And now the prize awaits me; the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of his return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to his appearing. – 2 Timothy 4:8

Word of the Day... October 30, 2012

The Dangers of the Last Days
1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! 2 Timothy 3:1-5

I don’t know about you guys, but I see so much of this in the world today.  People rarely even give the Lord a thought unless they are in trouble and then claim they hate Him or He isn’t real when they don’t get exactly what they want from Him.  Contrary to what they believe, Jesus is right there with them through it all even in their unbelief and frustration.

God is not someone who sits in Heaven and waits to fill our orders.  He is the Lord God Almighty.  I believe that He answers every prayer of the believer and He gives us exactly what we need to have the opportunity to move into a closer relationship to Him.  Then the ball is in our court and it becomes our choice to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our life and draw us ever closer to Him, or not to. We ultimately have the choice of what kind of a walk we have daily with Jesus.  We can spend time in prayer talking to Him and reading His Word or we can try to straddle the world and Christianity.  By the way that never works. You cannot serve two masters for you will love one and hate the other.  Then you end up feeling empty and alone.

Time is short and Jesus is coming soon whether you like it or not.  Get right with the Lord now while there is still time. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God and ends in misery. The Bible says that disobeying God results in being separated from Him.  Our attempts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried many ways to bridge this gap and reach God – without success.  I believe that each one of us has a little puzzle piece in each of our bodies that only the love of God can fill.  We try to fill it with all kinds of things like sex, boyfriends, children, drugs, alcohol, education, clubbing, partying and everything else that you can think of.  The thing is nothing fits right in there.  Only God can quench the longing of your soul.

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:3-6

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you took the pain of the cross to give me new life. I ask you to come into my heart and to give me your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive you now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow you and to serve you all my life. Thank you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again! Enjoy the fullness that a close relationship with Jesus gives to each one of us.  Have a wonderful day and may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you!!! :):)

Word of the Day... October 29, 2012

I AM ABOVE ALL THINGS:  your problems, your pain, and the swirling events in this ever changing world.  When you behold My face, you rise above the circumstances and rest with Me in heavenly realms.  This is the way of peace, living in the light of My Presence.  I guarantee that you will always have problems in this life, but they must not become your focus.  When you feel yourself sinking in the sea of circumstances, say “Help me Jesus!” and I will draw you back to Me. If you have to say that thousands of times daily, don’t be discouraged.  I know your weakness and I meet you in that very place.
                             Ephesians 2:6                                       Matthew 14:28-32

Word of the Day... October 28, 2012

14 And we are confident that he hears us whenever we ask for anything that pleases him. 1 John 5:14

Prayer was never intended as a vehicle by which I get my will done on earth.  Prayer is when I cooperate with God so that His will can be done on earth.  Even Jesus prayed: “Not as I will but as You will” (Matt. 26:39)

I have an agreement with God.  If I ask God for anything that is not according to His will, I want Him to just ignore it.  Even if I get upset and pout and complain, ignore it!

Sometimes I may think that I know what is best for my life, but I have discovered that God really knows best.  So there is tremendous confidence that comes when I pray in God’s will submitting my concerns to Him.

Word of the Day... October 27,2012

Oil and perfume make the heart glad,
so a man's counsel is sweet to his friend.
Proverbs 27:9

How valuable are the relationships that you have with people?  How much time over the past few months have you spent developing your relationships with and really enjoying other people?

I think that relationships were very important to Jesus. He spent a lot of time with the twelve Apostles. They ate together, wept together worked together  and I am so sure that they laughed together.  Being God He really didn’t “need” those men.  He also didn’t need the problems that they created for Him on occasion.  I believe that Jesus really loved them and believed in them. Just as He does each and every one of us that ask Him into our heart to be our Lord and Savior.

This next week as we go about our lives let’s really enjoy our relationships with other people.  We can be like Jesus was when He walked here.  Not telling people how to live their lives but showing them through our own.  With fun, kindness, service and love. Let’s keep in mind that we are “imitating God” for His Son certainly did.

