Word of the Day... October 31, 2015...

The Battle Is the Lord’s
“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” - (1 Samuel 17:47)

The giants of life defeat us again and again because we face them in our own strength. The battle belongs to the Lord. That is why David said to Goliath, “Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands” (1 Samuel 17:47).

Ephesians 6 tells about the various pieces of armor that believers are to wear. But before a single piece of armor is applied, Paul gives us these words: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10).

I recognize I am weak, but at the same time, I acknowledge that God is great and powerful. I need to know that I cannot win the spiritual battle in my own strength. Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5).

We need to know about the incredible resources God has made available to us as Christians. Paul prayed that the believers at Ephesus would discover what God had done for them. He said, “Therefore I . . . do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints” (Ephesians 1:15–18).  You don’t fight for victory. You fight from it. Start living in that power.

Tonight I Pray that you never feel guilty for taking the time to seek out the Lord Jesus!  When you do this it is in answer to the Holy Spirit within you. Nudging you to spend time visiting with Him, in prayer and communion.  I pray that you recognize that He can transform you into an exceptional Christian when you turn over all of your passion to HIM and that His Love satisfies soul hunger like nothing else can!!!  I pray you know that as His child made in His image, that you were designed to only find fulfillment through Him and His great and all-encompassing Love!!!  Since this world is not our home I pray that you keep your eyes focused on the Lord and what He has for you. For He turns even dullest day bright and adds sparkle to the most mundane of tasks.  Step out in faith allow His Presence to light the path before you where ever you may go.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love You All!!!!  God Bless You!!!! ♥♥

Faith Grows with Use

It was a saying of George Mueller that faith grows with use. If we would have great faith we must begin to use the little faith we already have. Put it to work by reverent and faithful praying, and it will grow and become stronger day by day. Dare today to trust God for something small and ordinary and next week or next year you may be able to trust Him for answers bordering on the miraculous. Everyone has some faith, said Mueller; the difference among us is one of degree only, and the man of small faith may be simply the one who has not dared to exercise the little faith he has. According to the Bible, we have because we ask, or we have not because we ask not. It does not take much wisdom to discover our next move. Is it not to pray, and pray again and again till the answer comes? God waits to be invited to display His power in behalf of His people. The world situation is such that nothing less than God can straighten it out. Let us not fail the world and disappoint God by failing to pray.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

TONIGHT I pray that you give all of your worries to Jesus. They are too heavy for you to carry, soon you will stagger under the load and eventually fall flat. I pray that you discipline yourself to live within the boundaries of today. Stop judging and evaluating yourself, for this is not your role. And don't compare yourself to other people this produces feelings of pride inferiority; or sometimes a mixture of both. Trust in the Lord to lead you along the path that is uniquely tailored for you. I pray that you don't look for affirmation in the wrong places: your own evaluations, or those of other people. I pray you come to the realization that real affirmation comes from the Lord Jesus and His unconditional love for you.  If you let Him He will move mightily in your life.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen… I love you all!!! God bless you!!!! ♥♥♥

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

TONIGHT I PRAY that you worship the Lord Jesus continually.  I pray that you dwell in the beauty of His Holiness. I pray that you appreciate the beauty that our Father has made for us all to admire and enjoy.  A beautiful rose a glorious sunset or the dynamic splendor of the oceans. Some people just rush past them never giving the Lord a thought or thank Him for all of the beauty He has gifted us with on this earth…  I pray that you proclaim HIS splendor in our world and the glory of HIS creation. Trust the Lord with all of your thoughts and prayers and never drift away from Him in these last days.  Keep your heart open to the Holy Spirit and when He warns you that you are slipping away from Him hold even tighter to His hand.  In Jesus name we pray, Amen and Amen… I Love you!!!   God bless you!!! ♥♥♥

Lost but Not Abandoned

. . . The Advent established:. . .

Third, God indeed spoke by the prophets. The priests and scribes who were versed in the Scriptures could inform the troubled Herod that the Christ was to be born in Bethlehem of Judaea. And thereafter the Old Testament came alive in Christ. It was as if Moses and David and Isaiah and Jeremiah and all the minor prophets hovered around Him, guiding His footsteps into the way of the prophetic Scriptures.

So difficult was the Old Testament gamut the Messiah must run to validate His claims that the possibility of anyone's being able to do it seemed utterly remote; yet Jesus did it, as a comparison of the Old Testament with the New will demonstrate. His coming confirmed the veracity of the Old Testament Scriptures, even as those Scriptures confirmed the soundness of His own claims.

