Word of the Day... February 28, 2014....

Whose Fault Is It?
As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.  And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?”  Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. John 9:1-3

Jesus encountered this man who was born blind, and His disciples asked Him whose sin had caused the blindness.  Jesus responded,

“Neither this man or his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.”

Sometimes God allows us to experience difficulty, hardship and suffering in order that He might accomplish His work in our lives.  In this chapter I was so moved by what Jesus did here when He spit in the mud and made the paste and placed it on this guy’s eyes.  So many people look at this and get grossed out by the spit but when you think about it I don’t think it is gross at all.  It is Jesus placing His DNA on that dust to make a miraculous mud that would allow a blind man from birth to see.

When Jesus comes into the picture everything changes, as it did in my own life and I can tell you that I will never be the same!!!  I will never forget that day when the doctors told me that I had small cell lung cancer.  It was like the bottom of my life fell out.  It was devastating!!!  The wonderful thing about having lung cancer was that it brought me much closer to Jesus Christ.   I will never forget the scripture that the Lord gave to me the day I came home from the hospital.

But when Jesus heard this, He said, “This sickness is not to end in death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified by it.”  John 11:4

This has become my life verse and has changed my life forever.  I am now four years lung cancer free and I thank Jesus for every day that I have!!!  I realize that even though we live in a fallen world and are going to face adversities in this life, but as Christians’ we never have to face them alone.  We have a mighty Lord that knows what is on the road ahead of us.  No matter how dark or foggy it becomes, we only have to hold tightly to His hand and He will lead us into the light of His great love!!!  Just put all of your trust in Him!!! I hope that you have a Simply Heavenly day and may God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... February 27, 2014...

Part of the FamilyAs we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function, so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.  —Romans 12:4–5
Sometimes people treat churches like restaurants — with a consumer mentality. I want to go to this restaurant. Oh, we went there two weeks ago. Let's go to this other one. . . . But the church is not a restaurant. The church is a family, and you need to be a part of the family.

You also need to engage. Maybe one of the reasons some people feel as though they aren't getting enough out of church is because they attend intermittently and don't commit themselves. But if they would settle in and become a part of what God is doing, it would change for them.

If you have been attending a church for more than a couple of years, then you ought to be involved in a ministry of some kind. You may not be called to preach, but there are lots of other things to do. There is something for everyone. The Bible tells us, "So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them" (Romans 12:5-6).

It's fine to come and be served in the church. But there has to come a point when you start growing up and decide to start serving. And then you will find that everything changes for you.

So let's stop thinking of the church as them and start thinking of the church as us. Be a part of the family. Take the gifts that God has given you, develop them, and use them for His glory. I suggest that church would completely change for us if we stop coming as spectators and instead join the team.  This devotional from Pastor Greg got me even more inspired to share the good news of Jesus Christ!  We all have a job to do within the Body of Christ, we only have to be open to the Holy Spirit to hear His voice and be obedient to His call.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I Pray that you experience the intimacy and love of God - that you "know" Him as never before and are consumed by His being!!...That you feel His longing and desire for you!! I command all spirits of confusion to loose their hold on your life and you to be released from the hold of any evil strongman in the name of Jesus!! Let every tree planted by fear in your life dry up to the roots and every seed of bitterness, anger and resentment be released from your mind, heart and soul! I speak His peace over you, your family and purpose! You are preserved and protected by His blood! Cast all your cares over to Jesus – for He cares for you.  In Jesus name, Amen and Amen.  God bless you!!!! ♥♥♥

Word Of the Day... February 26, 2014...

As a Christian is it ever okay to compromise God’s Word for any reason? When we compromise we are making concessions or accommodations with someone who doesn’t follow a prevalent set of standards and rules.  The Bible is very clear that God does not condone compromising His standards:  In Psalm 119:1-4 it says:

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the instructions of the LORD. Joyful are those who obey His laws and search for Him with all their hearts. They do not compromise with evil, and they walk only in His paths. You have charged us to keep Your commandments carefully.”

