Word of the Day... April 30, 2013

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.1 John 2:15
We are all told all the time “Do not love the things of this world.” But we are often caught in the traps that the world sets up for us.  Like Movies, TV, Video Games,  and music.  If we want to stay close to Jesus there are a few things we need to remember as believers:
Pay very close attention to what you are looking at…. Our eyes are the closest connection to our minds.

Give greater thought to what the consequences of your sin is instead of the pleasure that you will get from going through with them.  Nobody ever mentions the ugly downside of sin.

Begin each day in the Word and in prayer.  Take time out for Jesus every day.  When you do you will begin to see growth in your walk with Him.

During the day tell Jesus that you love Him, even if it is just a whisper.  He will hear it and you will feel Him with you.  It is simply precious!
When you make the choice to stand in faith with the Lord you will begin to see that you are in the world but you are not of it.  Can you imagine the impact we could have on the world if every Christian did something as simple as turning off the TV, Music player, going to movies, and playing video games that do not give glory to the Lord?  We could change the world.
Sadly, sometimes it is hard to tell a Christian from an unbeliever.  If we took baby steps every day to get closer to Jesus, What a Simply Heavenly world this would truly become.  I hope you have a beautiful Tuesday!!!  God bless you!!!

FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE
For You formed my inward parts;
You covered me in my mother’s womb.
 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
         Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
And in Your book they all were written,
         The days fashioned for me,
When as yet there were none of them.  Psalm 139:13-16

Word of the Day... April 28, 2013

“FOR THE EYES OF THE LORD ARE TOWARD THE RIGHTEOUS,
AND HIS EARS ATTEND TO THEIR PRAYER,
BUT THE FACE OF THE LORD IS AGAINST THOSE WHO DO EVIL.” 1 Peter 3:12

Many people want to work for the Lord, but sometimes they have a hard time to just spending time with Him.  It is easier to be content in busyness then to walk quietly in the Presence of the Lord.

God calls us to work for Him and there is enough work for every Christian.  But God also calls us to Himself.  He calls us to “Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place.”(Mark 6:31).

Many times we read in the Bible about Jesus rising early before daylight to go and find a place to pray. If the Son of God needed time alone with the Father, then how much more do we need?

It isn’t always easy to set aside time every day, shut out the world and spend time with the Lord in His Word and in prayer. But it is essential if we are to grow in our relationship with God and to get the strength that we need to face the battles that lie ahead of us.

The very best part of spending time alone with Jesus is how we are blessed by the Holy Spirit.  It is such a precious time and my day does not seem complete or in balance without it. I find that I treasure it and I look forward to what He has in store for me daily.  I hope that each one of you take the time today to open the Bible and spend a few minutes with Jesus.  I can promise you that He can change your life if you allow Him to.  Have a Simply Heavenly Sunday!!!

Word of the Day.... April 27,2013

You will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11

Have you ever watched a couple that is young and in love.  The way they can communicate their love for each other without even saying a word?  Maybe you have experienced this yourself with the person that you have been in love with all of your life.  It is just a look or a touch or even a twinkle ion your eye.  The pure bliss of just being in each others company.

In the same way, when we spend alone in the presence of God, there should be that same joy.  It happens when we listen to Him speak to us through His Word; it happens when we are just still in His Presence.  It happens when we communicate to Him through our prayers.  When we walk along the shore of a beautiful beach and marvel at His creation. It happens when we experience the miracle of a baby being coming into this world or when we tearfully say goodbye to someone we have loved all of our life.

Someday He will call us home and we will be in His Presence forever; The Bible tells us that "God Himself will be with them" (Rev. 21:3).  Oh what a joy that will be!!!  In the meantime, we need to take great delight in being in His Presence right now, for He is with us every hour of every day.  It is when we take time out to be with our Lord and listen to His voice that the blessings will be Simply Heavenly!  Have a wonderful Saturday!!!

