Word of the Day... April 9, 2013

Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14

I was reading this in my devotional today and I was so touched by it that I had to share it with you.  Greg Laurie was asking the question do we have guardian angels?  I have wondered about this my whole life and though I don’t know if we each have one special angel just for us, the Bible tells us that there are angels involved in our lives.  In Psalm 37:4 it tells us that:  "The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them" We also read that angels are "ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation" (Hebrews 1:14). So the Bible teaches that we have angels around us as Christians.

When I read that I thought about the morning I went into the operating room for my lung cancer surgery.  I heard a voice as plain as day tell me: ”The Breath of Heaven is holding you in His arms”  As soon as I heard that voice I was no longer afraid and I knew that everything was going to be fine.  When I awoke nine hours later, the surgery was over and my surgeon was standing over me telling me that someone up there really liked me.  He said that the cancer never spread.  That is very rare for lung cancer.  I am alive today because I serve a healing Jesus.

Knowing the great love that Jesus has for children, I believe that they have angels watching over them.  In Matthew 18:10 it says: "Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven"  That is such a powerful word from the Lord.  When I look back at all that has happened to me in my life I truly believe that the Lord has been watching over me my whole life.

If you have ever watched a baby being born or watched a person go into eternity, they are both equally miraculous. I witnessed it at the birth of of my grandchildren and the death of my father and mother.  When life begins, or when life ends suddenly, it doesn't seem logical to us. But God is still in control. And the angels did their job, guiding us, protecting us, and finally, taking us home to glory.

If you don’t know Jesus as your Savior and want to have the Simply Heavenly assurance that you are going to heaven, pray with me right now:

Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you took the pain of the cross to give me new life. I ask you to come into my heart and to give me your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive you now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow you and to serve you all my life. Thank you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again!
If you ever want to talk feel free to message me.  Have a Simply Heavenly day!!!