This scripture tells us that those who follow the Word of God are joyful and blessed.  They are people of righteousness.  They are totally devoted in their relationship with the Lord.  We do not compromise or deviate from His standards but “walk only in His path.” We hear only God’s voice (1 Kings 18:21; John 8:47; John 10:27), and we do not yield to or permit any deviation from His Word (Deuteronomy 4:2; Psalm 119:128; Revelation 22:18-19). Not compromising requires our unswerving submission to Him and to Him only, regardless of the world’s concession to godlessness (Joshua 24:15; Psalm 119:10; Psalm 119:15).

Many people are talking about the new movie Son of God that is coming out on Friday.  The problem I have with this movie is that it is not Biblical. In the movie in the boat scene Jesus tells Peter:  “I am giving you the chance to change your life, give up catching fish and I will make you a fisher of men.” Peter answers “What are we going to do?” showing he still does not really understand if Jesus is divine or why it would be necessary for people to know Jesus. And the Jesus character’s answer is “Change the world.”  There is no mention of sin, acknowledging of Jesus as God in the flesh or a real salvation message. Instead it is almost a social justice message. Jesus Christ did not come to change the world, He came to save it from its sin.  Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me. (John 14:6).

I have heard many Christians say: “I know the movie is not Biblical and there are errors in this movie, but Even though there’s a lot of errors in this movie, still, don’t you think it’s a great way to show people who God really is, I mean, can’t God use anything to save someone?  Or they are saying: “we're going to see this movie with a critical eye to find out how the story of our Jesus is being presented in and to the world. This may be one of the only pictures of Jesus that people may have ever seen and we'd like to be able to discern if the Jesus of the film is actually the Jesus of the Bible. And if it's not, how can we guide them through the truths and untruths of the film toward our very real and very holy Savior?”

I really liked how Sunny Shell answered this question in her blog:   "No, I don’t think this movie is a great way to reveal the truth about God since it’s filled with lies about God. And yes, I realize God can use anything to save someone, but He only chose to use the message of the true Gospel to save all men (John 14:6, Acts 4:12). Nowhere in Scripture does God command or allow His children to use the work of Satan to proclaim His truth. And God is clear, anyone who denies Him and defiles His holy character or word, works for the devil, not for God. Since the beginning of time, the devil has attempted to minimize and blaspheme God’s holy character by lulling us to disregard His holiness, justice and righteousness. God has never called His children of light to partner with the works of darkness (2 Cor 6:15-16). As God’s children, we are commanded to pursue holiness, rather than try to find a way to compromise the glory of Christ in order to ‘reach more people’."

I really loved what Ray Comfort said on his Facebook page:  “It’s been brought to my attention, by a reliable source who conducted thorough research, that there are a number of unbiblical and very questionable things in “The Bible” television series–about the deity of Christ, the character of God, and the reality of sin (among other things). In light of this recent revelation, I cannot endorse this series. If you choose to watch it, I would urge you to do so with a discerning heart, testing all things.”  The Son of God movie is a re-broadcast from “The Bible” miniseries that aired on the History Channel in spring of 2013 which only includes the scenes pertaining Jesus Christ except this time they’re cutting out Satan from those scenes as well as having a cross-less crucifixion. There can be no salvation without the cross of Jesus Christ."

Am I the only one who is really bothered by the fact that Rick Warren is going to be making a six week study guide on the Son of God movie? What kind of a pastor encourages his flock to study a film that is so unBiblical? What happened to getting into the BIBLE and studying THE WORD OF GOD verse by verse? The Bible is the Word of God, it is God's Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. He left it for us to not only grow closer to Him because Jesus IS THE WORD, but also to know how to navigate through this very sinful world in which we live.  To rewrite or omit anything from the Bible is not only blasphemous but it is an attempt by Rick Warren, Joel Osteen, TD Jakes and Roma Downey to negate the true Diety of Jesus Christ as the SON of God who came to die for our sins.  He didn't come to cause a social change, he didn't come to earth to gain popularity, he didn't come here to "change the world" by making a trend. No. God sent Him here to die for our sins.  Sure He taught us while He was on earth but Jesus died on the cross of Calvary for our sins.  That's more than enough.  He doesn't need us humans to create another purpose for his life on earth.  The fact that He was tortured and died for our sins, that He offered up Himself as a Holy and pure sacrifice is MORE THAN ENOUGH and MORE than any of us deserve.