Fourth, man is lost but not abandoned. The coming of Christ to the world tells us both of these things.

Had men not been lost no Savior would have been required. Had they been abandoned no Savior would have come. But He came, and it is now established that God has a concern for men. Though we have sinned away every shred of merit, still He has not forsaken us. ''For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.''

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

TONIGHT I PRAY that you realize just how much Jesus loves you!!!  I pray that you keep your eyes focused on Him so that when the waves of adversity roll over you and you are tempted to give up you won’t. As your circumstances consume more and more of your attention, and you are losing sight of Him, reach out for HIS hand instead.  He is right there beside you. He is fully aware of your situation, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you were able to bear. Call out to Him...  “Jesus help me.” And He will.  He will never leave you or forsake you. Don’t be afraid to put all of your trust in HIM…  Stand on that faith!!! I pray that He give you a real hunger for the Word of God so that you can grow in His Word, Will and Way for your life. In Jesus name we pray, Amen and Amen... I love you all!!!  God bless you!!!

Walking in Truth

Any man who would escape the heavy tax which humankind lays upon the righteous must make a satisfactory compromise with error. This is so because sin has perverted the nature of things. He that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey is as true now as when it was first uttered.

Little as we like to admit it, two thousand years of Christianity have not made much difference. The human race is still cursed with what Bacon called a natural though corrupt love of the lie itself.

Nevertheless the hazards of truth should not count in our final tally. Truth is such a royal patron that we should embrace it without regard to cost. The cautious calculator, who tinkers with truth for fear of consequences, is no worthy servant of such a noble master.

We Christians above all people should value truth, for we profess to belong to the One who is the Truth. The Stoics who had no access to the Scriptures nevertheless had a noble concept of truth and of mans responsibility to it.

When on trial for his life before a hostile and prejudiced court one of them told his accusers: A man who is good for anything ought not to calculate the chance of living or dying; he ought only to consider whether in doing anything he is doing right or wrong-acting the part of a good man or a bad. The true follower of Christ will not ask, If I embrace this truth, what will it cost me? Rather he will say, This is truth, God help me to walk in it, let come what may!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

I Pray TONIGHT that you learn to live with deep dependence on the Lord Jesus…. Realizing that true dependence is not simply asking the Lord to bless what you have decided to do. It is coming to Him with an open mind and an open heart inviting Him to plant His desires within you. I pray that He infuses within you a dream that seems far beyond your reach. I pray that this will begin your journey of profound reliance on the Lord Jesus Christ. It is a faith walk, taken one step at a time, leaning on Him as much as you need. This is not a path of continual success but of multiple failures. However, each failure is followed by of growth spurt, nourished by increased reliance on Him. Enjoy the blessedness of a victorious life, through deepening your dependence on Him alone.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!

One Bite at a Time
God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.  —James 1:12

It has been said that conversion has made our hearts a battlefield. It is true. When you believe in Jesus Christ, a battle begins in your heart. It is a battle between God and Satan. When you take that step and make a commitment to Lord, the Devil will want to pull you away from the commitment you have made.

So if you have found yourself being tempted a lot lately, then cheer up. It is actually an indication that you are living as a true Christian.

It is not a sin to be tempted. That is a strategy the Devil loves to use. He will tempt you, and then he will condemn you for being tempted. It is not a sin to be tempted; it is a sin when you give in to the temptation. It is not the bait that constitutes sin; it is the bite. If you refuse it and overcome it, God promises to bless you for it. We read in James, "God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him" (James 1:12).

The bottom line is that you are under the control and power of the Lord Jesus Christ. You have God's ID tag attached to you, and the Devil can no longer control you. He can no longer manipulate you. So he will try to draw you out. He will try to weaken your resolve. He will try to get you to compromise. He will try to take you one bite at a time. It's a little bit here, a compromise there, a little lowering your guard in a certain area. And pretty soon, you will find yourself in a place where you never wanted to be.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

I PRAY TONIGHT that you realize that the Lord chose you before the foundation of the world, to walk with Him!! I pray that you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you in this walk so that you will stay on the path that the Lord has planned for you.  I pray that you trust in Him that His plans are to prosper you and not to harm you. To trust His promise that He will never leave or forsake you. I pray that His Peace and Wisdom, will cover your heart, soul and mind! I pray that all adversity will be converted to triumph in your life for the glory of God! I pray that the Lord will enable you to hear His direction clearly! NO MORE CONFUSION... You WILL walk in clarity!!! Through one man’s (Adam) sin, we all became sinful; however, through one man’s (Jesus) act of righteousness, we all have right standing with God (Romans 5:12-20). So we thank you for your love in sending your SON to give us the greatest gift, forgiveness of sin and an eternity with Him. In Jesus name, Amen and Amen I Love you all… God bless you!!!  <3 o:p="">

