Word of the Day... May 8, 2013

Oh Lord lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes;
Make Your way straight before me.  Psalm 5:8
The world that we live in today is so full of distractions with family, work, television, movies, music and everything seems to be moving at such a fast pace that many of us seem to lose our way.  Sometimes it is hard to hear God’s voice in the midst of all of the noise in our lives.  He is there though speaking to us.  Sometimes we have to turn off the noise and distractions of the world to hear Him.
He can speak to us in many ways.  Through our pain, sometimes it is a slight whisper in our ear when we are relaxing outside looking at His beautiful creation. Sometimes He will speak to us through a song or through one of the sixty six books of the Bible.  It is right there in black and white speaking out to us.
We can count on the fact that the Bible will never lead us astray.  Sometimes it shouts out warnings to us, it will tell us that our disease has been healed and will never return and it is so He can be glorified through it.
Sometimes the Lord will speak to us through family members, very good friends, parents, teachers and mentors.  People who have been in the trenches with us and have earned our respect and love over the years.
Listen to their advice and then screen what you think the will of God is through their thoughts and perspectives and then just sit with Jesus and see where He would have you go.  There is no confusion in Christ Jesus.  If we have put Him in the driver’s seat, we can be assured that where ever He takes us we will be blessed and in His will for our life!!!
I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly Wednesday!!!  God bless you!!!

Sometimes I have trouble discerning what it God's will and what is my own- what are my thoughts and intentions and what is truly of God.

That's when I pray for God to make it clear to me and dive into the scriptures.

I'm hard headed so sometimes God has to repeat Himself many times for me to get it. He is so patient with me.

I know exactly what you mean Vanessa! There are two keys to knowing God's will for a given situation:
1) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing is not something the Bible forbids.

2) Make sure what you are asking for or considering doing will glorify God and help you grow spiritually. If these two things are true and God still is not giving you what you are asking, then it is likely not God’s will for you to have what you are asking for. Or, perhaps you just need to wait a while longer for it. Knowing God’s will is sometimes difficult. People want God to tell them right now what to do—where to work, where to live, whom to marry, etc. Like He is an order taker. God rarely gives people information that direct and specific. God allows us to make choices regarding those things.

Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.” The only decision God does not want us to make is the decision to sin or resist His will.Oh by the way did you get my message that you won my contest? I only need you to email me an address where I can send the tape Deny Yourself. I look forward to hearing from you. God bless you sister!!! :):)
