Word of the Day... June 30, 2013...


Satan The Ultimate Imitator
And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many." Matthew 24:4-5

It seems like they have churches today that will tickle your ears and tell you anything you want to hear.  I like to call these churches the church of okayness.  They are okay with anything even if it goes against the Bible.  The pastors no longer make people feel uncomfortable by preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Bible. That might make some people leave and cost them money.  So they preach on how you can live you best life now. These churches are just a poor imitation of what a Bible based church should be.

Then there are the New Age people who tell you that you too can be your own god.  They will tell you that there are many paths that lead to god.  Not just Christianity. Yoga is great for fitness and centering yourself.  Well it has its basis in Hinduism.  Meditation will help you to relieve your stress and live your best life here on earth it has its roots in Eastern mysticism. Sadly, many Christians have bought into this lie and practice Yoga and TM. All cheap man made imitations of the real God.

There is also the latest thing out there called "Sozo Prayer" is much more closely related to mysticism and spiritism than to true intimacy with God. Sozo is to enable participants to “heal your relationship with God to enable you to fulfill your destiny.” But the Bible tells us that a Christian’s destiny is death to self and obedience to Christ through faith in His power and saving grace (Luke 9:23; Ephesians 2:8-9). The things that make us one with God are produced by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22), and a Christian does not need to be led on a mystical prayer journey to attain them. Every believer is conformed to Christ’s image by His power and has already been blessed with “every spiritual gift in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 1:3).

Whenever something is popular, whenever something is successful, whenever something is effective, you can be sure there always will be cheap imitations.

Satan is the master imitator and he is very good at what he does. He makes everything look so good so holy and healthy and simply wonderful.  But it is just a cheap imitation. For all the real Christians who believe in Jesus, he has his fake believers out there—posers who pretend to be something they are not. We have real miracles performed by the hand of God, and Satan has his fake imitations of those as well. God has His Son, Jesus. And one day Satan will have his son, his own imitation of Jesus, the Antichrist. This man will be history's vilest embodiment of sin and rebellion.

We all have a choice to make.  Who are we going to serve?  Are you going to stand up for Jesus or Satan and the Anti-Christ?  The Bible tells us that you cannot serve two masters for you will love one and hate the other.  It will come down to serving Jesus or serving Satan. 

Do all religions lead to God? Actually they do. All but one leads to His judgment. Only one—Christianity—leads to His forgiveness and eternal life. No matter what religion one embraces, everyone will meet God after death (Hebrews 9:27). If you make the right choice, then you can know with certainty that your name will be written in the Book of Life. But if it is not written in the Book of Life, then you are doomed for all eternity.  Don’t be fooled, God will not be mocked a man will reap what he sows.

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Thank you so much for loving me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again!

Word of the Day... June 29, 2013


These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

I really enjoy the teaching in this book.  John gives us assurance of our salvation in this epistle.  He tells us that those who believe in Jesus Christ could know that they have eternal life.

There are many people that believe that they can’t be sure they are saved until they die.  Wouldn’t that be the worst possible time to find out that you weren’t really saved and that you were not headed to heaven but to hell?  

I don’t want to wait until I die.  I need assurance now.  The best thing is we can know right now.

Eternal life does not start sometime in the future.  It starts the moment that you ask Jesus into your heart to be your Lord and Savior!!! We have His assurance on it!!

Word of the Day... June 28, 2013


Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

I do believe this with all of my heart. As Christians we have three great enemies: sin, Satan, and death.  When I read this scripture I believe Jesus and I know that when I die, I will be with Jesus!!! Like that old song says because He lives I can face tomorrow.  Because He lives all fear is gone. I know what my future holds.  Because I am a child of God I no longer have to fear death or hell. Jesus told us “I Am the resurrection and the life” He who believes in Me shall never die and I know that I can believe it.

I know that as long I am in this fallen body that I will make mistakes and sin.  I am so thankful that I have Jesus to go to.  As Christians in this period of time we are so lucky to have a completed Bible and the precious Holy Spirit to help us and guide us.  As we read the Word we become stronger and more in tune with the Holy Spirit. He is our greatest Helper.