Boldly Christ's

To become a member of the body of Christ and join with the bride of Christ, you must be born into the family of Christ. It happens by believing in your heart that Jesus is Lord and confessing your faith with your mouth to the people. This is reasonable, and I do not understand why anybody should find fault with it. Suppose you were somewhere in the world, and someone asked you your nationality. Is there anybody here that would be ashamed to say where you were from? Why then should you go through life being secret Christians, too frightened, too scared to say, "I am a Christian"?

If Jesus Christ has honored you by finding you and laying His hand on you, you ought never be ashamed of Him. You should be able to stand anywhere at any time and say, "I do not care who knows it. I am a Christian." Be proud. I want the world to know that I am a Christian. From reading the lives of the saints I know I have a long way to go, and I want you to know that, too! I have a sharp tongue and an abrupt manner, and sometimes I say things that hurt feelings. I do not want to hurt your feelings. Just forgive a fellow who is too dumb to know better.

I may not be a good Christian, but I am still a Christian. I am a member of the body of Christ. I am in the ark along with the blessed few who have been honored by God with grace, and for that reason I am not ashamed and I do not want you to be. We want a separated-from-the-world, heads-up, knees-bent, living church! Sure we can have our skating parties, gatherings and coffees. Nothing is wrong with that, provided we know that we do not need it. These activities are something on the side so we can relax. Jesus Christ is our center, and so the way to get in is by faith and confession.

I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

Tonight I Pray that you remember that the Lord is your lamp and that He will turn your darkness into light!!! With His help you can advance against anything!  Trust in Him and do not be afraid. For He knows your capabilities and if you allow Him to He will help you to become all that He created you to be!!! You can withdraw from Him into the darkness and denial or you can come into the radiance His Presence!!!  If you face your sin head on with Him, it will lose its grip upon you. I pray that you realize what it means to have Him as your strength and your song.  I pray that you share His joy by living in His Presence and rejoice in the journey with Him as you walk towards heaven singing His Song!!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen. I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!!

Applying the Test of Biblical Accuracy

The tests for spiritual genuineness are two: First, the leader must be a good man and full of the Holy Ghost. Christianity is nothing if not moral. . . . But the test of moral goodness is not enough. Every man must submit his work to the scriptural test. It is not enough that he be able to quote from the Bible at great length or that he claim for himself great and startling experiences with God. Go back to the law and to the testimony. If he speak not according to the Word it is because there is no light in him.

We who are invited to follow him have every right, as well as a solemn obligation, to test his work according to the Word of God. We must demand that every claimant for our confidence present a clean bill of health from the Holy Scriptures; that he do more than weave in a text occasionally, or hold up the Bible dramatically before the eyes of his hearers. His doctrines must be those of the Scriptures. The Bible must dominate his preaching. He must preach according to the Word of God.

The price of following a false guide on the desert may be death. The price of heeding wrong advice in business may be bankruptcy. The price of trusting to a quack doctor may be permanent loss of health. The price of putting confidence in a pseudo-prophet may be moral and spiritual tragedy. Let us take heed that no man deceive us.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

I Pray TONIGHT that the glory of God cover every aspect of your life - that you do not love the things of this world but put all of your trust in Him alone!!  I pray that when things don’t go your way that you realize you have the Creator of the Universe with you and for you!!!   Whenever you feel that something is lacking in your life it is most likely because you are not connecting with Jesus on a deeper level. I pray that you hear Him call your name and that you respond to His voice! Run into the light of His Presence and Walk through your day with Jesus!!!  See people through His eyes and relate to others with His love rather than your own. Equipped to Serve
There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all.
 —1 Corinthians 12:4

Many times through the process of elimination, you will discover what you are not so good at. Then in time, you will discover what you are good at—and it might be something you've never thought of.

I wanted to be one thing, and God said, "I will use that somewhat, but I'm going to call you to this other thing where you have no personal skill set so that you will be completely dependent on Me for it to work."

God wants to use you, God has a place for you, and God has gifts that He has instilled in you and wants you to put into action. To find out what you are called to do, you need to pray about it. I would also suggest that you do various things, and if they don't work, then do something else. A lot of times we are praying for a sign from Heaven when that so-called sign might come in the form of an announcement that help is needed in Sunday school, or help is needed somewhere else. Why not get out there and just help where you can? Why not say, "All right, Lord. I'm available. I will do what You want me to do. I'm willing to take a step of faith"?

