Word of the Day... December 13, 2012

9 Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing. 10 For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. 2 Corinthians 7:9-10

Paul had written letters to the people of Corinth that was pretty harsh, pointing out many of the serious problems that existed in their church.  At first he did not want to write these letters because he knew that it would hurt them.  But he pointed out that, although it had caused them sorrow, that sorrow led to their repentance.
Being really sorry for your sins is a good thing. But the real question is, “Are you going to change”?  To repent means to change your directions.  Is that what you do after feeling sorry for your sins?  If not, your sorrow means nothing because Godly sorrow produces repentance.
I hope that in the hustle and bustle of this Christmas season that you take a little time out of each and every day to spend with Jesus.  He truly is the reason for the season.  I promise you that if you spend some time with Him, He will change your life!!! God bless you!!!