As believers, we must “see to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Jesus Christ” (Colossians 2:8;). We are also commanded to be “prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you …” (1 Peter 3:15). In other words, we are commanded not only to remain faithful to the Word but to defend it and correct those who are in opposition to it (2 Timothy 2:24-25). God is serious about our not compromising His Word with the values of the world—the reason being that those outside of Christ may then “come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil …” (2 Timothy 2:26).

How does someone compromise the Word of God?

When we fail to accept the Word: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

When we place our desires, and that of others, ahead of the Word of God: “While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.”” (Acts 5:4).

GODS SAYS WOE UNTO THEM THAT CALL EVIL GOOD AND GOOD EVIL.
Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness;
Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20

As true believers in Christ, we must accept God’s Word as absolute, inerrant truth (2 Timothy 3:16). We must be fully obedient to His Word (John 14:15; 1 John 5:3; 2 John 1:6). And we must recognize that His Word is not to be compromised for any reason or for anyone (Deuteronomy 17:11; Proverbs 24:7; Revelation 3:15).  I will stand on His Word.  I hope that you all have a wonderful day.  God bless you!!!

A Change of DirectionWe must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in our bodies.        —2 Corinthians 5:10

One morning as Alfred Nobel was reading the newspaper, he was shocked to find his name listed in the obituary column. It was a mistake, but nonetheless, there it was. He was stunned to see that he was primarily remembered as the man who invented dynamite. At that time in history, dynamite was used in great effect for warfare. It distressed Nobel to think that all he would be known for was inventing dynamite, something that was used to take the lives of others.

As a result of reading this mistaken obituary, Nobel decided to change the course of his life. He committed himself to world peace and established what we know today as the Nobel Peace Prize. When the name Alfred Nobel is mentioned today, dynamite is rarely the first thing that comes to mind. Rather, we think of the prize that bears his name. It's all because Alfred Nobel decided to change the course his life was taking.

Another man, living centuries before, also changed the negative course his life was taking. His name was Paul, formerly known as Saul of Tarsus. Known as a relentless persecutor of the early church, he was determined to stop the spread of Christianity. But after a dramatic conversion on the Damascus Road, Paul devoted the rest of his life to preaching the gospel and building the church. Today we remember him as a missionary, church planter, and author of thirteen New Testament epistles.

If you were to somehow attend your own funeral and hang around during the time when people came to the microphone, what do you think they would say? For what would you be remembered? It isn't too late to change your direction.

I really enjoy Greg Laurie’s teaching because he speaks to our heart.  It is not too late to make that change in your own life.  You can choose yourself how you want to be remembered later and then make the change!  For my life I choose to walk with Jesus.  I hope that you have a Simply Heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I PRAY THAT you realize that understanding will never bring you peace.  That is why the Lord Jesus asks us to trust in HIM and not lean on our own understanding.  Human beings always want to figure things out, in order to gain a sense of mastery over our own lives. That as the world presents you with these problems and another set of problems pops up to challenge you, the relief you had anticipated it short-lived. Soon your mind is gearing up again: searching for understanding (mastery of your own problems), instead of seeking the Lord. I pray that the Peace of the Lord is not an elusive goal hidden at the center of some complicated maze. I pray that you realize you can have HIS Peace, which is inherent when you are in HIS Presence. As you look to the Lord Jesus you will gain awareness of HIS Precious Peace. I pray that no matter what storms may come to try and upset that balance, that you stop and affirm your trust in HIM alone. Leave everything in HIS capable hands. Through trusting prayers, resting in His sovereign control, rejoice in HIM! As you trust in him, He will watch over you continually. You are his child and HE has engraved you on the palm of His hands. I pray you realize how great you are loved! In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen… I love you all!!!...  God bless you!!!!! ♥♥♥

Word of the Day... February 24, 2014...

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

I have had so many of you ask me how you can get over your fear of sharing Jesus with people.  The most important thing to remember is that you keep it simple and share what the Lord has done in your own life.

Many of you were raised as a Christian and just don’t believe that you have an exciting enough testimony to move someone.  That simply isn't true.  I believe that every single time someone comes to Jesus Christ it is a miracle.

My grandson is a great example of the simplicity of sharing the love of Jesus Christ.  He is twelve years old and just goes where the Holy Spirit leads him.

