4 For whatever was written in earlier times was written for our instruction, so that through perseverance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4
I am
so glad that when I read scriptures like this one I know that the promises are
true and my hope is secure. These
promises are the quiet confidence. It is a supernatural certainty. When the
Bible speaks of hope, it is not the hope of this world. Rather, it is something
altogether different. In fact, the Greek and Hebrew words that translate to
"hope" speak of certainty. In the Bible, the word "hope"
means a strong and confident expectation.
We get
that faith and hope from the Lord Himself and the Word of God. This is a lasting hope that gives me
assurance each day!
How
does our faith and hope get stronger?
They get stronger when we are tested. It is during those times that no
matter how hard life gets we can stand on these scriptures and the Lord will
carry us through the trial. When He does
we grow stronger in Him and His Word. He is our refuge and our strength in
every storm.
Of
course, you don't have to build your faith on what I tell you. Try it yourself. Trust in the Lord and stand on His Word and
then wait upon the Lord. He will keep
His promise and lead you into His joy, love and light. I hope you have a
wonderful Friday. God bless you!!!