God might be gifting you in a way and in an area you've never even dreamed of.

Maybe you have messed up in life, and when you think about being used by God, you have a hard time wrapping your mind around being forgiven by Him. He made provision for you through Jesus Christ, who died for you, paid for all your sin, and then rose from the dead. If you will turn from your sin and ask for His forgiveness, He will pardon you.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

Tonight I Pray that you come to the realization that our Lord Jesus will never leave us.  When He ascended into heaven His parting words to us were; I am with you always… I pray that you will share this promise to all that will listen!  Stand on your faith in Him through His Word.  Respond to His Presence in your daily life and come to the realization that when you center your life around HIM and, you will be blessed beyond all your expectations!!!  When HIS Presence is the focal point of your consciousness, all of the pieces of your life will fall into place.  I pray that you will be open to any invitation that the Lord may be offering to you out of the failures and pain of your past. I pray that you will be set free to become the person that the Lord has destined you to be. I pray that you leave all of the baggage that you are carrying behind so that your load will be lighter.  Hold tightly to His hand as He leads you through the twists and turns of life. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen… I love you all!!!  God bless you!!!! ♥♥

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

TONIGHT I PRAY that we look to Jesus continually for help, comfort and companionship.  I ask that you realize that He loves you and will always be by your side.  I pray that when you look to HIM for help and protection that it will flow freely from His Presence.  I pray that every day you stay conscious of Him.  Listen for His voice as you walk through your day.  He wants to be a part of each step that you take and He will open the way before you. When you go through hard times keep your eyes on Him so anxiety will not over take you and lead you despair.  Hold tightly to His hand as you walk along the dark paths of this world. Give thanks to Him for all that He does for us.  Never forget the darkened mind that you had before He chose to pour His light and love into you, so that you could become His light in a very dark world.  I pray that as you sleep He watches over you and protects your mind, heart, spirit and soul.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I love you all!!!  God bless you!!!♥♥♥

Choosing Light

God has given us a broad world of truth for our spiritual and intellectual habitation. This universe of truth is to the human soul as limitless as the air to a bird or the sea to a fish. There the Christian mind can luxuriate at perfect liberty. While the ages unfold the believer will need no more than has been already given, for it represents the broad and manifold will of God, the happy home of saints and angels.

This vast sea of truth is expressed in nature, in the Holy Scriptures and in Christ, the Wisdom of God incarnate. Its rational phase can be reduced to a creed which may be learned as one would learn any other truth, and which when so learned constitutes Christian orthodoxy, best and most perfectly embodied in the beliefs of modern evangelical Christianity.

But we must also remember that orthodoxy is not synonymous with Procrustean uniformity. We may bring every thought into accord with divine revelation without sacrificing our intellectual freedom. We can be orthodox without becoming mentally stultified.   We can believe every tenet of the Christian creed and still leave our imagination free to roam at will through the broad worlds of nature and grace. We are free but not freethinkers.   I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

Tonight I Pray that the Holy Spirit gives you get a real hunger for His Word so that you can grow strong as a believer in Jesus Christ.  That you will realize that following Jesus is more than just saying a prayer or being born into a Christian family.  A Christian is a person who has, by faith, received and fully trusted in Jesus Christ as the only Savior.  I pray that you realize this is not our home we are only here temporarily and that the glitz and the glitter of this world are only temporal and will never last. The world will always leave you wanting more never satisfied and always thirsting for more… Jesus always satisfies our thirst and when we walk in the Light of HIS Presence, we become a beacon of light so that others may be drawn to Him.  His Light is brilliant and everlasting!!! I pray that you stay close to Him in these last days.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love you All…  God bless you!!!! ♥♥♥

Using Both Wings

Truth is like a bird; it cannot fly on one wing. Yet we are forever trying to take off with one wing flapping furiously and the other tucked neatly out of sight. Many of the doctrinal divisions among the churches are the result of a blind and stubborn insistence that truth has but one wing.

Each side holds tenaciously to one text, refusing grimly to acknowledge the validity of the other. This error is an evil among churches, but it is a real tragedy when it gets into the hearts of individual Christians and begins to affect their devotional lives.

One thing hidden in such teachings as have been mentioned above is unconscious spiritual pride. The Christian who refuses to confess sin on the ground that it is already forgiven is setting himself above prophet and psalmist and all the saints who have left anything on record about themselves from Paul to the present time.