Word of the Day... April 26, 2013

Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. 2 Corinthians 5:7

Wouldn't it be simply heavenly if we could find a medicine that would cure all of our short comings and failures in this life?  Everyone has walked through life thinking "If Only"...Conflict,unhappiness, envy and discontent plague people everywhere.  But just suppose a cure could be found for every one of these ills. It would cause a worldwide stampede!  people would be running not walking to get some of this.

The funny thing is there has always been a cure for all of these ills.  The cure has been provided to each and everyone of us through Jesus Christ!  For it is through Him that our sins can be forgiven and through the power of the Holy spirit our lives can be changed forever.  A renewed creature in Christ Jesus!!!

Sin, confusion and disillusionment can be replaced by righteousness, joy and hope for the future.  We can find true peace, and this is a peace that is not dependent on the world.  This peace comes from resting in Jesus and allowing Him to take charge of every area of your life.

Is He working in your daily life?  Are you full of the joy of the Lord?  If you aren't ask me how you can find it.  I hope that all of you have a Simply Heavenly Friday!!!  God bless you!!!:):)

For you are the fountain of life,
the light by which we see. Psalm 36:9

Many people in the world get their happiness from outward circumstances.  As long as their lives are without trouble they are fine and feel happy. But when a relationship breaks down, an illness strikes, or any unexpected trouble happens their happiness flees.

In Hawaii we have so many beautiful water falls that never stop flowing.  They are steady, reliable and unending. That is the kind of peace that we all long for and that is what Jesus offers to each one of us who put our trust in Him.

“The water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life…  My peace I give to you.” (John 4:14; 14:27)

Have you come to that unending spring – which is Christ?  Are you coming to Him each day? In my own life I have found that when I make a special time each day for Jesus, The blessings are Simply Heavenly!!!  God bless you!!!

Simply Heavenly Cinnamon Vanilla Butter Banana Pops....

Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter Banana Pops

 bananas
These Banana Pops are a fun treat to serve both kids and adults. The cinnamon vanilla almond butter is a treat in itself and then sandwich it in between two banana slices makes it even better. Adding antioxidant rich dark chocolate to the mix makes the whole thing out of this world resulting in a really yummy, healthy treat.
I love almonds and almond butter, but you’ve probably noticed that I don’t bake very much at all with almond flour. I prefer eating nuts raw and consuming nut butters occasionally for treats like this one.
Some of the main reasons I don’t usually bake with almond flour are:
Baking with almond flour causes oxidation to the high level of polyunsaturated fats in the almonds. That basically means that the fat in the nuts go rancid when we heat them, which is not so great for our health. Also, consuming 2-3 cups of almond flour in a baked goods recipe is pretty excessive (it takes A LOT of almonds to make 2 to 3 cups of flour!) and this also isn’t the best for our health or our waistlines. Of course, everything in moderation so I do use almond flour on occasion, but the majority of the time, I stick with coconut flour in my baking recipes. As far as baking goes, coconut flour produces a very moist, fluffy baked good and is by far my flour of choice for baking. Coconut flour can be difficult to find, so here is a good place to get it:  Organic Coconut Flour 3 Lbs by Nutiva
Even though it may seem a little expensive, you never need very much coconut flour at all in baked goods – usually just a half cup or less so a large bag like the link above will last you a very long time.
Enough about the almond versus coconut flour – just make these yummy pops! You won’t regret it!
*If you are allergic to almonds, you can use sunbutter.
Cinnamon Vanilla Almond Butter Banana Pops
Makes 4 Banana Pops
 Ingredients:
 2 bananas
1/3 cup almond butter
½ tsp vanilla
¼ tsp cinnamon
1/3 cup all natural dark chocolate pieces or chips (at least 60% cacao)
1 T coconut oil
popsicle sticks or bamboo skewers
 DIRECTIONS:
Mix almond butter, vanilla, and cinnamon together until well mixed.
Peel and cut bananas in half. Slice the halves vertically in half.
Divide your almond butter mixture into 4 equal portions. Use 1 portion of almond butter per 2 banana slices. Spread the almond butter mixture over half of the banana slices.
Press your popsicle stick or skewer on top of the almond butter and top with the remaining banana slices.
Place the banana pops in the freezer and freeze until firm.
When your banana pops are all the way frozen, melt your dark chocolate and coconut oil in a double boiler over low heat. (If you don’t have a double boiler, use a large skillet filled with some water and place a smaller pot inside the skillet on top of the water. Put your chocolate and oil in the smaller pot.) Stir until melted and smooth.
Dip each banana pop in the dark chocolate and place on parchment paper. Place back in the freezer for a few minutes until chocolate is hardened and cold. Enjoy!
My Grandchildren really enjoyed these healthier banana treats!!!  They are Simply Heavenly!!!