As far as Satan goes, well Jesus defeated him at the cross.  I am not going to worry about him.  I have the Holy Spirit and my Bible that will get me through anything. Jesus told us: In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.  If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also. (John14: 2-3).  You don’t know just how happy that makes me!!!

I can't even wrap my mind around how hopeless our lives would be if these promises were not true. Every cemetery would be a monument to despair and the futility of human life.  But thank the Lord Jesus His words are true!!!


What a glorious hope we have….  Jesus is alive!!!  Maranatha!!!

Word of the Day... June 27, 2013.....



We Don't Fool God
  If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 1 John 1:8

I have been reading 1 John during my devotionals and I was so happy to see that Pastor Greg was as well.  When I read this this morning I knew that I had to share this.  I hope that you enjoy this as much as I did.  It really spoke to my heart.

I think the word "hypocrite" is misused a lot. For example, if you happen to be hammering away on something and suddenly miss the nail and hit your thumb, you might scream a word that you should not have. And if a nonbeliever overhears you, he or she might call you a hypocrite. But are you really a hypocrite?

I don't think so. I think you are a human.

I am not excusing sin; I am just explaining it. We are all sinners. And Christians do still sin, unfortunately. The Bible says, "If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness" (1 John 1:8–9).

It is only a matter of time until we will fall short in some way, shape, or form. We will say the wrong thing. We won't do the right thing. But that doesn't make us hypocrites; that just makes us flawed.

A hypocrite is different. Originally, the word "hypocrite" simply meant "actor." In the dramas of early Greece, an actor would hold a mask in front of his face as he was portraying a character. When the mask was in front of his face, he was the hypocrite. It wasn't a negative word.

To call someone a hypocrite today, however, is a criticism—even an insult.
Judas was a hypocrite. He pretended to be something he was not. So it is when we act as though we are Christians and we are not. We may fool a few people. We may even fool some of the people all of the time. But we never will fool God any of the time.


I am so happy that even though the Lord sees us exactly as we are, that He still loves us!  I hope that all of you have a Simply Heavenly day.  Go out there and share the love of Jesus with someone today…  It could change an eternity…..  God bless you!!!

Keeping In God’s Love
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,  keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21

The book of Jude was written by Jude, the half- brother of Jesus Christ. They had the same mother (Mary) but Jude’s and James father was Joseph.  It is interesting that  Jude and James did not use their relationship with Jesus Christ to attain special status. They both described themselves as being a bondservant to Jesus Christ.

Both Jude and James had difficulty accepting who Jesus really was until after the Resurrection.  Seeing their brother rise from the dead changed everything for them and they both served as leaders in the early church as humble servants of Jesus Christ.

I love this verse.  It is so important that we all keep in God’s love.  God loves us so very much.  He proved this when He sent His only Son to earth to die a brutal terrible death in our place. I believe that He went to this extreme because He wants to have fellowship with us.

Because the Lord loves us so very much, He has many blessings that He wants to bestow upon us.  But we need to be walking in His Spirit, obeying Him, trusting in Him in order for Him to bless us.

So keep yourself in the love of God.  Keep yourself in the place where God can do the things for you that He wants to. Keep your lamps filled with oil, for our Lord is coming soon.

Word of the Day... June 24, 2013...


Nothing to Show
“I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.”  Revelation 3:11

This was from my devotional last week and I really felt led to share it with you. It is Pastor Greg Laurie’s Devotional and I get really blessed when I read it.

Did you know that it is possible to have a saved soul and a lost life? A saved soul means that you are saved because you believe in Jesus and not because of the works you do. You have turned from your sin and put your faith in Christ. And God has a plan for your life: He wants you to serve Him.

But a lot of Christians don't do that much for the Lord, though they should. And this means they have a lost life. The Bible says that we will stand before God one day, and our work will be tested to see what sort it is (see 1 Corinthians 3:12–14). If it is built on the wrong foundation, then it will be burned up, but our soul will be saved.

Jesus said, "I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take away your crown" (Revelation 3:11). Hold fast. Hang on. Don't let go. Don't relax your grip. If you do, you could lose your crown.

The crown is a symbol of rewards that are awaiting Christians. To lose your crown means to lose your reward. The Bible speaks of a crown that God gives for our faithfulness to Him (see Revelation 3:11). First Thessalonians 2:19 mentions a crown of rejoicing, which would appear to be a crown for winning souls. Then, in 2 Timothy 4:8, there is a crown of righteousness. James 1:12 speaks of a crown of life for enduring temptation and persevering under trial.

