Word of the Day... January 7, 2013

When people sin, they earn what sin pays - Death. Romans 6:23

Sin does to life what scissors do to a flower. A cut at the stem separates a flower from the source of its life. Initially the flower is attractive, still colorful and strong. But if you watch that flower over time, the leaves will wilt and the pedals will drop. No matter what you do, the flower will never live again. You can surround it with water stick the stem in soil. Fertilize it. Glue the flower back on to the stem. Do anything you wish. The flower is dead. It will never come back to life no matter what you do.

It is the same for us. Cut off from God our soul will wither and die. The consequence of sin is not a bad day or a bad mood but the sign of the dead soul is clear: poison lips and cursing mouth, feet that lead to violence and eyes that don't see God… The finished work of sin is to kill the soul.

Unlike that flower, which can never find new life, we are so lucky to have the free gift of salvation that Jesus offers each and every one of us!!!  I know it is Monday, but it is still a day that the Lord has made so lets all go out there and give them Heaven!!!  Have a Simply Heavenly Day!!! :):)