The light of the righteous rejoices,

But the lamp of the wicked goes out. Proverbs 13:9

We are holding the light. We are to let that light shine! Though it may seem but a twinkling candle in a world of darkness, it is our business to let this light shine. The light dispels darkness, and it attracts people in the darkness to it.

We are kindling a fire. In this cold world full of hatred and selfishness our little blaze may seem to be unavailing, but we must keep our fire burning.

A light and a fire…. They seem so little amidst the darkness and the violence of the world. But “with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26) and He will bless us as we bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to a weary strife torn world.

I couldn’t help but think of the songs that they teach the children in Sunday School.  “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine, let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!!

Word of the Day... April 23, 2013

My Peace is like a shaft of golden Light shining on you continuously. During the days of bright sunshine, it may blend in with your surroundings. On darker days, My Peace stands out in sharp contrast your circumstances. See times of darkness as opportunities for My Light to shine in transcendent splendor. I am training you to practice Peace that overpowers darkness. Collaborate with Me in this training. Do not grow weary and lose heart.~Jesus calling~

Nine Simply Heavenly Food Cures You Can Grow at Home...

I found this on Facebook and wanted to share this with all of you.  It is jammed packed with great information that we can all use to live healthier, happier, Simply Heavenly lives!!!

Organic Gardening Magazine

Aloe Vera
Grow it: Plant in pots placed in full sunshine. Water well.

Use it: Break open the thick leaves and apply the gel that seeps out to your skin to soothe sunburn. “It’s 96 percent water and 4 percent active ingredients, including amino acids and enzymes that nourish damaged skin,” says pharmacist Margo Marrone, founder of The Organic Pharmacy in the United Kingdom.

Basil
Grow it: This sweet, fragrant annual is ideal for growing in pots. Pull off the white flowers as soon as they appear to keep it from going to seed and your herbs from tasting bitter.

Use it: Rub crushed leaves on your temples to relieve headaches. Pour boiling water over basil leaves for a pain-relieving footbath.

Lavender
Grow it: This sun-loving plant needs good drainage. Use a small pot filled with gravel and a light soil.

Use it: It has antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Crush a handful of the heads and add to a bowl of boiling water to use as a steam bath for your face. You can also dab the oil from the flowers on blemishes, says Marrone.

Lemon Balm
Grow it: Pot it, or it will colonize your garden.

Use it: Use for healing and preventing cold sores. Also, rub leaves directly onto skin as a natural insect repellent or to soothe bites.

Mint
Grow it: Use a sunken pot, because it grows vigorously.

Use it: Ideal for treating the collywobbles, which you might know as butterflies in the stomach. Sip tea made with fresh peppermint leaves to soothe stomach cramps, nausea, and flatulence. For a natural decongestant, place a fistful of mint leaves in a shallow bowl and cover with boiling water. Lean over it, drape a towel over your head, and breathe the steam.

Parsely
Grow it: Thrives in a pot in the sun as long as the soil is kept moist. Feed with organic fertilizer.

Use it: Immune-system booster. Eat one tablespoon of chopped flatleaf or curly parsley daily. Chewing parsley neutralizes mouth odors.

Rosemary
Grow it: This hardy perennial loves basking in sunshine.

Use it: Tea made from a thumb-sized piece has been known to lift spirits in people suffering from seasonal affective disorder (SAD) and hangovers. Infuse warm red wine with rosemary, cinnamon, and cloves to soothe winter colds.

