him. Enjoy the blessedness of a victorious life, through deepening your dependence on Him alone.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

My God Is Bigger than Your God

When I was a kid, my friends and I would say things like, "My dad's bigger than your dad," and we'd banter back and forth. David essentially did the same thing: in the Psalms, he frequently declared that in comparison to any other gods, his God—Yahweh—was bigger.

Just how big and powerful is God? Well, He's powerful enough to create everything in the universe and big enough to care for everything in your life. It's good to get a refresher about the awesomeness and magnitude of God. Looking specifically at Psalm 139:13-18, let's consider three things David told us about the greatness of God.

First, God's work is marvelous: "Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well" (v. 14). God is not weak; He operates at full power. Do you know that? Do you really know that your God can do everything? If you do, why not learn to say that more often? As you go through your day and notice the work of God, why not pause to actually articulate that? "Marvelous are Your works." I think if we learn to praise the Lord on a daily basis, it keeps our hearts soft.

The second thing David would have us know is that God's workmanship is meticulous. "For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made" (vv. 13-14). It's interesting to me that of all the examples in creation David could have used to show how big and great and powerful God is, he didn't go to the stars or the heavens. Rather, he pointed inward to the dark womb holding a developing child.

Let's follow it through: "My frame was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were none of them" (vv. 15-16). A lot of people in our culture aren't really happy with their body, but David would say that you are marvelous. And you are—you're the crown of God's creative genius. You were once a speck, then you became an embryo and later on a fetus. And then you were born and grew and developed, and here you are today. David's point is that God has been superintending your development since those early stages, and it's not going to stop now.

This leads to the third great truth: God's wisdom is matchless wisdom: "How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You" (vv. 17-18). What stirred David more than his knowledge of God was God's knowledge and care of him.

I'll tell you what this truth has done for me. Number one, it produces a sense of purpose. Knowing that this incredible God superintended your development and watches over you now should fill you with a sense of purpose. Number two, it fills me with faith, because if God's that big and that powerful and that meticulous, He knows my need right now, and I can trust every bit of my life, my future, my misery, and my problems to Him. Third, this fills me with a sense of responsibility. If God does have a purpose and I can trust Him with everything, then I want to make sure I understand what His will is for my life and walk in it every day.

So, how big is your God? How powerful is your God? Is He big enough to take care of everything and anything in your life? I PRAY TONIGHT that you realize that the Lord chose you before the foundation of the world, to walk with Him!! I pray that you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in this walk so that you will stay on the path that the Lord has planned for you.  I pray that you trust in Him that His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. To trust His promise that He will never leave or forsake you. I pray that His Peace and Wisdom, will cover your heart, soul and mind! I pray that all adversity will be converted to triumph in your life for the glory of God! I pray that the Lord will enable you to hear His direction clearly! NO MORE CONFUSION... You WILL walk in clarity!!! Through one man’s (Adam) sin, we all became sinful; however, through one man’s (Jesus) act of righteousness, we all have right standing with God (Romans 5:12-20). The Barrenness of Busyness

Satan's distracting words often come from the most unexpected quarters. Martha would call Mary away from sitting at the feet of the Master. Sometimes, if we are not careful, our best friend may distract us. Or it might be some very legitimate activity. This day's bustle and hurly-burly would too often and too soon call us away from Jesus' feet. These distractions must be immediately dismissed, or we shall know only the "barrenness of busyness." 

The multiplying agencies and the extraneous activities of much of the current gospel "programming" may distract us if we are not wary and lead us into some meandering by-path that comes to a dead end. Our genius is preserved by sticking at the task of worldwide evangelization that God has called us to by the tried and proven methods that God has blessed, thereby avoiding the slough of an effete denominationalism on the one hand and unproductive, fevered activity on the other.

Tonight I Pray that you remember that the Lord is your lamp and that He will turn your darkness into light!!! With His help you can advance against anything!  Trust in Him and do not be afraid. For He knows your capabilities and if you allow Him to He will help you to become all that He created you to be!!! You can withdraw from Him into the darkness and denial or you can come into the radiance His Presence!!!  If you face you sin head on with Him, it will lose its grip upon you. I pray that you realize what it means to have Him as your strength and your song.  I pray that you share His joy by living in His Presence and rejoice in the journey with Him as you walk towards heaven singing His Song!!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen. Count the Cost
"But don't begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it?"