These are the rewards God will give to each of us. But how sad it will be for those who stand before Him on that day and have nothing to show for the life that was given to them.

I believe that we are in the last of the last days and that Jesus is coming very soon.  I would love it if there was no one left behind.  I really believe that if each one of us shared Jesus with one person, it would rock this world!!!

So when you are out and see someone who is sad or stressed out.  Something as simple as a smile could change their whole day.  If they ask you why you are so happy tell them.  Because Jesus saved my life and I am free from the fear of where I will spend my eternity.

 If they ask you how pray with them. Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Thank you so much for loving me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again!

Word of the Day... June 22, 2013...

Delight yourself in the Lord;

And He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.

And your judgment as the noonday. Psalm 37:4-6
When I talk to atheists or people who don’t know the Lord, many times they look at religion as a burden they must fulfill or there will be dire consequences for them. I agree with them and tell them that it isn't religion that brings us joy or saves our soul. It is the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. It is having a relationship with Him. It really is just that simple.

When we accept Jesus into our heart we get His love and peace.  It is a peace that surpasses understanding.  This is a peace that the world can never take from us.  We are not called to worry or to strife.  When we are living in the Spirit and walk in His path, it is one of peace and with joy.  When we are living in Christ we discover such joy, overflowing delight, such blessing that serving Jesus is not a chore it is something that you want to do.  That you will do even if the whole world rejects Him.

We do not fear God because of any compulsion; I never look at being a Christian as being under bondage or being shackled. No one is forcing me to follow Jesus. Christians are not dragged to holiness. I am not driven to serve the Lord.  I serve Jesus Christ because it is my greatest pleasure.  It is my delight.  It is my greatest happiness in life.

Does this mean that being a Christian means we will not suffer the consequences of our sin or living in a fallen world?  Of course not.  What it does mean is that we never have to go through it alone.  I never thought I could say that going through lung cancer would be a joy.  But it was.  When I was going through chemo The Holy Spirit was with me through it all.

 I will never forget a particular day the Lord decided to knock my socks off.  It was a hard morning in chemo and I could feel the poison burning in my veins. I was feeling so physically sick that I was reeling. I was talking to Jesus and asked Him to help me to just get through this terrible day.  Well the Holy Spirit never disappoints us let me tell you.  He filled me with such joy that I could not contain it!!  I began to weep with His joy.  It was then that I realized how large and in charge God is. I knew right then that I would gladly serve Jesus Christ all of the days of my life. 

I love what Charles Spurgeon said so long ago:  Delight and true faith are interwoven as a root is to the flower, as indivisible, as truth and certainty; they are, in fact, two precious stones glittering side by side in a setting of gold. 
‘Tis when we taste Thy love,

Our joys divinely grow,
Unspeakable like those above,
And heaven begins below.

Word of the Day.... June 21, 2013



So Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrew 9:28

Jesus who never ever sinned took our punishment on the cross.  What a mighty Lord we serve that loves us so very much that He was willing to climb on that cross and take the punishment that was rightfully ours….

Imagine yourself being in court and you are about to be judged for every sin that you have ever committed.  Your whole life flashed across the screen in that courtroom and everyone saw every horrible thought, word and deed you have ever committed.

You knew in your mind that you were sunk.  You had absolutely no defense for the crimes that you committed.  Then right as they are ready to haul you off to take the punishment that you so richly deserve, A man stands up in court and offers to go in your place. They haul Him away to die in your place.

Jesus did that for every one of us on the cross at Calvary.  One day, the Lord Jesus Christ will return. And the Bible says, "To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation" (Hebrews 9:28). Are you ready for that day? Are you ready for His return? He is coming for those who are watching and waiting.

 Have you ever put your faith in Jesus Christ? Maybe you have religion. Maybe you have ritual. Maybe you have morality. But these will not get you to heaven. Only Jesus will. 

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Word of the Day.... June 20, 2013



But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,

That shines brighter and brighter until the full day. Proverbs 4:18

As a part of the family of God we are called to be salt and light for Him on earth.  Being about our Father’s business until He calls us home to glory!

