Word of the Day... June 25, 2013....

Keeping In God’s Love
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,  keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. Jude 1:20-21

The book of Jude was written by Jude, the half- brother of Jesus Christ. They had the same mother (Mary) but Jude’s and James father was Joseph.  It is interesting that  Jude and James did not use their relationship with Jesus Christ to attain special status. They both described themselves as being a bondservant to Jesus Christ.

Both Jude and James had difficulty accepting who Jesus really was until after the Resurrection.  Seeing their brother rise from the dead changed everything for them and they both served as leaders in the early church as humble servants of Jesus Christ.

I love this verse.  It is so important that we all keep in God’s love.  God loves us so very much.  He proved this when He sent His only Son to earth to die a brutal terrible death in our place. I believe that He went to this extreme because He wants to have fellowship with us.

Because the Lord loves us so very much, He has many blessings that He wants to bestow upon us.  But we need to be walking in His Spirit, obeying Him, trusting in Him in order for Him to bless us.

So keep yourself in the love of God.  Keep yourself in the place where God can do the things for you that He wants to. Keep your lamps filled with oil, for our Lord is coming soon.
I hope that all of you have a Simply Heavenly Day…  God bless you!!!♥♥♥