It isn't easy to be a Christian—that is, a committed, growing Christian. It costs to follow Jesus. But it costs a lot more not to.

Jesus said to His disciples, "If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you" (Luke 15:18–19).

This is hard to accept if you have been a popular person throughout your life and then become a Christian. You try to be loving and compassionate and helpful, and then people find out that you're a Christian. So they give you a difficult time or make fun of you or spread lies about you. You think, This isn't fair. I am so sweet and nice. Maybe you are. But the fact is that now you are a representative of Jesus. And effectively you will be treated as He was treated. The Bible says, "Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution" (2 Timothy 3:12).

You don't want to decide to follow Jesus on a whim, like making an impulse purchase at the store. Retailers count on you to think, Look at all this stuff! I don't even know what this is, but I'm buying it.

When you decide to follow Christ, however, you need to count the cost. Jesus counted the cost when He went to the cross for you. He gave His life so you can be forgiven of your sin, so you can know that you will go to heaven when you die. 

He counted the cost for you. Will you count the cost and follow Him?

I Pray TONIGHT that the glory of God cover every aspect of your life - that you do not love the things of this world but put all of your trust in Him alone!!  I pray that when things don’t go your way that you realize you have the Creator of the Universe with you and for you!!!   Whenever you feel that something is lacking in your life it is most likely because you are not connecting with Jesus on a deeper level. I pray that you hear Him call your name and that you respond to His voice! Run into the light of His Presence and Walk through your day with Jesus!!!  See people through His eyes and relate to others with His love rather than your own. A Fresh Start
Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.  Lamentations 3:21–23

Starting over. It’s the second chance we didn’t think we’d have. It’s a wave of relief that washes over our past mistakes. It is a gift from God we don’t deserve.

In the book of Lamentations, the prophet Jeremiah looks back at the destruction of Jerusalem. God promised that his people would face punishment for their sinful choices, and he was true to his word. Their city had been ravaged, and they were now living in exile. The temple was completely destroyed.

In the midst of Jeremiah’s lament, however, he remembers the mercy of God. Were it not for God’s mercy, every one of God’s people would have perished. The judgment on them was painful, but God would not leave them ruined. Eventually, after they acknowledged their disobedience and confessed their sin, God would forgive and restore them. He would allow them to start over once more. And he does the same for us.

Maybe you have experienced the discipline of God in your own life. You have suffered painful consequences for sinful choices you have made. Perhaps you feel that God has left you there. If so, remember that although God is just, he is also full of mercy. His compassions never fail. He promises to forgive us when we come to him and confess what we have done or not done. No matter how you have offended God, you can have hope because of his great mercy. You can always have a fresh start with him because his compassions are “new every morning.”

Take some time to thank God for the specific ways he has acted mercifully toward you. Thank him for forgiving your sin. Express gratitude to him for actively restoring you. You may even want to sing or pray the words to the hymn, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”

Tonight I Pray that you come to the realization that our Lord Jesus will never leave us.  When He ascended into heaven His parting words to us were; I am with you always… I pray that you will share this promise to all that will listen!  Stand on your faith in Him through His Word.  Respond to His Presence in your daily life and come to the realization that when you center your life around HIM and, you will be blessed beyond all your expectations!!!  When HIS Presence is the focal point of your consciousness, all of the pieces of your life will fall into place.  I pray that you will be open to any invitation that the Lord may be offering to you out of the failures and pain of your past. I pray that you will be set free to become the person that the Lord has destined you to be. I pray that you leave all of the baggage that you are carrying behind so that your load will be lighter.  Hold tightly to His hand as He leads you through the twists and turns of life. Be a Friend

Somewhere along the line, we have separated evangelism from discipleship. We preach the gospel, but we don't disciple. We don't get people on their feet spiritually. But the two go together.

The conversion of Saul of Tarsus, one of the most notorious nonbelievers ever, was so unexpected that a lot of people didn't think it was true. So God spoke to a Christian named Ananias and told him to visit Saul. After some initial resistance, Ananias obeyed and found Saul (who later changed his name to Paul), prayed for him, and took the time to encourage him. Then God brought another man into Paul's life, and his name was Barnabas. He introduced Paul to the apostles and vouched for his conversion.