He went to an interview for a school he wants to attend next year and when the teacher asked him what he likes to do in his spare time he told her; “I like to play soccer, football and swim.  But my favorite thing is to spend some time with Jesus every day.  He is my best friend in the whole world.”  She looked at Alaka’i and told him, “I wish I had that kind of relationship with Jesus.”  Alaka’i told her that she could have that kind of relationship with Him and asked her if she would like to pray with him.  He held her hands and prayed with her to ask Jesus to come into her heart and forgive her of her sin and to bless her as she begins her walk with Him. In Jesus name, Amen.  The woman had tears in her eyes as my grandson finished praying with her and she thanked him for taking the time to share Jesus Christ with her.

I don’t know if my grandson will get into that school but I was so happy that he shared the love of Jesus that I no longer cared if he got into the school.  Then yesterday while out with his parents they stopped to get ice cream.  As he was licking his ice cream cone he noticed a woman with a large brace on her leg.  He heard her tell another woman that her leg hurt. As they got up to leave he gave his mother the last of his cone to hold and he went to the woman and asked her if he could pray with her. He put his hand on her shoulder and prayed that Jesus heal her leg and take away her pain. She was so nice and she began to cry.  She told him that she felt blessed.

As Christians we need to show people that Jesus loves them in how we live our lives and the joy of the Lord that we have.  If we can be sensitive to the Holy Spirit inside of each one of us and follow where He leads us we will be so very blessed and be a blessing to others.

Did the woman with the brace find Jesus as her Savior?  I don’t know but she did see the love of Jesus in action and it touched her heart.  Maybe the Lord was using Alaka’i as one of many to lead her to salvation.  Not only was she blessed but I was blessed when my daughter came home and shared it with me. Each one of us can be used by the Holy Spirit if we are open to Him. God is good all the time!!!  I hope you have a Simply Heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... February 23, 2014....

The Good in Guilt Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.  —Romans 3:23–24

When Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of the Sherlock Holmes stories, wanted to play a practical joke on twelve of his friends, he sent a note to each of them that simply read, "Flee at once. All is discovered." Within twenty-four hours, all twelve friends had left the country. That's what you call a guilty conscience.

If you ask me, I think we could use a little more guilt in our society. Guilt does serve a purpose. What good can possibly come from guilt? The same good that comes from that warning system in our bodies called pain. If you step on a piece of glass, your body sends a warning signal: "Stop! Don't go any further!" In the same way, God has installed a warning system called guilt into our souls, and we experience it when we do something wrong. Just as pain tells us there is a physical problem that must be dealt with or the body will suffer, guilt tells us something is wrong spiritually and needs to be confronted and cleansed.

So you see, guilt isn't necessarily a bad thing. The guilt feeling we experience is the symptom of the real problem, which is sin. All of the psychological counseling in the world can't relieve a person of his or her guilt. We can pretend it is not there or try to find someone else to blame for our problems. But the only real and effective way to remove our guilt is to get to the root of the problem, which is sin.

I really enjoyed this devotion this morning.  Pastor Greg nails it every time and I am blessed!!! I thank the Lord for my guilty conscience.  I have seen some people with none at all so I praise Jesus when I feel that tinge of guilt and I know I need to go to the person that I wronged and try to make it right.  It isn’t easy to admit that you have made a mistake and were wrong, but when you do you feel so free from the bondage of that sin.  The freedom far outweighs that fear of admitting you were wrong.  I hope you all have a Simply Heavenly day!!! God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... February 22, 2014....

Jesus was going through all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues and proclaiming the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.  Matt. 9:35

Doctors make up one of the most respected segments of our society. And yet some people think they're supposed to be miracle workers, and they get upset when the physician doesn't instantly know what's wrong with them. One thing is for certain: The days of doctors making house calls are long gone.

Except for one. In Matthew 9, Jesus calls Himself a physician as He's making a house call to those who need Him. You see, the world suffers from a sin disease. Every person has it, and no one can cure it except for Jesus. He's a specialist in it, and He has a 100 percent cure rate.

In verse 9, Jesus calls a tax collector named Matthew with these words: "Follow Me." Matthew immediately gets up, leaves his tax booth, and follows Him. And the first thing he does is prepare a feast and invite his friends to meet Jesus (see v. 10).