These did not hide their sins behind a syllogism, but eagerly and fully confessed them. Perhaps that is why they were such great souls and those who claim to have found a better way are so small. And one has but to note the smug smile of superiority on the face of the one-prayer Christian to sense that there is a lot of pride behind the smile. While other Christians wrestle with God in an agony of intercession they sit back in humble pride waiting it out. They do not pray because they have already prayed.

The devil has no fear of such Christians. He has already won over them, and his technique has been false logic. Let's use both wings. We'll get further that way.

Word of the Day... October 19, 2015....

"Here I Am, Lord. Send Him."
But Moses again pleaded, "Lord, please! Send anyone else."
—Exodus 4:13

When God called Moses to return to Egypt, I find it interesting that Moses used the word Lord and then effectively said no: "Lord, please! Send anyone else" (Exodus 4:13).

It reminds me of Peter, when he had that vision on the housetop of Simon (see Acts 10:9–16). In his vision, a great sheet was lowered from Heaven with creatures that Peter was forbidden to eat, according to Mosaic Law. God told him, "Get up, Peter; kill and eat them" (verse 13).

But Peter said, "No, Lord" (verse 14).

Those words don't go together. You don't say, "No, Lord." Rather, it is, "Yes, Lord."

Moses was saying to God, "No, Lord, I don't want to do this. I can't do this. I am not the right guy. Send someone else."

This angered God. Moses should have just done what God called him to do.

Here is something to consider. If God is calling you in some way, shape, or form, to not respond actually can be a sin. Yes, God has given you a free will, and I suppose you can live your life as you want to live it for the most part. But if God calls you to do something for Him and you say no, that is disobedience, and that is a sin. To not obey Him is to sin against Him.

"But I am not qualified," you might say. Well really, who is? In fact, often the ones who think they are qualified are disqualified. They're so full of themselves that God won't use them. God likes to use people who don't think they're worthy. God likes to use people who don't think they ever could be used by Him. God likes to use ordinary people in extraordinary ways so that He receives the glory.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…

Tonight I pray that you learn how to rest in your Savior.  Take the time to lie down in green pastures so that He can restore your soul.  This computerized world that we belong to can get us all wired and sometimes we need to just tune out and turn everything off and simply rest in Jesus.  I pray that each one of you pull yourself away from the computer, cell phones, and TV each day so that you can find your way back to Jesus Christ.  He is right there waiting to spend time with you and fill you with His Peace. He wants each of us to walk down the paths of our lives with Him and allow Him to teach each one of us how to blaze the trail for others to find Jesus as their Lord.  So that they can also be restored and rest in the warm light of His Peace and Love.  I pray that you realize that He has chosen each one of us and the more we rely on Him the more He will shower us with His perfect Peace along all of our paths in life.  Stand on this faith and rest in His Great Light!!!    In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen.  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

Captain Aboard

There's a story of a young naval ensign who took his first cruise overseas. It was his responsibility once they were overseas to command the vessel and head it back toward the U.S. Well, he spouted out commands and managed to get that huge ship sailing back. As they were going out, a seaman walked up to him with a radio note from the captain that read, "My personal congratulations. You completed the exercise according to the book at amazing speed. In your haste, however, you overlooked one of the unwritten rules: make sure the captain is aboard before getting underway." That's the key factor in living the Christian life: make sure God is on board and calling the shots.

We can see this principle in the life of Abraham. God made a marvelous covenant with Abraham and told him what He was going to do, and Abraham believed Him (see Genesis 15:6). But when we get to Genesis 17, God required something unusual of Abraham. And there was something Abraham did in return that we should pick up on—a principle, a prerequisite for our lives.

"God said to Abraham: 'As for you, you shall keep My covenant, you and your descendants after you throughout their generations. This is My covenant which you shall keep, between Me and you and your descendants after you: Every male child among you shall be circumcised'" (vv. 9-10). Abraham was Semitic, so he knew that every contract must be sealed with some outward demonstration, but I don't think this is what he had in mind. He was ninety-nine at this point; I'm sure he was thinking, Nobody told me old age would be this tough! But he followed through; he obeyed (see vv. 23-27).

Here's the point: we must permit God to speak into our lives, even if we don't like what He has to say to us. It's funny how we gravitate toward certain promises in the Bible, but then we avoid other verses of Scripture that are also promises. We love texts like Philippians 4:19—"My God shall supply all your need"—and that's good, but we shy away from promises like "In the world you will have tribulation" (John 16:33).

