Word of the Day... June 3, 2013

Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, “Do not imagine that you in the king’s palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?” Esther 4:13-14

I love reading the Book of Esther.  What a mighty woman of God she was. She won a beauty contest and became the wife of the king of Persia.  He had no idea that she was a Jew and she kept this information quiet.  There was a man in the kings guard called Haman who wanted all of the Jews killed and he devised a plot to do just that.

Esther’s uncle Mordecai told her that she was in a place of influence and that she should use her influence to talk to the king on behalf of the Jewish people.  He told her not to keep silent because if she did the Jews would find relief from somewhere else her Father’s house would perish. He felt that there must be a reason that she came to this kingdom at such a time. Mordecai told her that God had put her here for a reason.  That she had influence over the king. She did go to the king and she shared what God had laid upon her heart.  In the end everything worked out for the Jews living in that kingdom.

Just like us here on earth today.  God put us all here for a reason and what are we going to do with this?  Will we go to them and share the saving grace of Jesus Christ ?  Or will we remain silent?

If we don’t share Jesus will the job get done?  Yes I believe that it will.  The reality is that God does not need us to share His saving grace and love.  He is just giving us the opportunity to share it as His children.  He wants us to participate in the process.

The question remains….  When God says go out into the world and share My Gospel, what will you say?
