Word of the Day.. July 4, 2013...

I am so blessed and happy that I was born in the United States of America.  I may not always agree with what my President is doing, but I still pray for him and his family. For me the Fourth of July is about being thankful that I live in a country where freedom still rings and to never forget the high price that our valiant serviceman paid so that I still have that privilege.

In Hawaii where I live, Independence day is a picnic at the beach with our church.  The food is wonderful.  We don’t limit it to hamburgers and hot dogs   There is bar-b-qued  meat, chicken, manapua, sushi, raw fish, 7 layer dip, noodles, cakes, cupcakes, and pies.  All kinds of fruits and vegetables and of course water melon.

It is a wonderful day of fun and fellowship at the beach. In Honolulu we are so blessed to have the most beautiful beaches in the world! The sun is out and our keiki are out there having fun swimming and surfing in the ocean.

When the sun sets we all enjoy a beautiful sunset and then the fireworks begin!!! It is a day of being thankful to God for living in the best country in the world…

America the Beautiful!!! I hope that all of you have a Simply Heavenly and safe Independence Day!!!  God bless you all!!!

O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!

O beautiful for patriot dream
That sees beyond the years
Thine alabaster cities gleam
Undimmed by human tears!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From Maine to Waikiki!