Sage
Grow it: Needs full sun and a dry sandy soil. Sage means “to be in good health.”

Use it: Gargle with a broth made from a quarter-cup of leaves (and cooled) to relieve sore throat.

Thyme
Grow it: Plant in dry, light soil. Needs sun.

Use it: A powerful antioxidant as well as an antiseptic. Drink a tea made from lemon thyme to treat colds before bed. Warning: don’t use thyme when pregnant.

I hope all of you get the chance to try all of these Simply Heavenly herbal cures...

Word of the Day... April 22, 2013

Shout joyfully to the LORD, all the earth.
Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
 Know that the LORD Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
 For the LORD is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100

I believe that the Lord wants us to serve him with a glad heart.  If you cannot serve the Lord with gladness you really shouldn’t try to serve him at all.

God does not like complaining servants.  He also does not like a complaining giver.  If you can’t give to the Lord with a cheerful heart, you shouldn’t give at all.  He loves a cheerful giver (1 Cor. 9:7)

Can you imagine how wonderful our days would be if everyone started their day off with this Psalm?  The world would be a much nicer place to live.  I hope that you keep this in mind as you go out into the world today.  Have a Simply Heavenly Monday!!!

Word of the Day.... April 21, 2013

9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not tremble or be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  Joshua 1:9

Yesterday, my Grand Niece Roscha was rushed to the hospital by ambulance after having a seizure at home. She passed out and in the ambulance she experienced six more seizures. She has never ever been sick a day in her life and she is only nine months old. Needless to say we were all beside ourselves with worry.  My son called me and asked to have prayers said for her and we immediately lifted this precious baby up to the Lord Jesus Christ. We asked the Lord to touch her with His healing hand and to allow her come through this healthy, strong and happy.

She was at the hospital for about three hours where they ran every test under the sun and finally opened her eyes at around 11:00 p.m. last evening, happy and healthy. Prayer does work and I want to thank all of you who prayed along with me yesterday for a full recovery for this precious little angel.  When someone tells you “all I could do was pray, “let them know they are asking the Creator of the universe for help and when He steps in things really do begin to happen. Prayer is a very powerful tool!

He sent me this scripture last night through a woman from India who wanted to join a group I was hosting online.  It was the first thing that she posted and had no idea what was going on in my life. When I saw that Scripture I knew Roscha would be fine!!  Getting this scripture made  my whole evening a Simply Heavenly one!!!

As you go out in this world today, take a little time out to say a little thank you to the Lord for something good He has done in your life this week.  If you do He will bless you richly!!!

FALLEN WORLD
REMEMBER THAT YOU LIVE IN a fallen world:  an abnormal world tainted by sin.  Much frustration and failure result from your seeking perfection in this life.  There is nothing perfect in this world but Me.  That is why closeness to Me satisfies deep yearnings and fills you with joy.

I have planted longing for perfection in every human heart.  This is a good desire, which I alone can fulfill.  But most people seek this fulfillment in other people and earthly pleasures or achievements.  Thus they create idols, before which they bow down.  I will have no other gods before Me!  Make Me the deepest desire of your heart.  Let Me fill your yearning for perfection.

Exodus 20:3 Psalm 37:4

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

I hear people all the time tell me that they would like to become missionaries and travel all over the world.  That is a great ambition but I believe that every single one of us are missionaries.  The Lord can use us right where we are if we allow the Holy Spirit to move through us.

If you want to reach the world, start with your world.  Talk to your neighbors and friends. Help to teach Sunday school at church. Be a leader in your youth group, go out and help feed the homeless or start a group that goes out to witness and share the good news of Jesus Christ.  It starts right where you are.  You only need to take the first step and allow the Holy Spirit to move.

I hope that you all stay safe and close to Jesus during these very scary times.  God bless you all!

Tonight I Pray That You Rest In Jesus....