He gives us everything that we need to live here and adapt to the world around us while we are here.  When I sit on the beach and watch the birds and the ducks and the water, I can’t help but think how the Lord helps each one to adapt to their environment and its way of life.  Ducks will swim in the lagoons but they never swim in the surf.

Each one of us is a very unique part of the Body of Christ and as such we each have something the Lord wants us to do. I like to watch body surfers in the ocean.  Each part of their body knows exactly what to do to ride the wave and enjoy the exhilarating feeling that comes with it.  You dive under the wave and swim out and wait until you find just the right wave and then start swimming and kicking until you feel the wave begin to carry you all the way to shore.


God has given each one of us something wonderful to do. It is when we are open to the Lord and begin to do what we are called to that the whole body of Christ benefits. Not only that but when you are in the Lord’s will for your life you are blessed beyond belief!  Have a Simply Heavenly Thursday!!!

Word of the Day... June 19, 2013


And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, "Lord, save us! We are perishing!"  Matthew 8:24-25

Have you ever wondered if sometimes the Lord may be sleeping when you are praying?  Have you ever once wondered, Lord?  Are you there?  Can You hear me?

This must be what the Disciples felt like when the storm raged on the Sea of Galilee that night and the waves started to wash over the boat.  Living in Hawaii I have seen the awesome power of the ocean and how it could take a boat like this one and completely destroy it.

I can’t imagine that the boat the Apostles were on was a very big one.  Yet even in the storm Jesus found a place to rest for a little while after a long day of sharing His love with others.  He could rest because He was in His Father’s will and the Disciples should have slept as well.  Jesus told them that they would be fine. And they should have trusted in Him.

Although the storm did not awake Jesus the screams of terror from the Disciples did. What I really love about Jesus is that when they screamed in fear, He answered them immediately and powerfully. 


I think that as Christians we need to stand on that same faith and when we cry out to Jesus during a storm that He will hear our voice and respond to us in the same way. I believe with all of my heart that He loves us just that much!!!  I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly Wednesday!!!  God bless you!

Word of the Day..... June 18, 2013


“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things…”  ~John 14:26~

I am so happy that we have a Lord who cares for us so much that He didn’t leave us as orphans when He ascended into heaven.  He sent us the most awesome Helper.  The precious Holy Spirit!!

It is amazing what the Lord can do in our lives if we allow Him to.  We have a completed Bible and when we take the time to really get into the Word we begin to find out that this very special book is alive!  Every time I read the Bible the Lord shows me something new that I can apply to my life.

I never will forget the day I came home from lung cancer surgery and the Lord gave me this scripture.  It just seemed to jump off of the page to me and I love it.

4 When Jesus heard that, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”  John 11:4 

It was profound and insightful.  I knew that the Lord was speaking to me through His Word.  From then on I realized that this is no ordinary book. When we are reading the Word under the illumination of the Holy Spirit it has the power to change our life for eternity!  It is like the Lord wrote it exactly for you.

This can also happen to you when you are in church.  Have you ever come to church and all of a sudden every single thing that you pastor is talking about is like a personal message to you and you alone?  Then you think wow this word is just for me!  It is as if the pastor has the power to read your mind or to look into your life.

 But this is the work of the Holy Spirit. Only He can do that. He not only converts us and assures us of our salvation, but He teaches us as well.  All we have to do is pray and open The Bible….  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... June 17, 2013 What A Friend We Have In Jesus!!!


I found myself singing this song this morning after my time in the Word and I thought that it would make a great Word of the Day.  It was written in 1857 bu Joseph Scriven and it is just as applicable to our lives today as it was so many years ago.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.


What a Friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer.

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge,
take it to the Lord in prayer.

Word of the Day... June 16, 2013


See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.  Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. 1 John 3:1-3
On this Father’s Day I hope that all of you who are lucky enough to have your father in your life, that you tell him that you love and appreciate him.

A Father is a very special gift from the Lord.  Anyone can have a baby, but it takes a very special man to be a father.  He is the one who takes you to the park and helps you to go down that slide the first time, and you reluctantly close your eyes and slide counting on the fact that he will be at there to catch you.