That brings us to an even greater point. Some people who call themselves Christians really don't allow God to speak into their lives. They have cleverly devised barriers to keep that from happening. They will read passages they like and avoid those they don't like, read books that tickle their fancy and stay away from the edgy type, or listen to a sermon only until it gets uncomfortable and then tune out.

At what point will we allow God to be God and speak His truth into our lives? Now, He primarily speaks to us through His Word. Does it hurt? Sometimes. That's what the writer of Hebrews said: "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart" (Hebrews 4:12). God's Word often goes for the jugular, doesn't it? Sometimes sermons comfort the afflicted, and other times they're meant to afflict the comfortable.

But we have to allow God to speak His truth into our lives. We can't erect barriers, tune it out, or think it's for somebody else; rather we must say, "God, what are You trying to tell me?" Some people say, "Well, God doesn't speak like He used to." I'll contest that—I think people don't listen like they used to.

Examine your life. Maybe that naval ensign describes you: you're charging through life at breakneck speed, but the problem is that God's not aboard. You need the Captain to speak truth into your life so that you can respond to it. May we be those who permit Him to speak into our lives regularly, and may we portray His mark in our lives as His Word penetrates our hearts.

Testing Leaders

There is a common debt that every Christian owes to his fellow Christians; but there is a heavier debt that he owes to particular Christians: to Bible scholars, to translators, to reformers, missionaries, evangelists, revivalists, hymn writers, composers, pastors, teachers and praying saints. For these we should keep the incense of our grateful prayers rising day and night to the Father of light who is the source and fountain of all our blessings.

If it is a sin of omission to be ungrateful toward our God-ordained leaders and benefactors it is as surely a sin to be too dependent upon them. Those men who were honored of God to write down the words of the inspired Scriptures hold a unique position in the providence of God and we except them from what follows. We are completely dependent upon the Scriptures for divine truth and in that sense we must follow the words of the inspired writers without question. But no other man holds such a power over us.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night…..

Tonight I Pray that you take time out in your day to spend visiting Jesus.  Stop yourself from rushing into your day and begin it with Him. I pray that you realize that spending quality time with Jesus is essential for the success of your day.  Just sit in the morning light and be still in His Presence. Waiting upon the Lord will prepare you for everything that is ahead of you this day.  I pray that through your quiet spirit the Lord will speak to you and lead you in the art of learning how to rest in His Presence.  It is when we still our minds that we can carry the peace of the Lord everywhere we go.  I pray that you come to the realization that you never have to be without Jesus.  Never forget that His sheep hear His voice continually, for He is the ever present Shepherd. Step into the fullness of His love and His light will warm you with His words…  I am here always, even until the end…  Walk in that faith and you will experience His unfathomable peace.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen… I Love You All!!!  God Bless you!!! ♥♥♥

Listening to God before We Speak for Him

Holy men of soberer and quieter times than ours knew well the power of silence. David said, I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. My heart was hot within me; while I was musing the fire burned: then spake I with my tongue.

There is a tip here for God's modern prophets. The heart seldom gets hot while the mouth is open. A closed mouth before God and a silent heart are indispensable for the reception of certain kinds of truth.

No man is qualified to speak who has not first listened. It might well be a wonderful revelation to some Christians if they were to get completely quiet for a short time, long enough, let us say, to get acquainted with their own souls, and to listen in the silence for the deep voice of the Eternal God. The experience, if repeated often enough, would do more to cure our ulcers than all the pills that ever rolled across a desk.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

Tonight I Pray that you accept HIS continual gift of peace, even when everything is falling apart in your own life.  I pray that you don’t get carried away by the cares and projects of this world.  It can bring out the worst in all of us.  I pray that He will deliver you from this whirlwind that you have chosen to live in and allow you to come to the throne and sit at the feet of the Master.  I pray that you allow the wisdom that comes from resting in Him to flow deeply into you.  I pray that you realize that He has designed you to need Him every moment and know that He will meet all of your needs without draining His resources at all. Rest in Him with a thankful heart and receive His Peace that passes all understanding.  Even until He calls you home.  In Jesus name I Pray, Amen and Amen.  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!  ♥♥♥

His Ambassadors
So we are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"
—2 Corinthians 5:20

When I would hunt snakes as a kid, I would never pick them up by the tail. I would use my foot to pin them down by the neck, being careful not to crush them, and then I would carefully pick them up, holding them right behind the head. I would never pick up a snake by the tail, because a snake could turn around and bite.