TONIGHT I PRAY that you know that you are HIS for all time; nothing can separate you from HIS love since HE invested his very life in you. You can be assured that He will take care of you. I pray that you get a real hunger for His word so that as your thoughts flow freely you won't feel anxious or alone. Keep bringing yourself back into His Presence through His Word and through prayer.

Many of your problems will vanish in the light of His love, because it is then you will realize you are never alone. I pray that as you come into His Presence and rest in the Lord your other problems will be secondary to the relationship that He so readily offers you. I pray that you savor each moment that you can practice to be in His presence and rest in the Lord Jesus. I pray that you talk to Him about every aspect of your day, including your feelings remembering that your ultimate goal is not to control or fix everything around you is to rest in the Lord. I pray that you allow the Holy Spirit to guide you moment by moment. So that you may stay close to the Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen.… I love you all!! God bless you!! :):)

Have You Denied Yourself? Enter The Contest To Receive Her Video...

I was asked to review the second film in the True Beauty series by Lisa Chan.  I feel so blessed to be able to participate in this and I must say that the last film “Be Still” was life changing for my walk with Jesus Christ. It helped me to slow down and really spend quality time with Jesus and listen for His voice. To Be Still and know that He is God and give Him my best and not my leftovers.

In Deny Yourself It gives us tools for how to stop living for our “self” in a world  where everything is about self and self has become the new idol. To pick up our cross and follow Jesus Christ.  We are told that if we do not “Deny our self” We cannot be His disciple.  It made me ask myself, is Jesus truly my Lord and Savior?  Have I denied myself?  Am I following Jesus?  Have I truly come under His authority? I have to say honestly that I am a work in progress.

It took me back to when I had lung cancer when in my life “self” took a back seat to am I ready to meet my Lord and Savior?  When I was diagnosed and had to face the fact that I had a killer growing in my lung and either the Lord was going to bring me through it or He would take me home.  I think it was the first time I really had to take a hard look at my life as a Christian and my walk with Jesus Christ.  Was I living for Him or me?

As I went through the consultation with my doctors about the surgery for my cancer I almost felt at peace. To make a very long and complicated story short, the Lord answered every single one of my prayers for my surgery. I still have all of my muscles intact, the surgeon told me that my ribs opened right up for him and my tumor didn't move or spread.  When I opened my eyes after the eight hour surgery he was so excited telling me that someone up there loved me.  I just smiled and told him it was Jesus.  He told me you don’t understand you have small cell lung cancer.  It should have spread.  He told me that he pulled out the lymph nodes in my chest no cancer.  They had me go through an MRI to check and see if the cancer had spread to my brain, no cancer.  They gave me a bone scan and no cancer.

Alone in my room after everyone had gone I thanked the Lord for the miracle He had given to me and offered my life to Him.  Whatever He asked of me I would do.  As I began the rigors of chemo therapy the Lord had so much more to teach me and get me ready for what He had in store for me.  I found that cancer is such a great tool for sharing Jesus Christ.  People who are facing death are very open to hearing the good news of Jesus Christ.
Going through Chemo therapy was sheer hell.  I had rigorous chemo because the type of cancer I had was very aggressive and known to come back. I spent the whole summer in chemo and as I could feel the poison burning in my veins, the Holy Spirit was right there with me filling me with so much joy that I wept.  He was letting me know that He was right there with me in the midst of hell and I was filled with His joy!!!  It was one of the most incredible things that I have ever experienced in my life!  I believe that the Lord was teaching me that as I let go of “self” I would get more of Him.

As the next few weeks went by, I noticed that when I showered huge clumps of my hair were coming out.  I had these big bald spots all over my head.  I looked like a monster!  I can remember sitting in the tub and crying.  This was the last vestige of self that the Lord was going to help me to be rid of.  My son heard my cries and got his buzzer and helped me to dry my hair and then he buzzed my head.  I had a bald head now and I didn't know what to think.  My husband had bought me wigs, but I live in Hawaii where it is very warm and it just didn't work for me.  So when I went out I wore little scarfs on my head.  One night I had to run to the grocery store and I forgot my scarf because I didn't wear it at home and I will never forget the look of horror that I got from the people shopping that evening.

