Oprah and Her Sheeple Need to Turn To The Lamb...

This was what a pastor friend of mine wrote today:
"At a party yesterday someone was singing Oprah's praises, how she is a model of success and attitude. how she teaches you to reach out to the "universe" to get what you want. I saw this article in the doctors office. It's been on my heart to help other Christians to discern the new age movement which includes what I'd call the church of Oprah. In her article here she is pushing TM. Her first words are "seeking the fullest expression of self. That's my story in six words -my personal definition of what I'm all about."
Jesus said the opposite; the way to God was dying to self. Oprah talks all about the wonders of mediation and ends with a quote from "Glinda the good witch." I ponder that she is the avatar for our age. Millions of viewers watch, follow and quote her. Her message sounds so good and promises self esteem and success, but it is new age mysticism. My father was saved out of transcendental meditation and yoga and what is basically 'selfism.' Why would my generation want to go back to it? What are you thoughts on Oprah and her influence?"
People are hurting in the world today and they are desperately searching for something that will give them lasting peace that truly satisfies.  Oprah I believe is either terribly deceived and lost or she is a wolf in sheep’s clothing leading millions of people astray with her “New Age” religion where she believes and has stated that there are many ways, millions even, for a person to "get to what some call God."

I would label Oprah as a cult leader—and with good reason. She is a figurehead for the promotion and propagation of anti-Biblical beliefs which deny every foundational truth of historical Christianity. Her webcasts have attracted hundreds of thousands of participants with the promise of gaining new perspectives on how to live a life of enrichment, peace, new found self-worth, and spiritual freedom.

Why do so many women flock to Oprah?  I believe it is because as women and Americans we love an underdog.  Someone who came from absolutely nothing and made not only a name for herself but is now one of the most wealthy and influential people in the world. As a woman of God, I am so saddened by her turning to anything and everything except for the “real thing.” to find peace and contentment.  By the real thing I mean Jesus Christ.  Substitutes may sound alluring just like that fake sugar does, but nothing can replace the real thing

I don’t see her getting any true happiness other than what money can buy.  Yeah she has the homes, the cars, and she can throw money and gifts at people on her show that she hand picks (Which I might add are all tax deductible). But these things are temporal and do not last. Money and “things” cannot give us peace in our soul, only Jesus can.

We as can see the prophecy that is being fulfilled before our very eyes in what is happening in her life.  The Bible tells us in 1 Timothy 4:1-2:
But the Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and doctrines of demons,  by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron,
In Oprah’s “religion” there is no room for Jesus Christ or His teachings.  In fact in one of her seminars with Echart Tolle she told the audience to free their minds from a belief in Christ.  Truly the only thing that Oprah and her mentor offer is deception.  It reminded me of Satan in the Garden of Eden with Eve, when she was gullible enough to believe his lie that “You will be like God” (Gen. 3:5).

Apostasy is all around us in varying degrees.  As Christians, we need to be very sure that we are clinging to the truth of God's word and resisting the inclusion of liberalism, moral relativism, and the oncoming secularism that is all around us.  We need to stand firm on the word of God and never be ashamed of the truth of the Gospel:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek," (Rom. 1:16).
People need to stop acting likes sheeple and start following the LAMB.  I hope that you all have a Simply Heavenly day!!! God bless you!

I have nothing better to say, but am glad you posted this. I read news about Oprah circulated on facebook of how she leading millions of people (especially women) into the New Age movement and away from Jesus Christ. Some even called her antichrist. I'm not sure about the article I read until I read yours. I'm inspired by Oprah's success but it's so sad to see that power and wealth finally makes her denied Jesus as the only way to heaven.

I agree that we should follow the one and only God, rather than people who "empower" us and make us feel warm and fuzzy.

Thanks for sharing this,

XOXO,
Meredith

You are welcome Meredith! I used to be one of Oprah's biggest fans until she started talking about many ways to heaven. That is when I changed the channel and really decided to take a hard look at her. I was so disappointed that the woman I had admired for so long had turned her back on Jesus. I am praying for her though. God bless you!!! :):)

I agree with you HoneyBee! I am sad for her and am keeping her in my prayers. They say that power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I am just going to keep trusting in Jesus for her. God bless and have a Simply Heavenly day!!! :):)

I would watch Oprah everyday as a teen and young adult. For yrs i admired her and i still do. But i cannot deny Jesus and when i heard what she stated on her show and certain people she had on her show my heart sank and Im real sad for her.i think not her too! God i pray you will save her cause she is too special to let go. My heart aches for her and many others.God save them and may God help us all!

I follow the way which is shown to us by God. That is the one and only way we have to follow.