When God told Moses to throw down his rod, which became a snake, and then pick it up by the tail, it was a step of faith. Most likely the snake was a cobra, the symbol of Egypt. I presume it was this type of snake because it was common in that part of the world. It also has a venomous bite. If you are bitten by a cobra, you have a serious problem on your hands.

So God told Moses to take the symbol of Egypt and grab it by the tail. He was effectively telling him, "I don't want you to be afraid. I am going to defeat this serpent. I am going to overpower Pharaoh. I am going to do it through you, so overcome your fears, step forward, and go for it."

Moses was called to represent God to a pagan culture. And we have been called by God to do the same. The United States is becoming increasingly pagan, and I mean that in a descriptive, not derogative, sense. There is belief in false gods and in many gods. It seems like there is belief in every god but the right God.

The Lord has called Christians to represent Him and has given us authority: we are His ambassadors (see 2 Corinthians 5:20). And as ambassadors of Christ, we are charged with bringing His message to the world.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night...

TONIGHT I Pray that you will walk peacefully with the Lord.  That as you spend time studying His Word that your faith will be increased.  I pray that you would have direction from the Lord as you meditate on His Scripture and I pray that you will be blessed as you commune with the King of the universe.  I pray that you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit so that you will be responsive to Him and will follow where He leads you.  I pray that you wait patiently upon the Lord for His timing is perfect. He will help you and guide you so that you can rise above the negative thoughts, images and memories, surpassing the sorrow and sadness of past circumstances. So that you can move on to the better things that He has for you and grow stronger as a Christian! I pray that as you put the past behind you that you will be press on and be in His will and way for your life. Trusting that he will give you the strength that you need and He will give you with His Peace.  In Jesus Name I pray, Amen and Amen!! I Love you all…  God bless you!!!  ♥♥♥

The Privilege of Choice

It is inherent in the nature of man that his will must be free. Made in the image of God who is completely free, man must enjoy a measure of freedom. This enables him to select his companions for this world and the next; it enables him to yield his soul to whom he will, to give allegiance to God or the devil, to remain a sinner or become a saint. And God respects this freedom. God once saw everything that He had made, and behold, it was very good. To find fault with the smallest thing God has made is to find fault with its Maker.

It is a false humility that would lament that God wrought but imperfectly when He made man in His own image. Sin excepted, there is nothing in human nature to apologize for. This was confirmed forever when the Eternal Son became permanently incarnated in human flesh. So highly does God regard His handiwork that He will not for any reason violate it.

For God to override man's freedom and force him to act contrary to his own will would be to make a mockery of the image of God in man. This God will never do.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night...

Tonight I Pray that you realize that as a child of God you are HIS for all eternity!!!   No one can deny you that inheritance in heaven.  We are secure in Him. Even if you stumble and falter as you journey through this life, He will never let go of your hand.  I pray that you know that your future is absolutely secure In Jesus!!!  When you can stand on that faith you will be free to live a more abundant life.  The Lord has prepared this day for you and He has taken great care and attention to every detail.  Instead of living each day by trying to fill it up with things to keep you busy, I pray that you pause and rest in the Lord Jesus.  It may sound easy to do, but it takes a deep level of trust and faith on your part.  When you make the decision to step out in that faith you will see that His way is Perfect. I pray that you live in the light of His Presence and when you do His Light will shine brightly through you for the whole world to see…  In Jesus Name I Pray, Amen and Amen….  I Love You all!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥♥

You Are a Theologian!

The effort to be practicing Christians without knowing what Christianity is about must always fail. The true Christian should be, indeed must be, a theologian. He must know at least something of the wealth of truth revealed in the Holy Scriptures. And he must know it with sufficient clarity to state it and defend his statement.

And what can be stated and defended is a creed. Because the heart of the Christian life is admittedly faith in a person, Jesus Christ the Lord, it has been relatively easy for some to press this truth out of all proportion and teach that faith in the Person of Christ is all that matters.

Who Jesus is matters not, who His Father was, whether Jesus is God or man or both, whether or not He accepted the superstitions and errors of His time as true, whether He actually rose again after His passion or was only thought to have done so by His devoted followers--these things are not important, say the no-creed advocates. What is vital is that we believe on Him and try to follow His teachings. What is overlooked here is that the conflict of Christ with the Pharisees was over the question of who He was. His claim to be God stirred the Pharisees to fury.