Word of the Day... October 26, 2012

Anyone who continues to live in him will not sin. But anyone who keeps on sinning does not know him or understand who he is. 1 John 3:6

When I first look at this verse it is disturbing to me because I know as a human that I am going to sin. Does this verse mean that I have to live a “perfect life” to really know God?  No the word for “sin” is in what is called in the Greek the “linear present”  What John is saying here is, you can’t just continue to sin, as a pattern of life, and think you are a Christian.  It is not that we don’t sin at all, because we do.  It is just that the pattern of lives is to grow away from the old sinful habits; and though we will still make mistakes and may fall on occasion, our lives have changed.  That when we look at our lives now there is an observable pattern of repentance.

I hope that all of you have a wonderful weekend and remember to keep Jesus as the center of everything!!!  God bless you!!! :):)

Word of the Day... October 25, 2012

Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment—to love one another—is the same message you heard before. Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining.
If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness. 10 Anyone who loves another brother or sister is living in the light and does not cause others to stumble.11 But anyone who hates another brother or sister is still living and walking in darkness. Such a person does not know the way to go, having been blinded by the darkness. 1John 2:7-11

I have found that if I want to have a healthy walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, I need to let go of this world. I cannot straddle both worlds and remain a Christian. Whether you believe it or not the world’s system is under the control of Satan.  He is the god of this world.  You cannot be attached to this world and its values and still love God.  If we are guided by the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life we are making the conscious choice to follow Satan the god of this world and we are turning our back on the one true God.

If we truly love God we will turn away from the allure of this present world system and we will live our lives serving Him.  I hope all of you have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.. October 24, 2012

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin 1 John 1: 5-7

Are you an “Almost Christian”?

There are many people that profess to know God and have fellowship with Him, yet they are walking in the darkness, contrary to the commands of God.  They are only fooling themselves.  The idea that you can have fellowship with God without turning away from a life of sin is a lie.  When we have real fellowship with God it changes us from within.  I can have a wonderful prayer life and “feel” very close to God, but I am living a lie if I am not also turning away from sin.  It is not a true fellowship with the Lord Jesus.  I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!!

An adulterous woman consumes a man,

19 They promise freedom, but they themselves are slaves of sin and corruption. For you are a slave to whatever controls you. 2 Peter 2:19

Whatever it is that takes control over your life, you are in bondage to it.  As Christians, we are slaves to Jesus Christ.  We have accepted Him as our Lord and Master.  We have willingly submitted ourselves to Him.  And we’ve discovered that to be a slave to Jesus Christ is much better than to be a slave of Satan or to be a slave to our own flesh.
In becoming a slave to Jesus Christ, I am free.  I have a glorious freedom in Jesus because I am no longer forced by my lusts to do those things that were destroying me!

Nothing can separate you from My love.  Let this divine assurance trickle through your mind and into your heart and soul.  Whenever you start to feel fearful or anxious, repeat this unconditional promise:  Nothing can separate me from your love, Jesus.
Most of mankind’s misery stems from feeling unloved.  In the midst of adverse circumstances, people tend to feel that love has been withdrawn and they have been forsaken.  This feeling of abandonment is often worse than the adversity itself.  Be assured that I never abandon any of My children, not even temporarily.  I will never leave you or forsake you!  My Presence watches over you continually.  I have engraved you on the palms of My hands.

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered. 1Peter 3:7

Word of the Day... October 17, 2012

A man's pride will bring him low,
but a humble spirit will obtain honor.
Proverbs 29:23

Humility isn't a show we put on; in fact, if we think we're humble, we're probably not.

We live in the day of “ME” how can I assert “MYSELF” How can I promote “Me”.  It has become a world of what can I get for myself and not what can I do for others. This world is one that magnifies the flesh.

A truly humble person will look at how to serve others.  I love the part of the Bible where Jesus washes the feet of His disciples.  Peter was shocked by what Jesus was doing and told him “no you can’t wash my feet” and Jesus told him "If I do not wash you, you can have no part of Me." A servant is no greater than his Master.  I love the example Jesus gives us through this Word.  That we are to be servants and we have the greatest example of what it is to be humble through the example that Jesus gives us.

To build up rather than to tear down, to serve rather than being served, to be open to learn from others rather than clamoring for the teaching stand.

