3 You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.5 “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. 8 By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.Love and Joy Perfected9 “As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.11 “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full. I can almost hear Him say take my hand and don't worry I've got you covered. I start each day as a separate journey holding onto Jesus hand and learning to trust Him. Its not always easy. In the world we are conditioned to believe in ourselves and to trust in our own ways. However, I am becoming aware that the Lord's power flows more freely through me when I acknowledge my weakness. It is in that weakness that I have begun to realize that Jesus is my strength. I am so humbled by His great love and patience with me. I can almost hear my Lord say it is when you are weak that I am strong. I love this Scripture in Jude 1:24-25:
to Him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious Presence without fault and with great joy - to the only God our Savior be the glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forever more! Amen.I learned something new this week while reading the Bible. I need to ask the Holy Spirit every day for a refill. When I do this it creates a strong connection and His power flows into me continually. It gives me the strength that I need to get up every single morning and start fresh. I can keep walking with the Lord one step after another that's all He asks of me. He gives me the strength that I need to resist discouragement and defeat. The strength to completely depend upon Jesus. It is when I completely depend upon Jesus and I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. Even when the path is a rocky and steep, it is still the path of my life. My journey with the Lord Jesus.
This past week the Dalai Lama came to Hawaii for a visit. Everyone was so excited to see him and everyone was calling him His Holiness, much like they do with the Pope. I couldn't help but think yes he is a good man of peace, but at the end of the day he is just a man. People were bowing to him as if he were a god. Some people bowed down to him as if they were worshiping him. He met with thousands of people in the Stan Sheriff Center at the University of Hawaii. I couldn't help but think where is the separation of church and state here. If it were Billy Graham coming to Hawaii to speak about peace, or to urge us to pray for peace, he would never be allowed to speak at the Stan Sheriff Arena because there is a separation of church and state. The last time I checked the Dalai Lama is a "religious leader." It just seemed like such a double standard.
The First Commandment came into my mind. "Thou Shall have no other gods before me." Jesus is God. Unlike all of the other gods that peoples from all over the world worship. Jesus Christ went on that cross at Calvary and took on all of the sins of the world and died on that cross... But, it didn't stop there. Three days after Jesus Christ died and was buried he arose from the dead and walked on the earth. Scripture presents conclusive evidence that Jesus Christ was in fact resurrected from the dead. Christ’s resurrection is recorded in Matthew 28:1-20; Mark 16:1-20; Luke 24:1-53; and John 20:1–21:25. The resurrected Christ also appeared in the Book of Acts (Acts 1:1-11). From these passages you can gain several “proofs” of Christ’s resurrection. First is the dramatic change in the disciples. They went from a group of men frightened and in hiding to strong, courageous witnesses sharing the gospel throughout the world. What else could explain this dramatic change other than the risen Christ appearing to them?
If Christ were not raised, then where is His body? The disciples and others saw the tomb where He was buried. When they returned, His body was not there. Angels declared that He had been raised from the dead as He had promised (Matthew 28:5-7). Fourth, additional evidence of His resurrection is the many people He appeared to (Matthew 28:5, 9, 16-17; Mark 16:9; Luke 24:13-35; John 20:19, 24, 26-29, 21:1-14; Acts 1:6-8; 1 Corinthians 15:5-7).
None of the gods from any other religion can say that their leaders arose from the dead. You can visit their graves. When you go to Jesus Tomb, it is empty! He is not there!!! Jesus is the Risen Lord!!! He is coming again and I for one am looking anxiously for His coming. If you do not know Jesus ask Him into your heart today.