Matthew wanted to show off his Savior. He wanted to share his faith with his friends. Just as Jesus went out to find Matthew, so Matthew goes out and invites his friends to come over for supper. That's evangelism. (More people will come to a dinner than they will a prayer meeting, and Matthew knew that.)

So Jesus sits and eats with a crowd that is unclean, ritualistically. Verse 10 calls them "tax collectors and sinners." The Pharisees were quick to criticize Him, but Jesus wasn't doing anything sinful. He was sharing His life with them and loving them. The thing that angered the Pharisees was not that these sinners wanted to be with Jesus, but that Jesus wanted to be with them.

For a Jew to associate with a Gentile, especially to eat with one, meant that Jew became one with the Gentile. Thus, Jesus was becoming one with tax collectors and sinners. Jesus answers the Pharisees' criticism with: "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick" (v. 12). In other words, "Where else would you find a doctor? They're sick. That's why I'm here. I'm making a house call. I'm here to minister to them."

You see, the gospel is not for good people. The gospel is for bad people who know they are bad and need to come to Jesus Christ for forgiveness and cleansing. People become Christians for the same reason sick people go to a physician for treatment—because they are convinced they need to.

There are people who don't like going to doctors, and others see their symptoms and say, "You ought to go to a doctor." "No, I don't need to." And there are people who won't come to God because they're convinced they don't have a need. They say, "I don't need to come to God. I'm good enough the way I am." People will seek salvation when they know they're lost.

Jesus' reference to "those who are sick" (v. 12) speaks of the Pharisees and their narrow, ritualistic religion. They claimed to be well. They claimed to be righteous. But they were the sickest of all because they did not care for those who were lost. Formalized religion can blind people to their need, making them think they are righteous when they're only self-righteous, cutting off the cure of Christ for their sins.
Nobody is righteous apart from the blood of Christ. "There is none righteous, no, not one" (Romans 3:10). There's no hope or help for a person who thinks, "I'm good enough," until they recognize, "I'm a sinner. I need Jesus Christ."

May God help us in our approach to the sin-sick world. May we be a friend to them—not becoming like them, but loving them, reaching out to them, and bringing them to the Great Physician for healing.

I really enjoy Pastor Skip's teachings I always learn so much from him and I appreciate his gift of teaching the Bible.  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.  have a Simply Heavenly day!!! God bless you!!!

The Lord is the stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows those who trust in Him. He loves us with an amazing all-encompassing love that is perfect!!! He will provide us with the strength that we need to move forward in our walk with Him.  I pray that whenever you start to feel afraid you hold tightly to HIS hand.  He will lead you on the road ahead and no matter how dark or foggy it may seem He knows the way!!!  He is always alert and active and He will protect us from all dangers. I pray that you put all of your trust in our good Shepherd Jesus and you can begin to rest in HIS sheltering Presence!!!  Walk in that faith!!!  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen!!! I Love You All!!!  God Bless You!!!

Word of the Day... February 21, 2014....

Through the StormThat day when evening came, he said to his disciples, "Let us go over to the other side."  —Mark 4:35

In the gospel of Mark, we find an interesting story in which Jesus invited the disciples, some of whom were seasoned fishermen, to join Him on a little boat trip across the Sea of Galilee. But on the way over, they encountered a sudden, violent storm.

Now the question would arise, did Jesus know that a storm was coming? The answer is yes. In fact, you might even say that it was a part of His curriculum that day. It was all part of teaching the disciples to believe what they claimed to believe.

We don't want to make light of what these disciples were experiencing, because I'm sure this was a very harsh storm and a terrifying experience. Several on board had seen many storms on the Sea of Galilee, so it had to have been a most unusual storm for the disciples to be so gripped by fear. According to Mark's gospel, the waves were breaking over the boat and filling it with water. The disciples were very afraid, but they didn't have to be.

Before they left, Jesus had made a significant statement they apparently had forgotten about: "Let us go over to the other side." And when God says, "Let us go over to the other side," it means you will get to the other side. He didn't say it would be smooth sailing. He didn't say it would be an easy trip. But He did say, "Let us go over to the other side."

Often we are gripped by fear and cease to think logically when we forget God's Word to us. That is exactly what happened to the disciples. But Jesus was on board with them, and He was there to see them through.