A lot of people want to be an apostle Paul, but would someone please be an Ananias or a Barnabas—a person who works behind the scenes? You may not be the next Billy Graham, but you may the best person who helps to nurture the next Billy Graham.

You can show that person what a Christian family, a Christian man, or a Christian woman looks like. You can befriend that individual who has no friends and bring him or her into your group. You don't know what God can do in the life of that person.

Discipling someone is not just talking to that person about Jesus; it is also being a friend. And that is what a lot of people need: a friend. That is what I needed as a brand-new believer. Thankfully, someone named Mark saw that I came to Christ and very persistently said, "You're going to church with me." I was resistant at first. But he won me over and ended up helping me get grounded in the faith. Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..


TONIGHT I PRAY that we look to Jesus continually for help, comfort and companionship.  I ask that you realize that He loves you and will always be by your side.  I pray that when you look to HIM for help and protection that it will flow freely from His Presence.  I pray that every day you stay conscious of Him.  Listen for His voice as you walk through your day.  He wants to be a part of each step that you take and He will open the way before you. When you go through hard times keep your eyes on Him so anxiety will not over take you and lead you despair.  Hold tightly to His hand as you walk along the dark paths of this world. Give thanks to Him for all that He does for us.  Never forget the darkened mind that you had before He chose to pour His light and love into you, so that you could become His light in a very dark world.  I pray that as you sleep He watches over you and protects your mind, heart, spirit and soul.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I love you all!!!  God bless you!!!♥♥♥

Word of the Day... May 24, 2015...


Great Commission or Great Omission?
Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
—James 4:17
If someone on his deathbed was giving his final words, would you pay attention? I hope so. If someone wrote down her last wishes in a will, would you take the time to read it? I think you would.

In Matthew 28 we have Jesus' final will and testament, so to speak, which is known as the Great Commission. Jesus said, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age" (Matthew 28:18–20).

This is the message of Christ to each of us. But how many of us are actually doing it? Some might find the following statement a bit controversial, but I think it is true: if you are not seeking to fulfill the Great Commission, it actually can be a sin.

There are different kinds of sin identified in the Bible: the sins of commission and the sins of omission. A sin of commission is doing what you should not do. A sin of omission is not doing what you should do.

The Bible tells us in James 4:17, "To him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin." Yet for many, the Great Commission has become the Great Omission. Research has shown that 95 percent of Christians have never led another person to Christ.

The full concept of going into the world and making disciples is to share your faith, lead people to Christ, and then, to the best of your ability, help them mature spiritually.  I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….



Tonight I Pray that the Holy Spirit gives you get a real hunger for His Word so that you can grow strong as a believer in Jesus Christ.  That you will realize that following Jesus is more than just saying a prayer or being born into a Christian family.  A Christian is a person who has, by faith, received and fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior.  I pray that you realize this is not our home we are only here temporarily and that the glitz and the glitter of this world are only temporal and will never last. The world will always leave you wanting more never satisfied and always thirsting for more… Jesus always satisfies our thirst and when we walk in the Light of HIS Presence, we become a beacon of light so that others may be drawn to Him.  His Light is brilliant and everlasting!!! How to Get a Life
Then He said to them all, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it."  —Luke 9:23–24

Some may think the Christian life is restrictive, but actually it is the very opposite. Out there in the world where there are no restrictions, people will start reaping the consequences of their foolish actions. But those who are following Christ will find life at its fullest. Yes, there are boundaries and parameters, but they are there for our own protection.

Jesus said, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me" (Luke 9:23).

Nowadays we don't fully grasp the idea of taking up a cross. But people living in the first century did. The sight of someone carrying a cross down the street in Jerusalem meant that person was about to die. So when Jesus said, "Let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily," people got it. Jesus was saying that if we want to follow Him, then we must die to our own desires and put God's will above our own.

Jesus also said, "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it" (Luke 9: 24). We have to lose our lives to find them.

People today like to say, "I need to find myself." But Jesus said that if you want to find life, purpose, and happiness, then you need to lose yourself. You come to God and say, "Here is my life. Here are my plans. Here are my dreams. Here are my hopes. Here are my aspirations. I present them to You. I want Your will more than my own."