A Father is the one who holds you tightly at night when you have the worst nightmares and looks under the bed and in the closet to make sure all the monsters are gone.
A Father is someone who wipes the tears from your eyes when your heart has been broken and gives you the best advice on how to get through it.

If you are one of the lucky ones you have your Father there on your wedding day to walk you down the aisle at church and give you away to the man of your dreams.

I lost my Father when I was only nineteen and I still miss him.  But I do have the hope that I will see him again someday in heaven. But I am not alone here.  I have my heavenly Father who has seen me through everything in my life.  He has never left me or forsaken me and for that I am eternally grateful.

Word of the Day... June 15, 2013

"Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near."  Luke 21:28 

I had to share this devotion with you from Pastor Greg Laurie.  It moved my heart so very much that I couldn't help but think it would do the same for you.  Jesus is calling us home very soon!!!  I feel it in my bones and I am excited!!!  People get ready Jesus is coming!!

Over the years people have come up with some crazy theories of who they think the Antichrist is. But according to Scripture, the Antichrist cannot emerge until Christians are caught up to meet the Lord in the air.

The Bible says, "For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming" (2 Thessalonians 2:7–8).

Who is restraining evil today? It is the Holy Spirit, working through the church, working through Christians who stand up for what is right, who speak out against evil, who function as light and salt in our culture. Jesus said that as believers, we are the light of the world, and we are the salt of the earth (see Matthew 5:13–14).

Word of the Day... June 14, 2013


And have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children? He said,
“My child, don’t make light of the Lord’s discipline,
and don’t give up when he corrects you.
For the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.” Hebrew 12:5-6

Sometimes the Lord brings storms into our lives for different reasons.  One of the storms that we face in life are storms of correction.  These are brought on as a result of us rejecting God’s call for our life.

Sometimes we bring on these storms ourselves.  If we deliberately do wrong or hurtful things, we will reap the repercussions of those acts.  God disciplines His children because He loves us that much.

God's doing a work in our lives to conform us to the image of His son Jesus. We have to search for a way to bring glory to God through any of the storms we face, regardless of severity. Sometimes Jesus stops the storm, but even if He doesn't, it's for a purpose and He's always there with us in the storm.

Word of the Day... June 13, 2013


So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Tend My lambs.”  He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Tend My sheep.  John 21:15-17

After they were finished eating Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him and when I looked the word love up her it is the agape love which is a perfect unconditional love. The perfect kind of supreme love that God has for us.

Maybe Jesus was asking Peter if he loved Him more than his livelihood.  I think that Jesus is asking everyone of us, do you love me more than our profession? Do we love Jesus more than the having the height of success in our field of work?

Or maybe “these” could refer to the other people in his life.  Do you love me more than your friends?

Then Peter said “Yes Lord I love (phileo) You. In the Greek phileo is a fondness for someone.  It is a brotherly love but not the unconditional love that Jesus has for each one of us. So Peter was telling the Lord that he was fond of Him.

Then Jesus told him to "feed my lambs".

The Lord is interested in getting His lambs fed.  When we share Jesus with people and they come to the Lord we should feed them like Jesus said to.  The very best way I can think of to feed someone is through study in the Bible and then discussing it.  The Word is our food and the more of the Word we eat the stronger we become.

Then Jesus asked Peter again.  ‘Peter do you love (agape) me?”

Peter answered Him.  Lord you know that I love (phileo) you.  I am fond of You.

Then Jesus told him to take care of His sheep.

Then Jesus asked him a third time: “Peter do you love (phileo) me?  Using the same word that Peter had used when he answered Jesus.

It hurt Peter deeply that Jesus had reduce Himself to Peter's level.

God will always meet us on whatever level we will meet Him. It is tragic when we bring God down to our level, rather than our rising to His level.  God will meet us on whatever level we will meet Him, and He will do His best for us on that level. I'm convinced that we often limit that work of God in our lives, because we won't rise to the level that God wants us to dwell upon.

Jesus will meet us right where we are. He will love us on the level that we allow Him to. And God would have us to live life in the highest plane. He'd draw us to His level if we would allow Him to. How can we show the Lord how much we love Him?  By keeping His commandments and feeding His sheep.

Lately I have been getting so many of you tell me that you think you are not attractive.  I think that we all need to look at ourselves as the Lord sees us and not how the "world" thinks we should look.