I really enjoyed this devotional today!  Pastor Greg makes everything so easy to understand and I am so happy I have Jesus so I never have to fear anything because He is in my boat.  I hope you have a Simply Heavenly day.  God bless you!!!

God's Free Gift
The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.  —Romans 6:23

Many years ago, I was given some free tickets to Disneyland. I was walking around the park having a good time, but I started to feel guilty because I had two extra tickets. I thought maybe there was someone outside who wanted to come in but perhaps couldn't afford it. So I decided to go outside and find someone to give the tickets to. I noticed some kids hanging out in front of the park. I walked up and said, "Hi. I have two free tickets to Disneyland. Would you like them?"

"What are you doing, man?"
"Just two free tickets," I said.
"How much is it going to cost us?"
"It won't cost you anything. I have some extra. I would just like you to have them."
"No."

I went to someone else. "Hi. I have these two free tickets to Disneyland. I would like to give them to you." Again and again, I received the same response. It took forty minutes to give away those tickets.

People are suspicious, and the same is true when it comes to spiritual things. We say, "The way to be forgiven of your sin and to have eternal life is to turn from your sin, receive Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and Savior, and begin to follow Him."

People respond, "That's too easy. What's the catch? What else do I have to do?" In our pride, we want to think we have something to do with our salvation. But if we will come to God on His terms and do what He says, then we will be forgiven of our sins and have the assurance of eternal life.

As I was reading this devotional from Pastor Greg I was so blessed.  When we meet someone who has something “for free:” we are often skeptical and untrusting.  But the beauty of Jesus and His Gospel is that it is a free gift and there is no catch.  His Word is true!!! I hope you have a Simply Heavenly day!  God bless you!!!

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night….

TONIGHT I PRAY that you come to the Lord and find rest.  He is all around you and wants to bless and restore each one of you.  We need to breathe Him in with each breath we take.  The way ahead can be dark and steep.  Grab unto His hand with openness and trust.  Ask the Holy Spirit within you to order your day and control your thoughts, for the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace.  You can have as much of HIS peace as you want, through correct choices that you make with Him each day. Choose to get closer to Him through His Word and prayer, so that He will be an ever present help in times of trouble.  As you savor this gift, you find HIM.  When you abide in Him, you find joy and peace.  His peace will never leave you even until the end of time.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I love you all!!!!  God bless you!!!!

The Mother Who Prayed
Jesus answered and said to her, "O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.
—Matthew 15:28

When we are praying for something that we believe to be the will of God, we shouldn't give up. Keep asking, keep seeking, and keep knocking — that is what Jesus told us to do. In fact, when Jesus saw the great faith of a mother from Canaan who was doing this very thing, He gave her carte blanche, so to speak: "Let it be to you as you desire."

This mother believed that what she was asking was the will of God, and she would not give up. Maybe you, like this mother, have a child who is under the Devil's influence today. He or she has rejected your influence, at least for now. It is tough because you have raised this child in the ways of the Lord. The very thing you have prepared your child for — to become independent — has happened. My advice is, hold on. You will come through it.

That thing you may believe is the worst-case scenario might be the step toward bringing your child to a true, heartfelt faith. The rebellion may be difficult to endure right now. But it also may be short-term, and it may be what it takes to bring your child to a place of realizing his or her own need for Jesus Christ. Our kids need to get these convictions in their hearts as their convictions, not just as Mom or Dad's convictions. It may mean a detour into the land of the prodigals. It may mean hitting bottom. But don't give up.

This devotional from Pastor Greg has a special place in my heart.  I have trained my children up in the way of the Lord and when they were younger they strayed.  I am so thankful that my God is large and in charge and led them back to Him.  I really believe that all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.  I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!

When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.”  And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with us? My hour has not yet come.” John 2:3-4

Mary knew from the very beginning that her Son Jesus was very special.  An angel had appeared to her, telling her about the Son that she would have, and she conceived that child without having physical relations with a man. For thirty years she had watched Jesus growing up, wondering when He would reveal His nature to the world.  For thirty years the people around her had whispered, suggesting that she had given birth to an illegitimate son.  But now Jesus had been baptized and had chosen some disciples,  and it looked like something was going to start happening.  And if Jesus would reveal Himself openly, it would exonerate her from all of the whispers.