I Pray TONIGHT the Lord will move mightily in your life and help you to get at the root of your problems. I Pray that you will walk in revelation and illumination by the Holy Spirit!!!  Lord, I pray that HE will restore everything that has been lost.  That the dream in your heart may be bigger than your environment, but sometimes you have to get out of that environment in order to see that your dream is fulfilled. God wants to breathe new life into your dreams. He wants to breathe new hope into your heart.  He wants to walk with you in this life and as you walk with HIM, you will have one foot on earth and one in heaven!!! Make a Stand
"If you want to be my disciple, you must hate everyone else by comparison--your father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters--yes, even your own life. Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple."  —Luke 14:26

When I became a Christian, all of my friends were no longer my friends. They quickly turned on me, mocked me, and made a joke out of what I had just done.

Sometimes relationships hold people back from following Christ. They think, If I become a Christian, what will my boyfriend say? Or, What will my girlfriend say? If you have a boyfriend who would not want you to become a Christian, then you need a new boyfriend. And guys, the same is true of a girlfriend. If you have friends who would oppose your being a follower of Jesus Christ, then you need some new friends. You need to make a stand.

In Luke 9 we find the story of a man whom Jesus called to follow Him. But the man said to Jesus, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father" (verse 59).

Jesus responded by saying, "Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and preach the kingdom of God" (verse 60). We may read that and think, Wow. Jesus was a little heartless, wasn't He? But the man was using an expression of the time that meant "wait until my father and mother die." It didn't mean that his father was dead. The man was effectively saying, "Give me a little time. Later, when my parents pass away, then I will follow You."

But Jesus was saying, "No, do it right now. I called you. If you want to do it, then do it. Or don't do it. It is your choice. But do it now."

The disciple must love Jesus more than anyone or anything else. Or to put it another way, your love for God should be so strong, so intense, that all other loves would be like hatred in comparison.  I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Tonight I pray that you learn how to rest in your Savior.  Take the time to lie down in green pastures so that He can restore your soul.  This computerized world that we belong to can get us all wired and sometimes we need to just tune out and turn everything off and simply rest in Jesus.  I pray that each one of you pull yourself away from the computer, cell phones, and TV each day so that you can find your way back to Jesus Christ.  He is right there waiting to spend time with you and fill you with His Peace. He wants each of us to walk down the paths of our lives with Him and allow Him to teach each one of us how to blaze the trail for others to find Jesus as their Lord.  So that they can also be restored and rest in the warm light of His Peace and Love.  I pray that you realize that He has chosen each one of us and the more we rely on Him the more He will shower us with His perfect Peace along all of our paths in life.  Stand on this faith and rest in His Great Light!!!    In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen.  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

On Being Different

The Church's mightiest influence is felt when she is different from the world in which she lives. Her power lies in her being different, rises with the degree in which she differs and sinks as the difference diminishes. This is so fully and clearly taught in the Scriptures and so well illustrated in Church history that it is hard to see how we can miss it. But miss it we do, for we hear constantly that the Church must try to be as much like the world as possible, excepting, of course, where the world is too, too sinful; and we are told to get adjusted to the world and be all things to all men. (This use of the passage, incidentally, points up Peter's saying that Our beloved brother Paul wrote some things which the unlearned and the unstable wrest to their own destruction.) One sure mark of the Church's heavenly character is that she is different from the rest of mankind; similarity is a mark of her fall. The sons of God and the sons of men are morally and spiritually separated, and between them there is a great gulf fixed. Time to Grow Up
So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding. Surely we don't need to start again with the fundamental importance of repenting from evil deeds and placing our faith in God.

With five grandchildren, I have discovered that it is actually enjoyable to go out and shop for babies. Today products for infants are so much cooler and high-tech than when Cathe and I had our boys. It is fun to get all of the little things for children that help them along in their growth process.

At first babies don't do a whole lot because they are completely dependent on their mothers. But then they get a little bit older and start eating baby food. After a while, they can start eating food that has been chopped up in very small pieces for them. But you still have to keep them interested in what they're eating by making airplane noises with the spoon.

That is all fine. But it is not fine when a child is thirteen years old and you still have to do airplane noises. You want to teach a child to grow up. You want to teach a child to eat adult food. Eventually you want to teach a child to be a young adult and ultimately to take care of himself or herself. That is part of growing up.

There are believers today who have known the Lord for ten, fifteen, or twenty years, and they are still like infants. They need their spiritual food in small pieces. Everything needs to be entertaining. Everything needs to be fun.

