Word of the Day... November 30, 2012

Come to me for all that you need.  Come into My Presence with thanksgiving, for thankfulness opens the door to My treasures.  When you are thankful, you affirm the central truth that I am Good.  I am the Light, in whom there is no darkness at all. The assurance that I am entirely Good meets your basic need for security.  Your life is not subject to the whims of a sin stained deity.

Relax in the knowledge that the One that controls your life is totally trustworthy.  Come to Me with confident expectation.  There is nothing you need that I cannot provide.

Psalm 95:2  1John 1:5

Word of the Day... November 29, 2012

I love the LORD, because He hears my
voice and my supplications. Because He
has inclined His ear to me, therefore
shall I call upon Him as long as I live.
Psalm 116:1-2

Do you ever find yourself saying something like this?

"Lord, I give You my life, but I'm weary to death of this irritation, this person, this circumstance, this uncomfortable situation. I feel trapped, Lord. I want relief... I must have relief! And if You don't bring it soon . . . well, I've had it. I feel like walking away from it all."

You may walk, my friend, but there are no shortcuts.

He has a much better plan: Reach out and take the hand of Jesus and never let go! He knows the way, because He has been there before.  Trust in Him and refuse to worry, for He is our strength and our song.  Don’t measure difficult times against your strength, measure it against His!! Though heaven is in our future, it is also with us each day as we walk in the light of Jesus Christ!!!  I hope you have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!!  :):):)

Word of the Day... November 28, 2012

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:1-5

Word of the Day... November 27, 2012

You need Me every moment.  You awareness of your constant need for Me is your greatest strength.  Your neediness, properly handled, is a link to My Presence.  However, there are pitfalls that you must be on your guard against:  self-pity, self pre-occupation, giving up.  Your inadequacy presents you with a continual choice  deep dependence on me, or despair.  The emptiness you feel within will be filled either with problems or with My Presence.  Make Me central in your consciousness by praying continually:  simple, short prayers flowing out of the present moment.  Use My Name liberally, to remind you of My Presence.  Keep on asking and you will receive, so that your gladness may be full and complete.

Word of the Day.... November 26, 2012

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything
by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known to God.
Philippians 4:6

Anxious. It literally means "to be divided" or "distracted." . . . When we hear this word what comes to our mind?  Martha and Mary are the perfect example of this in Luke 10:38-42.  Martha is excited to have Jesus in their home is she is very busy making sure that everything is perfect.  As she looks into the next room she sees her sister Mary sitting at the feet of Jesus.  She is soaking in all of His great teaching and enjoying fellowship with Him. Martha was irritated with Mary because she was able to spend quality time with Jesus and Martha was busy cooking.

Jesus didn’t care about the meal.  He cared about Martha.  He would have preferred to of had a simple dish so that He could have enjoyed time with her.  I think we have all had this happen in our lives and we get angry and anxious with different things happening in our lives.  We need to take time out for Jesus.  Take all of our cares to Him in prayer and thanksgiving.  He really does love us and wants to be the center of our lives.  We just have to allow Him to.  I hope you have a wonderful Monday!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... November 25,2012

1  God is our refuge and strength,
always ready to help in times of trouble.

So we will not fear when earthquakes come
and the mountains crumble into the sea.

Let the oceans roar and foam.
Let the mountains tremble as the waters surge!

4 A river brings joy to the city of our God,
the sacred home of the Most High.

God dwells in that city; it cannot be destroyed.
From the very break of day, God will protect it.

The nations are in chaos,
    and their kingdoms crumble!

God’s voice thunders,
    and the earth melts!

The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress.

8 Come, see the glorious works of the Lord:
See how he brings destruction upon the world.

He causes wars to end throughout the earth.
    He breaks the bow and snaps the spear;
he burns the shields with fire.

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.”

11 The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is here among us;
the God of Israel is our fortress. Psalm 46:1-10

Word of the Day... November 24, 2012

All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any. 1 Corinthians  6:12

As a Christian, I have been set free from the bondage of the flesh and the slavery to sin.  I have the most incredible liberty.  How much more free can you get than to say, “All things are lawful for me”?  But Paul says that he wouldn’t exercise his freedom in a way that would bring him back into bondage.
I am so free in Jesus that I can do whatever I want.  But I don’t want to do anything that would make me a slave to sin again.  I think it would be foolish if, after being set free, that you would sell yourself into slavery again.  “I will not be brought under the power of any.”  I hope that you all have a great Saturday and that the Lord blesses you richly.