So, they were guests at this wedding in Cana and the wine had run out.  She came to Jesus and said, “They have no wine.”  No doubt she thought that this would be the perfect time for Jesus to demonstrate His power.  Jesus responded to her by saying, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”  In other word, “Mom what am I going to do with you? This isn't the time.”

Everyone was in a big hurry to have Jesus introduced as the Messiah except for Jesus.  He knew that it was a matter of timing in order to fulfill the Scriptures.  It would have to be exactly 483 years from the declaration to restore and rebuild Jerusalem (Daniel 9:25).  He would need to be riding a donkey (Zechariah9:9).  Jesus wouldn’t let anyone but the Father dictate His timing.  And His timing is always perfect.  Then He proceeded to turn the water into wine, quietly and simply. What a mighty Lord we serve!!!

    Empty Net Syndrome
Simon Peter said, "I'm going fishing." "We'll come, too," they all said. So they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night.   —John 21:3

It was déjà vu time for the disciples. They had been fishing all night on the Sea of Galilee and hadn't caught anything. The Lord had risen and had already appeared to some of the disciples. There were no clear marching orders, so they thought they would go back to what they knew how to do: fish.

Now it was early in the morning, probably still dark. They saw a figure standing on the shore. He called out, "Fellows, have you caught any fish?" (John 21:5, NLT).

Throughout the Bible, God often asked probing questions when He wanted a confession. In the same way, Jesus was asking His disciples, "Did you catch anything? Have you been successful? Have things gone the way you had hoped they would go? Are you satisfied?"

Why did Jesus want them to admit their failure? So He could bring them to the place where they needed to be.

When they cast the net on the right side of the boat as Jesus told them to, their net became so heavy with fish that they couldn't pull it in. The Lord was teaching the disciples an important lesson: Failure often can be the doorway to real success.

We need to come to that point in our lives as well. We need to come and say, "Lord, I am not satisfied with the way my life is going. I am tired of doing it my way. I want to do it Your way." If you will come to God like that, He will extend His forgiveness to you. Then He will take your life and transform it in ways you couldn't imagine.

Your Love Guard Me Through The Night....

TONIGHT I PRAY that each one of us step out in faith and take our walk with the Lord Jesus seriously.  That we will begin to realize that as Christians we are justified by faith and faith alone.  That Jesus plus nothing equals everything!!!  I pray that we make time to give God our first fruits and not just our leftovers. To do everything for the glory of God!!! To realize that anything other than God’s will for our life is sin.  That if we are willfully sinning we should question if we are really born again or if we just said the words of a prayer without living the meaning behind them.  That the FREEDOM that the Lord Jesus gives us to be set free from sin and to be joined with HIM in righteousness!!!  Walk in that FREEDOM, for when the SON sets you free you are FREE indeed!  Fall in love with Jesus all over again and begin to live your life for Him.  Rest in the warm glow of His love and let Him cover you with HIS righteousness.  In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen…  I love you all!!!!  God bless you!!! ♥♥♥

The Ultimate Sacrifice
God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.   —John 3:16

I heard a true story about a man who operated a drawbridge. At a certain time every afternoon, he raised the bridge for a ferryboat to go by and then lowered it in time for a passenger train to cross over. He performed this task precisely, according to the clock.

One day he brought his son to work so he could watch. As his father raised the bridge, the boy got excited and wanted to take a closer look. His father realized his son was missing and began looking for him. To his horror, his son had come dangerously close to the bridge's gears. Frantic, he wanted to go rescue him, but if he left the controls, he would not be back in time to lower the bridge for the approaching passenger train.

He faced a dilemma. If he lowered the bridge, his son would be killed. If he left it raised, hundreds of others would die. He knew what he had to do. With tears streaming down his face, he watched the passenger train roll by. On board, two women chatted over tea. Others were reading newspapers. All were totally unaware of what had just transpired. The man cried out, "Don't you realize that I just gave my son for you?" But they just continued on their way.

This story is a picture of what happened at the cross. God gave up His beloved Son so that we might live. But most people don't give it a second thought. How about you? Are you conscious of the ultimate sacrifice God made on your behalf? Will you be sure to thank Him?
