Word of the Day... March 26, 2013

The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want.
 He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.
 He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil, for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You have anointed my head with oil;
My cup overflows.
 Surely goodness and loving kindness will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23

This is a Psalm of life and the Lord is telling me here that if He is my Shepherd, I shall want for nothing. I will have the joy of running barefoot in the pastures and sitting with Him beside the still quiet waters, that I will feel His peace and if I allow Him to He will restore my soul. He will guide me though the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. The  darkest valleys, even facing death and as long as I am holding His hand, I will have nothing to fear.

If I stray He will use His staff to bring me back into the foal. Correction isn't easy to go through, but sometimes it is necessary.  Any parent out there knows that sometimes you need to reign your children in, give them a time out or even a swat on the bottom.  It isn't fun but it helps them to learn how to be a better person.  The good part is Jesus loves us enough to discipline us with His love.

He even prepares a beautiful table for us in the presence of our enemies.  When I was going through chemo therapy, He never left my side.  Some of the days I wept with joy when I  thought it would never have been possible.  God is good all the time!!!  My cup overflows with His love and forgiveness!

Because the Lord is my Shepherd I will not want for anything. He provides for me, protects me, leads me and stays with me through every part of my life.  None of us have to face life alone.  Just reach out to Jesus.  He is so good all the time.  I hope you all have a Simply Heavenly day!!!