How very blessed are people who learn this early in their lives…  I hope you all have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.... October 16, 2012

Learn to listen to Me even while you are listening to other people.  As they open their souls to your scrutiny, you are on holy ground. You need the help of My Spirit to respond appropriately.  Ask Him to think through you, live through you, love through you.  My own Being is alive within you in the Person of the Holy Spirit.  If you respond to others' needs through your unaided thought processes, you offer them dry crumbs.  When the Spirit empowers your listening and speaking, My streams of living water flow through you to other people.  Be a channel of My Love, Joy, and Peace by listening to Me as you listen to others.

Exodus 3:5        1Corinthians 6:19            John 7:38-39

For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. – 1 Thessalonians 2:4

Word of the Day... October 14, 2012

You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: “He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”?

Thirty Four Years Ago Today I Married The Love of My Life...

Thirty four years ago today my husband and I were married and I have to say that I love him more today then all those years ago...

Marriage is such a beautiful joining of the lives and families of two people....

We've Only Just Begun.....  White Lace and Promises..

Our marriage ceremony was  so beautiful....
It started with prayer and communion.  Jesus was a very important part of our marriage and new life together.

Vows were said before God and men....

Then Rings were exchanged as a token of our love..
Then He kissed me the first time as his bride!!  I can still remember that kiss!

We are man and wife!!!  This was the most relaxed picture of the day...

This was my last picture as a single woman.....

Newlyweds!!!

If it is possible I love him more now then I did that day thirty four years ago...

God made us plain and simple,
but we have made ourselves
very complicated.
Ecclesiastes 7:29

Everything around us works against reordering and simplifying our lives. Everything!
Ours is a cluttered, complicated world. God did not create it that way.  Depraved, restless humanity has made it that way!

Advertisements have one major goal: to make us discontented, woefully dissatisfied with who we are and what we have. Why? So we will acquire what they offer. And acquire we do! The watchword of our consumptive society is very loud and assertive---more!

Enough is never enough. . . .

Not only do we acquire . . . we keep, we accumulate. Furthermore, we don't simply compete . . . we are driven to win, always win. And not only do we want more, we must spend more time maintaining those things. Staying ahead of that maddening pace leaves us so strained, fretful, breathless.

Surely, God is not the author of such confusion
.  Have a wonderful day!!! :):)

Word of the Day... October 11, 2012

26 If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. James 1:26

Christianity is not a religion.  In fact it is the opposite of religion.  Religion tells of man’s endeavor to reach God.  With religion you have finite man on earth trying to touch an infinite God in heaven.  That is simply impossible!  You can never start with a finite being and reach an infinite one.  Christianity is an infinite God reaching down to earth to touch man.  “For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son”. (John 3:16)

Religion tells us that man can reach God through works.  Christianity tells us man can never reach God through works.

One day people asked Jesus, “What shall we do that we may work the works of God?”  Jesus said, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent”. (John 6:28-29) Your work cannot bring you into a relationship with God.  A relationship with God comes solely from receiving God’s love and trusting in God’s provision for your sins.  I hope that all of you have a blessed day in the Lord Jesus!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... October 10, 2012

Pride goes before destruction, and
a haughty spirit before stumbling.
Proverbs 16:18

Have you ever considered what drives us and pushes us to prove to everyone that we are worthy?...Yup you guessed it…  PRIDE.   One little word that can do so much damage.  I can do it all by myself….  God helps them that help themselves… Just Do It!!!...  By my own strength, power and ingenuity… We all work in the world with these goals in mind.  Believing that as we strive we shall receive.  Not because our Lord is able to meet all of our needs but that we can do it ourselves.  When we believe the nonsense that the world pours out to us daily that pulls us further and further away from our Lord. These are blatant lies that the world wraps up in their pretty little packages and spoon feeds us through the media daily. These are the things that will lead us to believe that we don’t need the Lord’s righteousness and that we can find true joy in our own achievements.  That these things will bring us the ultimate satisfaction. These are lies from the pit of hell.