He could have cooled the fire of their anger by backing away from His claim to equality with God, but He refused to do it. And He further taught that faith in Him embraced a belief that He is very God, and that apart from this there could be no salvation for anyone. "He said unto them, 'Ye are from beneath; I am from above: ye are of this world; I am not of this world. I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.'" To believe on Christ savingly means to believe the right things about Christ. There is no escaping this.  I hope that you enjoyed this devotional as much as I did.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I pray that you realize that the Lord takes great delight in you. Rest in His radiant Presence this night and be filled with His Love, Joy and Peace.  I pray that you realize that He is above all things; and that He is able to get you through any problem that comes your way.  I pray that as you trust in the Lord and spend time with Him daily you will begin to experience the reality of His Presence in your daily life.  Accept each day as it comes to you and do not waste your time wishing for a different set of circumstances.  Yield to what the Lord has for you this day and never forget that NOTHING can separate you from HIS loving Presence!!!  You belong to Him and He care for those He loves.  Allow Him to fight for you so that you can rest in the light of His love!! In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen… I love you all!!!   God bless you!!!

The God of Ordinary Men
So when the Lord saw that he turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, "Moses, Moses!" And he said, "Here I am."
—Exodus 3:4

As far as we know, Moses hadn't heard from God for 40 years. Then God spoke to him and called him. And how did He do it? Through a burning bush. It was not uncommon for a bush to catch fire. A bolt of lightning could have caused that. But Moses had never seen a bush that perpetually burned. God was doing something out of the ordinary that got Moses' attention. And then He spoke.

Notice what God said to Moses: "I am the God of your father—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob" (Exodus 3:6). When we hear those names, we think of them as great patriarchs of the faith—and indeed they were. But let's consider each one for a moment. Abraham certainly was a man of God, but he had serious lapses of faith. Isaac was blessed, but he often didn't listen to the Lord. And Joseph's faux pas were legendary. Yet these men were powerfully used by God.

It's as though God was saying, "Moses, I am the God of men who have failed. I am the God of ordinary men who have accomplished extraordinary things. Moses, if I can use Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, then I can surely use you. Are you up for that? Are you ready to go? I am aware of what is happening to my people in Egypt."

Moses was 80 years old. That is past retirement age. Yet God was saying, "You are just where I wanted you to be. You are just the man that I want."

It seems that God goes out of His way to choose the most unlikely candidates. God sees your potential, even when you don't. God sees you for what you will become in the days ahead.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night...

Tonight I Pray that you realize that God is our strength and our refuge.  He is an ever present help in time of trouble. No matter what may happen He can meet all of our needs.  I pray that as you lie on your face before the Lord that you will find more than you ever dreamed possible. When we come before Him with an attitude of thanksgiving, He will pour out a blessing upon us that will fill us with His joy no matter what we are going through in this life.  For it is under His wings that we will find refuge.  His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. I pray that you don’t try to figure out what is happening.  Instead, simply trust in the Lord and thank Him knowing that only good will come out of it For He has plans for us and they are good.  Oh Lord I pray that the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight, my Rock and my Redeemer.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!! ♥♥

Those Museum Pieces

Now I do not think that Satan much cares to destroy us Christians physically. The soldier dead in battle who died performing some deed of heroism is not a great loss to the army but may rather be an object of pride to his country. On the other hand the soldier who cannot or will not fight but runs away at the sound of the first enemy gun is a shame to his family and a disgrace to his nation.

So a Christian who dies in the faith represents no irreparable loss to the forces of righteousness on earth and certainly no victory for the devil. But when whole regiments of professed believers are too timid to fight and too smug to be ashamed, surely it must bring an astringent smile to the face of the enemy; and it should bring a blush to the cheeks of the whole Church of Christ. The devil's master strategy for us Christians then is not to kill us physically (though there may be some special situations where physical death fits into his plan better), but to destroy our power to wage spiritual warfare. And how well he has succeeded.

The average Christian these days is a harmless enough thing. God knows. He is a child wearing with considerable self-consciousness the harness of the warrior; he is a sick eaglet that can never mount up with wings; he is a spent pilgrim who has given up the journey and sits with a waxy smile trying to get what pleasure he can from sniffing the wilted flowers he has plucked by the way. Such as these have been reached. Satan has gotten to them early.

By means of false teaching or inadequate teaching, or the huge discouragement that comes from the example of a decadent church, he has succeeded in weakening their resolution, neutralizing their convictions and taming their original urge to do exploits; now they are little more than statistics that contribute financially to the upkeep of the religious institution. And how many a pastor is content to act as a patient, smiling curator of a church full (or a quarter full) of such b lessed spiritual museum pieces.