But the Bible says, "So let us stop going over the basic teachings about Christ again and again. Let us go on instead and become mature in our understanding" (Hebrews 6:1).

I think it is time for all of us to grow up and be mature men and women of God, because the Christian life is following Jesus not only as our Savior but also as our Lord.  I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Tonight I Pray that you take time out in your day to spend visiting Jesus.  Stop yourself from rushing into your day and begin it with Him. I pray that you realize that spending quality time with Jesus is essential for the success of your day.  Just sit in the morning light and be still in His Presence. Waiting upon the Lord will prepare you for everything that is ahead of you this day.  I pray that through your quiet spirit the Lord will speak to you and lead you in the art of learning how to rest in His Presence.  It is when we still our minds that we can carry the peace of the Lord everywhere we go.  I pray that you come to the realization that you never have to be without Jesus.  Never forget that His sheep hear His voice continually, for He is the ever present Shepherd. My mom was married and divorced seven times.

Thus, there were quite a few last names I could have chosen to take. But there was only one of those men who treated me as a father should treat a son: Oscar Felix Laurie. So I chose that name. When looking at the other options, it was the "name above all other names." Though he was not my biological father, he was in every other way my dad.

You've heard the expression "Who's your daddy?" Well, the Bible says you have a choice of who your father will be. You can either be "of your father the devil" (John 8:44) or you can choose the Heavenly Father.

If we are wise, we will choose the "name above all names," Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 2:19 tells us, "The Lord knows those who are His." God sees what others may not. He knows those who bear His mark. It's like those TSA Agents who use that little light on your driver's license at the airport. It's a black light that picks up a hologram on your license to help them authenticate it.

When we trust in Christ, He gives us His seal—His ID tag. Why? Because we belong to Him! We read in 1 Corinthians 6:19–20, "You are not your own. For you were bought at a price."

In old days, if something belonged to a king, it carried his seal. In the same way, we carry God's seal: the Holy Spirit. "He has identified us as His own by placing the Holy Spirit in our hearts as the first installment that guarantees everything He has promised us" (2 Corinthians 1:22 NLT).

I read a story about an old gentleman who was known for his godly life. Someone asked him one day, "What do you do when you are tempted, Old Man?" He replied, "I just look up to heaven and say, 'Lord, Your property is in danger.'"

Tonight I Pray that you accept HIS continual gift of peace, even when everything is falling apart in your own life.  I pray that you don’t get carried away by the cares and projects of this world.  It can bring out the worst in all of us.  Deliver us from this whirlwind that we have chosen to live in and allow us to come to the throne and sit at the feet of the Master.  I pray that You allow the wisdom that comes from resting in Him to flow deeply into you.  I pray that you realize that He has designed you to need Him every moment and know that He will meet all of your needs without draining His resources at all. Listen To His Voice
“My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand.” John 10:27-29

Allow me to speak personally. If the Christian gospel of salvation were not of grace, I would need to be the first to abandon its hopeless invitation and its false presentation. I ask you today, dear brother or sister, how lost and godless were you before Jesus rescued you? The answer, just in case you’ve forgotten, is absolutely lost! You and I are as unable to keep ourselves saved as we were unable to save ourselves at the very beginning. In the mind of God, and thus in reality, you and I were dead in our sins and waywardness until the Holy Spirit awakened us. We were completely alienated from God and heaven. But listen carefully to what Jesus says, “My sheep hear My voice and I know them and they follow Me.” 

Jesus, by His grace, has called us and we, being His sheep, are to follow Him. I rejoice in the analogy that He is our Shepherd and we are His sheep, for sheep are completely dependent upon the protection and security of the shepherd from birth until death. In every way, Jesus has communicated to us that we are His. He even states, “I give them eternal life and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.”
Jesus is the One who does the giving and Jesus is the One who does the keeping. Dear Christian, don’t let anyone trouble you with words like, “Now that you are saved, you must do all that you can to keep yourself saved.” Such thinking is hostile to the gospel of grace and to the work of Christ. Those who are in Christ know it. They grow happily under His care and blossom with confidence, becoming more eager to share His love with others. Rejoice little lamb! It’s called eternal life and it’s what He gives to all those who call upon Him in faith.  I loved this devotional today and learned so much!!!  I hope you have a Simply Heavenly day!!!