The strangest thing happened when I saw their looks.  I felt free!!!  I just smiled and said: “It’s just a little bit of lung cancer, but nothing my Lord can’t handle!”   Then I went about shopping for what I needed and went home.  The Holy Spirit was blessing me and I wanted to share that love with everyone!!!  He was teaching me that no matter what happens, He meets us right there in the midst of our suffering and turns it to joy if we allow Him to.

I started a blog about Simply Heavenly Food so that I could share good food for the body and the soul and my walk with Jesus and how He had changed my life forever.  My daughter showed me a page she had on a website called Tumblr and she shared that there were so many young people there who needed someone to talk to.  I had a really good response to my blog so I prayed and asked the Lord what He would have me do.

He wanted me to be a Grandma to those young people who needed to talk and share their feelings in a safe environment.  I started by putting up pictures with scriptures and the questions came.  The Lord spoke to my heart and told me that these were His children and He wanted me to love on them.  To share His love and grace and the free gift of salvation.  What started out as a few hours a day has become a full time labor of love for me.  I believe that I have found my identity in Christ Jesus!  I have to tell you that I have never been so blessed!  I truly believe that as we let go of self and be still and listen to what the Lord is saying and then are obedient to His wishes we are blessed beyond belief.

I actually look at lung cancer as one of the greatest blessings of my life.  I don’t think that the Lord would have ever moved so mightily in my life if I wasn’t put in the position to really deny myself and depend fully on Him for my very life.  I believe that every Christian has a mission should they decide to accept it.  When they do make the decision to deny themselves and pick up their cross and follow Jesus they are blessed beyond belief. Remember the Lord never sends us out to do something for Him without equipping us with everything we need to complete His mission.  When we realize that He is large and in charge we find our true beauty through Jesus Christ.

Word of the Day... April 18, 2013

“O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation,
You have covered my head in the day of battle. Psalm 140:7

When you are living your life for Jesus Christ, you can be sure that the devil is seeking to devour you.  Many Christians see it in their daily lives.  People make fun of them or treat badly for no other reason than the fact that they are Christians.  It is still being masked pretty well in our country even though they have taken God out of everything public.  It seems like the world is tolerant and "PC" (Politically Correct) about every group, every religion, every doctrine EXCEPT Christianity.

But those who choose to serve the Lord Jesus Christ should not lose heart.  Yes, the tests may come- but we have great assurance that the Holy Spirit inside of us is greater than anyone in the world!

We do not face such a formidable enemy that we cannot fight him or stand firm in our decision to stand on our faith in the Lord.  We serve a God of hope, He is right there with all of the reinforcements we need.  Our Lord will never send us out without supplying us with everything we need to do the job.

As we head out for battle today, remember that our Lord will provide everything we need.  He always has our back.

Word of the Day... April 17, 2013

Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, Ephesians 3:2

In Jesus you have everything. It is through Him that we are made complete. When we remove the clutter from our heart, our capacity to experience Jesus and His love will increase.  As our yearning for Him increases, the desires of the world will grow less important to us.  The Lord Jesus is infinite and abundantly accessible to each one of us, when we desire Him above all else it is the best way to live our lives.

There is not a need that we have that Jesus cannot meet.  He is after all the Creator of all that is.  Even though you don’t see Him physically in the world, He is still very much in control.  Don’t ever be fooled by appearances.  The things that you see in this world are brief and fleeting, but His Spirit though invisible, is everlasting!!!

I hope that as you all go out into the world today, that you treat each other with kindness and have a Simply Heavenly Wednesday!!!

Oprah and Her Sheeple Need to Turn To The Lamb...