As Christians we need to keep our focus on the Lord and not on the world.  When I look through the pages of a fashion magazine there are images that are so photoshopped that create a sick standard that no human could possibly meet.

I would rather concentrate on my inner beauty.  What is in my heart.  The qualities that would reveal God's concept of beauty. The beatitudes reveal some of God’s standards of beauty. An awareness of one’s spiritual poverty, sorrow for sin, hunger and thirst for righteousness, mercy, purity of heart, and being a peacemaker are all qualities of beauty. We should do things that are valued by God: keeping a living faith while enduring physical hardships, controlling the tongue, enduring personal harm to protect the church’s influence, making sacrifices for the good of others, and living by Christian convictions in the face of ridicule. These are all beautiful to God.

However, just as a beautiful appearance can become ugly through neglect, a beautiful life of righteousness can become ugly through neglect. Spiritual beauty must never be taken for granted or be neglected. We must remember that just as it is possible to be one of society’s most impressive people and be ugly in the eyes of God, it is also possible to be an unknown in society and to be radiantly beautiful in His eyes.  God bless you!!! :):)

Word of the Day.... June 11, 2013


6 Anyone who continues to live in Him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know Him or understand who He is. 1 John 3:6

When I first read this verse I was kind of upset.  I was thinking to myself,  “ how am I going to be able to do this, when I am still in this flesh?”  Does this scripture mean that I have to live a perfect life in order to really know God?  If this is true then I am sunk!!!  But the word here for “sin” is in what is called in the Greek the linear present. What John is telling us here is that you can’t just continue to live an unrepentant lifestyle and still be considered a Christian.

It doesn't mean that we aren't going to sin at all.  It is that the pattern of our life changes when we truly are born again.  We become a new creature “IN” Christ Jesus.  We repent of our sin and we have a change of heart.  We don’t want to live the same old way.  We want to live to please the Lord because we have fallen in love with Him. 

Does this mean we are never going to slip up and sin?  No, we all make mistakes but the difference is as we walk with the Holy Spirit daily we change.  Over time instead of just walking with Him we begin to walk “IN” Him.  This is where we begin to see great changes happen, when we begin to feed the Holy Spirit inside of us with the Word of God.  When we feed on the Word of God daily we will grow stronger as Christians. The grass isn't always greener on the other side; it is greener where you water it.  I hope you all have a Simply Heavenly Tuesday!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.... June 9, 2013


But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.

– Psalms 13:5

I love this verse.  I am so grateful to the Lord Jesus Christ for rescuing me.  I no longer have to face anything alone.  He is with me through everything. I can’t begin to tell you how many times He has pulled me out of harms way, when I was too naive to believe I was even in trouble.

He has given us His Spirit to help us learn how to discern what is His voice and what is not.  Many times we run around in circles listening to all of the different things that the world pours out and those voices can ensnare us if we allow them to.  These are the times that we need to hold even tighter to His hand and listen for His voice to lead us back into His light.

He is such a loving Father and He loves to help us.  Sometimes I will find myself just calling out to Him.  “Jesus I love you.” Those four simple words fill me with so much love.  He loves each and every one of us for who we are and meets us right where we are. Remember nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord (Ephesians 8:38-38).

Whew!!!  What a mighty Lord we serve!  Don’t be afraid to ask Jesus to help you.  He will meet you and love you right where you are and if you allow Him to He will change your life forever!!!  Have a wonderful Sunday and let His light shine through you!!! God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... June 8, 2013


Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. Ephesians 5:1-2

God tells us that we are to be imitators of Him.  We are to be copycats of Jesus Christ.  That makes so much sense to me, since He is God in the flesh. Though He was fully God He was also fully man.  He felt every feeling and emotion that we have, yet He never sinned.  Everything He did while on earth was pleasing to the Father.  

So how do we become pleasing to the Lord?  Are we open to Him?  Do we have a teachable spirit? I think the very first step is to be in His Word.  When we visit Jesus He blesses us and leads us where He wants us to be.

When Jesus walked the earth we see that He spent a lot of time in prayer.  Many times I have read in the Bible that He would leave the crowd to go and pray.  That is what we should do as well.  Take some time out every day to spend in prayer.  Talk to the Lord.  Tell Him what is on your heart.  He will help you if you allow Him to.

