Word of the Day.... July 3, 2013

And the child grew and became strong;
He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him. Luke  2:40

What I love about Jesus Christ is that when He came to earth, He was fully man yet fully God.  He had the limitations that we do as humans and was able to feel everything that we do.

The Bible tells us that He felt every emotion that we do. As a Christian it gives me comfort knowing that when I take my prayers to Jesus, He truly understands what I am going through.  He knows just how I feel.  There are instances in the Bible when Jesus was tired, thirsty and felt pain, instances where He was tempted in every way that we get tempted but He never gave in to that temptation and never sinned.  What better example could there ever be to us as sinners to know that we are not controlled or owned by the sins of this world?

When He talked to the woman at the well in (John 4) The Bible says that Jesus was tired and sat down at Jacob’s well. It was about noon.  When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, “Will you give me a drink?” (His disciples had gone into the town to buy food.) I love that the Bible shows us the human side of Jesus. He must of been hot and tired and very thirsty after walking in that hot sun.  It just made me love Him all the more.

I have never been to Israel- though I would dearly love to go someday. I can imagine how hot it gets there.  Jesus walked around many days in that hot sun as a man. Being God almighty Jesus could of just sent the Apostles and then just appeared where ever they were without tiring Himself out.  But our Jesus, He never took the easy way out, never used His mighty power for his own gain or comfort.  He truly loves us so very much that He became us.  Jesus voluntarily went through the process of feeling what it was like not only to be tired and exhausted, but to experience pain, agonizing pain.  Jesus got hungry, thirsty and tired.  How humbling is it to know that the very God that created the heavens and the earth, that created us, purposely became one of us and exposed Himself to all of the feelings and pains in this world?  He loves us that much that he exposed Himself to great pain so that we could be saved!

Not only that, can you imagine being God and knowing exactly what was going to happen to you but the people you were closest to couldn't seem to understand and fell asleep when He needed them the most that night in the garden?

Did Jesus have complete omniscience and omnipotence as a baby in the manger? Luke's Gospel tells us, "And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him" (Luke 2:40). So it appears that Jesus went through a learning process like anyone else.

Jesus grew as a human, but there was never a moment when He suddenly became God or when deity was transferred to Him. That was always a part of His life. He was fully God and fully man.  He is there right now for anyone who wants to experience the love of the Creator of the universe.  Jesus loves each one of us so very much that He allowed Himself to be beaten beyond recognition and then to die on the cross like a common criminal when He never ever sinned.
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:3-6
If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that You took the pain and the sins of world on the cross to give me new life. I ask You to come into my heart and to give me Your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow You and to serve You all the days of my life. Thank you so much for loving me, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again!  I hope that all of you have a Simply Heavenly day!!!  God bless you!!!