TONIGHT I Pray that as you spend time in His Word that your faith is increased. I pray that you would have a Word from the Lord as you meditate on His Scripture. I pray that you will be blessed as you commune with the King of the universe.  Listen to Him and act upon His voice! I pray for heightened sensitivity to the Holy Spirit so that you can be desensitized to every evil and wrong voice. I pray that you will be responsive to the voice of God and will follow where He leads you.  Wait patiently upon the Lord for His timing is perfect. He will help you and guide you so that you can rise above the negative thoughts, images and memories, surpassing the sorrow and sadness of past circumstances. So that you can move on to the better things that He has for you! I pray that as you put the past behind you - you will be able to press on to the mark of the prize of the high calling in Christ Jesus!! In His Holy Name we pray, Amen and Amen!! Na├»ve and simple is the Christian who knows nothing of the distresses that come against the Lord’s people. This world is filled with adversities and trouble and the followers of Jesus Christ are not exempt from such attacks. If we determine to make God our defense we shall succeed and not be moved. Dear saint, rejoice that Jesus is your rock and salvation because no one can ever take that away from you. Never look to man to be your protection, for God will see to it that whoever that man might be will indeed fail to protect you. Our defense is of God and it is in Him we must trust!

Tonight I Pray that you realize that as a child of God you are HIS for all eternity!!!   No one can deny you that inheritance in heaven.  We are secure in Him. Even if you stumble and falter as you journey through this life, He will never let go of your hand.  I pray that you know that your future is absolutely secure In Jesus!!!  When you can stand on that faith you will be free to live a more abundant life.  The Lord has prepared this day for you and He has taken great care and attention to every detail.  Instead of living each day by trying to fill it up with things to keep you busy, I pray that you pause and rest in the Lord Jesus.  It may sound easy to do, but it takes a deep level of trust and faith on your part.  When you make the decision to step out in that faith you will see that His way is Perfect. Pass It On

When I was a kid, I did a lot of dumb things. But there was one particular dumb thing I did that I guess my dad just figured, "He needs to remember that." I got so angry one day that I put my foot through my bedroom door and left a hole the size of, well, my foot. You know, after your temper cools down, you look at that sort of thing and you're embarrassed. You want to, in fact, get a new door. I said, "Dad, you ought to replace the door. It's going to be my money, of course, but you ought to put in a new door." He said, "No. That old door is fine," and he just put a little piece of white cardboard over the hole. He left it there for at least a year, and it was a constant reminder of my failure.

Now, I don't think God takes our past and does quite that, but there are truths that we constantly need to be reminded of, and that's where the book of Deuteronomy comes in. In Deuteronomy, God told the children of Israel to remember what He had done for them, so Moses went over those things—over and over and over again.

This is good to do as a Christian. We call it a testimony—the story of how God saved you. And you ought to have your testimony fresh and even somewhat rehearsed in your heart, so that at a moment's notice you can pull it out and use it.

Deuteronomy 6:20-21 says, "When your son asks you in time to come, saying, 'What is the meaning of the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which the Lord our God has commanded you?' then you shall say to your son: 'We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, and the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.'"

Inevitably, the new generation is going to question their parents' devotion to God. "Dad, what's up with these weird commandments we keep? Why do we have this special meal? Why do we have these strange festivals?" If you're a parent, one day your kids are going to question your relationship with God. And God says you should have a good answer for them. So, go over your history. Talk about how God delivered you. Pass it on.

One effective way to do this is to keep a journal and write down the things God has done in your life. When you pass from the scene, it will be invaluable to your children to read that: "Here's my parents' legacy. This is how they prayed. This is what they prayed for. This is how they trusted in the Lord."

"You shall remember that the Lord your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness" (Deuteronomy 8:2). Remember literally means to mark or to chart. Think of God's track record in your own history. Think back and mark well the trials God led you through—the wilderness, the tough times. Recall God's work often in your life.

