Instructions for
Christian Households
20 Children, always obey your parents, for this pleases the Lord. 21 Fathers, do not aggravate your children, or they will become
discouraged. Colossians 3:20-21
Fathers don't provoke and discourage your children. As
fathers, sometimes you need to make sure that you are being reasonable with the
children, taking the time to explain things to them. Don't put unreasonable demands
on them and hide behind the adage: “because
I'm the dad, that's why”.
As parents, we often put unreasonable demands on our
children, and expect them to live up to impossible expectations. Our
unreasonable expectations will only lead them to frustration and discouragement;
When what they really need from us is
our love and acceptance of them.
Being a good parent is the toughest job you will ever
love and it goes by so quickly. It is as if you have simply turned around and
they are grown. I have always believed that children are given to us on loan
from God and He charges us with the awesome responsibility of raising them up
in Him. I hope that all of you who have
children look at them with new eyes and realize what a great gift you have been
given. I hope you have a Simply Heavenly
weekend!!!
