Word of the Day... April 3, 2014...

"You have accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord. Now keep on following him. Plant your roots in Christ and let him be the foundation for your life. Be strong in your faith, just as you were taught. And be grateful." Colossians 2:6-7

I love this scripture and when I read this it reminds me of the beautiful evergreens deep in the forests.  There roots run deep and they stand tall and straight, with their upper branches seeking out the light of the sun in the morning sky.

Sometimes we are in such a hurry in our lives that we forget to stop to take the time to appreciate all that the Lord has created for us to enjoy.  Sometimes we need to just be still and wait upon the Lord.  To breathe in the refreshing smell of the pine needles and the moss that is growing up the sides of the tree.

I want to be like these beautiful old trees that have been rooted deeply and yet every morning the branches at the top of these beautiful trees stretch up to the light of the sun.  I want the roots of my walk with the Lord to run deep and I never want a day to go by that I am not lifting up my arms in praise and thanksgiving to my Lord Jesus who loves me so much that He gave His life for me and is still willing to lead me through the darkness and up into the light of His Presence!!!  I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly day.  God bless you!!!
