Word of the Day... January 3, 2013

Living the New Life
16 Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom He gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts. 17 And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:16-17

As a Christian we are saved by grace through faith. We know that grace is a free gift that we don't deserve and we cannot earn. It is God's grace that sanctifies us and justifies us. How do we mature as a Christian and grow in grace? We grow in grace by reading the Bible and letting that Word dwell inside of us and by praying.

I love to spend my first hour every morning in the word and prayer with the Lord. I can't begin to tell you how much I've grown as a Christian as a result of this one hour every morning when Jesus. I start my morning with prayer. This is a really precious time for me to talk to the Lord and thank Him so much for all that He has done in my  life and in my family’s lives.  Sometimes it's just being still and knowing He is God and then allowing him to move as God in my life.

Maturing in our Christian life is not about what we do, but all about what God does in us, through His grace. Understanding and applying God's grace in our lives is important. Grace is the attribute of God that enables us to break free of our sinful nature and follow him. It gives us strength and protects us. Without God's grace, and His favor, we would be hopelessly lost in this world. The more grace we have and ask God for, the more mature as Christians we will become.

So as you go out in the world today, let Christ’s light within you shine brightly! Make sure that you keep your lamps filled in anticipation of His soon return (Matt.25:1-13)!!! I hope you haven't Simply Heavenly Day! God bless you!!!

Hi Kelekia,
Thank you for sharing this. One of the things that I want to do is to know and memorize more Bible verses so I don't have to look them up when I am in need of them.
I'm already a follower from the Aloha Friday Blog Hop.