This was what a pastor friend of mine wrote today:
"At a party yesterday someone was singing Oprah's praises, how she is a model of success and attitude. how she teaches you to reach out to the "universe" to get what you want. I saw this article in the doctors office. It's been on my heart to help other Christians to discern the new age movement which includes what I'd call the church of Oprah. In her article here she is pushing TM. Her first words are "seeking the fullest expression of self. That's my story in six words -my personal definition of what I'm all about."
Jesus said the opposite; the way to God was dying to self. Oprah talks all about the wonders of mediation and ends with a quote from "Glinda the good witch." I ponder that she is the avatar for our age. Millions of viewers watch, follow and quote her. Her message sounds so good and promises self esteem and success, but it is new age mysticism. My father was saved out of transcendental meditation and yoga and what is basically 'selfism.' Why would my generation want to go back to it? What are you thoughts on Oprah and her influence?"
People are hurting in the world today and they are desperately searching for something that will give them lasting peace that truly satisfies.  Oprah I believe is either terribly deceived and lost or she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing leading millions of people astray with her “New Age” religion where she believes and has stated that there are many ways, millions even, for a person to "get to what some call God."

I would label Oprah as a cult leader—and with good reason. She is a figurehead for the promotion and propagation of anti-Biblical beliefs which deny every foundational truth of historical Christianity. Her webcasts have attracted hundreds of thousands of participants with the promise of gaining new perspectives on how to live a life of enrichment, peace, new found self-worth, and spiritual freedom.

Why do so many women flock to Oprah?  I believe it is because as women and Americans we love an underdog.  Someone who came from absolutely nothing and made not only a name for herself but is now one of the most wealthy and influential people in the world. As a woman of God, I am so saddened by her turning to anything and everything except for the “real thing.” to find peace and contentment.  By the real thing I mean Jesus Christ.  Substitutes may sound alluring just like that fake sugar does, but nothing can replace the real thing

I don’t see her getting any true happiness other than what money can buy.  Yeah she has the homes, the cars, and she can throw money and gifts at people on her show that she hand picks (Which I might add are all tax deductible). But these things are temporal and do not last. Money and “things” cannot give us peace in our soul, only Jesus can.

We as can see the prophecy that is being fulfilled before our very eyes in what is happening in her life.  The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:1-2:
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,  by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
In Oprah’s “religion” there is no room for Jesus Christ or His teachings.  In fact in one of her seminars with Echart Tolle she told the audience to free their minds from a belief in Christ.  Truly the only thing that Oprah and her mentor offer is deception.  It reminded me of Satan in the Garden of Eden with Eve, when she was gullible enough to believe his lie that “You will be like God” (Gen. 3:5).

Apostasy is all around us in varying degrees.  As Christians, we need to be very sure that we are clinging to the truth of God's word and resisting the inclusion of liberalism, moral relativism, and the oncoming secularism that is all around us.  We need to stand firm on the word of God and never be ashamed of the truth of the Gospel:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek," (Rom. 1:16).
People need to stop acting likes sheeple and start following the LAMB.  I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly day!!! God bless you!

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?  Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?  Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one for God himself has given us right standing with himself.  Who then will condemn us? No one for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”)  No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.  No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 31-39

After the senseless violence in Boston,The myth of safety lies shattered at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. No amount of security, police presence or preparation can keep us safe from a terrorist who has the desire to wreak havoc on our society. All of these things have a place. But they cannot overcome the evil within the human heart.
" ..as it is written, There is none righteous, not even one"
Romans 3:10
While we understand that God has sovereign control over all things, it is important to remember that God is not the source of tragedy. The vast majority of human suffering is caused by sin, all too often the sin of other peopleFor instance, what happened in Boston is the fault of the murderer disobeying the moral law of God. While God is perfectly capable of stopping violence like that which happened yesterday, I believe He chooses not to. He gives us the free will to choose to do what is right in His sight or not to.

We cannot control the choices that other people make and many times we have to live with the consequences of their sin. While God is perfectly capable of stopping tragedies before they begin, sometimes He doesn’t. I believe that when we face tragedy in this world, it leads us to three things:  To seek out God, it develops our spiritual strength, faith and increases our desire for heaven. I know that Jesus  was there yesterday in the midst of the suffering offering His love to any who asked.