And share your faith. If you don't tell them, who will? You know the truth; pass it on; disciple other Christians. God has given you everything you need so far in your life. You might say, "Yeah, but it's been tough." But you made it. Tonight I Pray that you realize that God is our strength and our refuge.  He is an ever present help in time of trouble. No matter what may happen He can meet all of our needs.  I pray that as you lie on your face before the Lord that you will find more than you ever dreamed possible. When we come before Him with an attitude of thanksgiving, He will pour out a blessing upon us that will fill us with His joy no matter what we are going through in this life.  For it is under His wings that we will find refuge.  His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. Onward Christian Soldier
“…of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”

Jesus made a startling announcement regarding the Holy Spirit. He told His disciples that the Spirit would come not only to indwell every born-again follower, but would also convict the world through judgment. The word convict means to present the gospel truth in such a way that each listener is brought to a place of making an intelligent decision. But Jesus also said that the Holy Spirit would bring judgment because the ruler of this world – Satan – is judged!

Each and every soul that is brought to the place of accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior is another gem plucked from the devil’s black bag. What great news it is that the dragon of old, Satan himself,  has had his teeth pulled out and his claws removed when it comes to any of God’s children. He is a judged enemy, a defeated foe and there is nothing his arsenal can produce that might destroy you. Onward Christian soldier! The pretend ruler of this world is judged and has become nothing more than a usurper and a fraud. Tonight I Pray that you realize that if you are open to the Lord, He will train you to be steady knowing that HE is your anchor.  That when you are walking IN Him you will be steady and strong and will not allow the things of the world to interrupt you awareness of Him.  I pray that you do not allow unexpected events to throw you off course.  I pray that the Lord gives you a real hunger for His Word so that that you will grow strong and steady and not veer off course in these last days.  May the Lord be with you and bless and keep you in His love through the power of His Holy Spirit, as you are enriched in your walk with Jesus Christ day by day as He ministers to you His strength, His power. And may you begin to experience more and more in your own life that power of God's love transforming you and changing you and making you into His image, by His Spirit which dwells within you. Worship, Revival & Refreshment
“And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father…”  Genesis 26:18

From the moment that God called Abraham out of Ur to a better place, Abraham became a worshipper. Others saw his act of worship as Abraham expressed his thanks to God in a public way by building an altar of worship. What I find interesting is that whenever Abraham had the need to dig a well for water, an altar of thanks would soon spring up. This godly lifestyle was seen and then adopted by his son Isaac.

It was Isaac who continued the practice of worship and it was Isaac who saw the need to build altars. There is a model of revival here in this verse for us to see. Notice that it says “And Isaac dug again the wells which they had dug in the days of his father.” This was the re-opening, the unplugging of the waters that the Philistines had stopped up in earlier days. The Philistines are pictured as agents of sin and sin will always stop up the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

What are we to do then when the “waters” are plugged up? We must dig again. Life’s pressures, spiritual neglect and refusal to follow the Lord’s leading can stop up the flow of God’s Word in our lives. We must re-open our hearts again by digging into the Bible anew and afresh. I know that when we have grown tired and weary within our spirit, it seems almost impossible to be refreshed by new waters of revival, but that sense of despair is only a mirage. Dig again and feel the holy waters flow over your soul.

The amazing thing is that it’s the dryness of the desert that makes the water all the more wonderful and refreshing. Are you in a desert place today? Then dig again and drink of the refreshing that can only come from the Lord your God.

Tonight I pray that you take the time to seek HIS face so that you will find more then you ever thought possible.  I pray that you let the Lord Jesus displace worry at the center of your being. Allow Him to be your super saturated cloud that rains peace into the pool of your mind. It Could Be Today!
“…looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ…”  Titus 2:13

One of the most important things that the apostle Paul was sure to communicate when preaching the Gospel, was the fact that Jesus could come back at any time. He encouraged the Christian to be watching for Jesus on a day-to-day basis. Paul even made the imminent return of Jesus part of his syllabus in his pastoral training courses. In a letter he wrote to his seminary student, Titus, he instructed him to be “looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.”

What a comfort to know that those followers of Jesus Christ were ready for His return way back then. But some might say, “Where is Jesus’ return – it’s been two thousand years and He’s still not here?” True, but do not disparage His merciful delay. It doesn’t mean that the scriptures will not be fulfilled; it simply means He’s on His way! He is coming back and we are to believe that it could be today. If you truly believe that, then you will be busy about God’s business here and now. You will be excited and ready to see Him in the air. The obedient Christian is the one who is on his mark, the one who is set and the one who is ready to go when Jesus calls. Are you ready? It could be today, and if not, then we are one day closer to the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.