Are you open to change in your life? Are you willing to risk? Are you flexible enough to innovate? Are you willing change the direction of your  life?


It may mean moving across the street. It may mean moving across the States. It may mean moving around the world. It may not include a move at all only a willingness to serve the Lord and be in His will and way for your life.  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.... June 7, 2013


“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.  For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”  Matthew 18:19-20

In Hawaii the ocean is an integral part of all of our lives.  I love this picture because it is of a group of surfers who are saying Aloha to a friend that has passed on from this life.

Have you ever noticed that when you go to a funeral everyone says ”He is in a better place.”  I kind of cringe when I hear that because as a Christian I know that if they haven’t been born again they are not in a “better place.”  They are in hell.

Then I hear “How can you love a God that sends people to hell?”  I have to be honest and tell them that my Lord and Savior does not send anyone to hell they make that choice themselves.  Jesus Christ will never force Himself on anyone.  He is too much of a gentle Lord to do that.  You must ask Him to come into your heart as your Lord and Savior.

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:3-6

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Thank you so much for loving me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again!

Don’t take you time on earth for granted.  You could be taken at any moment.  A car accident, cancer, a brain aneurysm or other accidents that could take your life before you are ready.  Make sure that your eternity is secure.  Ask Jesus into your heart today.  He will change your life if you will allow Him to.  God bless you!!!

Scriptures For Setting The Stage For The Rapture.....

As soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near.  So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.  Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.  Luke 21: 30- 33

When Jesus spoke of the signs of the times, He painted a picture of a world torn by strife and war, a world rocked by great earthquakes and ravaged by pestilences, and famine in the midst of plenty. Pretty much everything that is happening in the world today.

 Jesus said, "And there will be strange signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. People will be terrified at what they see coming upon the earth, for the powers in the heavens will be shaken" (Luke 21:25–26 NLT). Jesus also pointed to an increase in earthquakes as one of the signs of the last days (see Luke 21:11). We have always had earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis. But the Bible tells that in the end times, we will see more of them closer together. 

 According to the U. S. Geological Society, earthquakes are increasing. For the past five decades, the number of earthquakes has grown—not minor ones, but killer quakes. And they just keep coming.  Have you noticed that the earthquakes are getting stronger and more intense?  Not to mention the hurricanes and tornadoes. 

 Have you noticed how all of the things we were raised to believe were good are now considered bad? Being a Christian in today’s society has become a bad thing.  We are considered intolerant because we believe the Word of God and stand with the Lord Jesus Christ rather than on what people say is right.  I love a saying by William Penn “Right is right even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong even if everyone is for it.”  

I believe we are much closer to the Rapture of the church than people want to believe.  The Bible tells us that in the last days it will be as in the days of Noah.  When I look at the world we live in right now it is so much worse than even in Noah’s day.  Jesus said, "Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near" (Luke 21:28). They have more than just begun to happen.  They are in full swing with little to no chance of turning back.

So much of Prophecy has already been fulfilled.  People get ready Jesus is coming…  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.... June 6,2013

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.   Ephesians 6:12

Have any of you been experiencing spiritual warfare like I have lately?  Every Christian that I have been talking to has been telling me their stories on how difficult their walks with the Lord are right now.

I think that Satan knows that his time left is very limited so he is pouring it on trying to pull us all away from Jesus.  However we need to remember that Jesus didn’t leave us as orphans.  Oh no He left us His Holy Spirit and His Word.

The Bible tells us that when the Holy Spirit has come upon us we shall receive power and we shall be His witnesses (Acts 1:8). When we are totally submitted to Jesus Christ and His will, we will feel His power come through us.  That is how Peter the weak became Peter the Rock.

We can be as weak as little lambs, but when we put on the full armor of God we will be strong, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:13-17).

 When we put on that full Armor of God and follow the example that Jesus set for us when He was tempted by Satan, he must flee from us!  I taught my grandson how do literally put on his full armor almost like a game, so that when he walks out of this house and into the world he will have the most powerful protection with him.  The Holy Spirit and that gives me the blessed assurance that I need to have a Simply Heavenly day.  God bless you!!!