These are dead end roads that will lead us away from the grace of God and living in His fullness.  As a Christian I have to remind myself every single day that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.  That it is not of myself but through the Lord Jesus Christ.  I have made the choice to turn the television off.  To just do it!!!  Instead of allowing the world to pour its garbage into my mind, I will spend the time in the Word of God releasing all of my worries to the Lord Jesus.  I just love sitting quietly in His Presence and allowing His light to soak into me and drive out the darkness lodged inside of me.  To rejoice in the day that the Lord has made and to allow Him to free me from all of the fear that is hiding inside of me. To learn to thank Him in all circumstances.  To learn to rest in His Sovereignty and to leave everything in His capable hands.  Thank you Jesus!!!  Have a blessed day!!!

As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are My ways higher than your ways,
and My thoughts than your thoughts.
Isaiah 55:9
We could study the Bible day and night and never fully understand God’s ways.  We will never be able to see everything clearly.  They are beyond our comprehension and remain a mystery to us.  I have found that in my own life there are so many things I don’t understand and I just have to stand on my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word to get me through each day.

I believe that the Lord will reveal to us what He wants us to know when He wants us to know it.These can be very scary times that we are living in, yet I would not change where the Lord has placed me in time for anything. All of the saints longed to be born in the time that we are in.  We have been chosen as the anchor in this relay race that started over two thousand years ago.  We need to run this race to the finish line!!!  If we keep our eyes on Jesus he will lead us all to victory. The very best part of it all is that He will be with us all through this race even until the end!!!  I hope you all have a blessed and happy day!!! :):)

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. – Philippians 4:8

In Your presence is fullness of joy;
in Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
Psalm 16:11

I know of no greater need in the world today than the need for joy. Unexplainable, contagious joy. Outrageous joy.

It is when we get that kind of joy that we get the chance to experience everything that comes with it, like enthusiasm for life, determination to hang in there, and a strong desire to be of encouragement to others. Such qualities make our walk in this world bearable.  Especially when we go into the valleys where we encounter hardship that tend to demoralize and paralyze.

There is nothing better than a joyful attitude when we face the challenges life throws at us.  There is no better place to get the joy of the Lord, then at the feet of Jesus Christ!!!  Have a great Saturday!!!

Word of the Day.... October 5, 2012

I am Creator of heaven and earth: Lord of all that is and all that will ever be. Although I am unimaginably vast, I choose to dwell within you, permeating you with My Presence. Only in the spirit realm could Someone so infinitely great live within someone so very small. Be awed by the Power and the Glory of My Spirit within you!

Though the Holy Spirit is infinite, He designs to be your Helper. He is always ready to offer assistance; all you need to do is ask. When the path before you looks easy and straightforward, you may be tempted to go it alone instead of relying on Me. This is when you are in the greatest danger of stumbling. Ask My Spirit to help you as you go each step of the way. Never neglect this glorious Source of strength within you.

John 14:16-17; John 16:7; Zechariah 4:6      Jesus Calling

Jesus didn’t leave us as orphans.  He left us The Holy Spirit!!!  The power of the Holy Spirit is awesome to behold and if we allow Him to take over our hearts and minds our walk with Jesus Christi will be like nothing we have ever experienced!!!  Trust the Holy Spirit to move like a mighty Wind through you. Talk to Him and allow Him to reveal the Word to you.  That is why He is called the Helper.  Trust Him to help you through every part of your life.  God bless you and have a great weekend!!!

YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERSIf I am truly your Master, you will desire to please Me above all others.  If pleasing people is your goal, you will be enslaved to them.  People can be harsh task-masters when you give them this power over you.
If I am the Master of your life, I will also be your First Love.  Your serving Me is rooted and grounded in My vast, unconditional Love for you.  The lower you bow down before Me, the higher I lift you up into intimate relationship with Me.  The Joy of living in My Presence outshines all other pleasures.  I want you to reflect My joyous Light by living in increasing intimacy with Me.

Never take for granted My intimate nearness.  Marvel at the wonder of My continual Presence with you.  Even the most ardent human lover cannot be with you always.  Nor can another person know the intimacies of your heart, mind, and spirit.  I know everything about you even to the number of hairs on your head.  You don't need to work at revealing yourself to Me.  Many people spend a lifetime and a small fortune searching for someone who will understand them.  Yet I am freely available to all who call upon My Name, who open their hearts to receive Me as Savior.  This simple act of faith is the beginning of a life long love story.  I, the lover of your soul, understand you perfectly and love you eternally.
Luke 12:7; John 1:2; Romans 10:13
