Word of the Day... March 11, 2014...


Call Out to Him
2 Corinthians 10:4-5
"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."

"Almighty God: our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor, a struggle to preserve our Republic, our religion, and our civilization, and to set free a suffering humanity. Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith." President Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered these words to our nation on June 6, 1944 and by doing so, he summoned the nation to prayer. That D-Day invasion was the largest military action undertaken in world history to date. Yet, with such a massive act, the President believed it was necessary to call all Americans to pray. Why? Because there is no amount of physical power or military might that could affect the schemes that were physically in play by an invisible world. And so it is for us today. There are invisible powers that seek to influence us. Jesus Christ said that such powers even seek to destroy us. Consider that for a moment...a rebellious son or a runaway daughter is marching to the silent beat of an invisible enemy. A broken marriage or bazaar issues in the workplace are physical manifestations that first originated from a dark world. This is why the Bible encourages us to be understanding of what is really going on behind the scenes. The Apostle Paul reminded the Christians of Greece, "The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." 2 Corinthians 10:4-5


The stress and the hardships of life can sometimes be harder to deal with than an invasion from some physical, foreign power. Cheer up! All is not lost. We can call upon the Lord right now for His protection, His peace, His power, and His skill to fight our battles. We need to see the issues from His vantage point. We need to remember that fighting fire with fire may not be the best strategy. It may be that God is waiting to hear from you - that lone and heartfelt cry for His great help. He wants to help you and He desires to come to your aid. Feeling violated, even invaded? Call out to Him now.


As I read this great devotional from Pastor Jack Hibbs, I couldn’t help but think that as a Christian we think a little differently than the world does.  We begin on our knees and they add prayer to their repertoire.  God is large and in charge and if we allow Him to He will change our lives forever!!!  If you don’t know Jesus and your life is not working, spend some time talking to Jesus.  Ask Him to come into your heart and change you from the inside out.  I can promise you that you will never regret it!!!  Have a Simply heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!