Word of the Day... November 23, 2012

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 31-39

Word of the Day.... November 22, 2012

A thankful attitude opens the windows of heaven.  Spiritual blessings fall freely onto you through those openings into eternity.  When we look to the Lord with a grateful heart, we can get glimpses of glory through these windows.  Thankfulness is not some sort of magic formula; it is the language of love, which allows us to communicate intimately with the Lord Jesus.  A thankful mindset does not deny all of the problems that exist in our lives today, rather it rejoices in the Lord in the midst of the problems.  He is our refuge and our strength and our ever present help in times of trouble.

I hope that all of you have a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving Day!!!!

Word of the Day.... November 21, 2012

32 Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32

As the Holiday season is upon us I think it is nice to reflect on how very kind the Lord is to us.  It can be really hard in the hustle and bustle of this holiday season to lose ourselves.  We are so busy doing everything for everyone that we lose sight of what it is to be kind to ourselves.  I know we are filled with faults and sin, but we have a Father who has forgiven us and I think that Thanksgiving is the perfect time for us to let it all go and forgive our self.  It is when we do this that our relationship with the Lord and with other people will soar.
The Bible tells us that the Lord remembers our sin no more.  We are forgiven!!!  What a great gift that is!!!  I think it is the perfect gift to give not only to our self but to everyone one else.  It is when we can truly let go and see our self through the eyes of the Lord that we will be free to love others the way the Lord intended us to.  What a gift He has given us to kick off this holiday season so that we can truly be His salt and light in a dying world.  So let’s get out there and be His little light and let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!!!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Word of the Day... November 20, 2012

Rest in My Presence when you need refreshment, resting is not necessarily idleness, as people often perceive it.  When you relax in My company, you are demonstrating trust in Me.  Trust is a rich word, laden with meaning and direction for your life.  I want you to lean on, trust, and be confident in Me.  When you lean on Me for support, I delight in your trusting confidence.

Many people turn away from Me when they are exhausted.  They associate Me with duty and diligence, so they try to hide from My Presence when they need to break from work.  How this saddens Me!  As I spoke through My prophet Isaiah:  In returning to Me and resting in Me you shall be saved;  in quietness and trust I shall be your strength.

Proverbs 3:5 Amp.             Isaiah 30:15 Amp.

Word of the Day... November 19, 2012

God made us plain and simple,
but we have made ourselves
very complicated.

This verse is so true. We as humans always try to make things much more complicated than they need to be.  As the holidays are approaching I have decided that I am going to clean up some of the clutter in my life and as I began in my home, I noticed that I started to justify keeping so many things that I should really just toss out.  Everything around us works against reordering and simplifying our lives. Everything!!! Ours is a cluttered, complicated world. God did not create it that way. Depraved, restless humanity has made it that way!
I was listening to the advertisements and I started to think, I could use this or wouldn’t that be nice.  Advertisements have one major goal: to make us discontented, woefully dissatisfied with who we are and what we have. Why? So we will acquire what they offer. And acquire we do! The watchword of our consumptive society is very loud and assertive We need more!  You can never have enough!
Not only do we feel that need to acquire, but we keep it and then we accumulate even more!  Then we feel the need to compete and I am talking a real need to win at all costs. Not only do we want more, but we find ourselves spending more money and time just to maintain all these things!!!  Staying ahead at this maddening pace is crazy!!!  I find myself screaming….”Stop the world I want to get off!!!”
Thank goodness I have Jesus!  He is not the author of confusion.  Sometimes I really can feel Him just telling me to stop, don’t let all of this stuff get in the way of our walk together.  There are too many things that interrupt your awareness of ME!!!  Don’t be a slave to the stimuli of the world. Awareness of ME can continue in all circumstances, no matter what happens.  Just rest in Me.  I have designed you to need me moment to moment and I will be there to help you.  Just take my hand and I will lead you through this maze of confusion into My peace that passes all understanding.  All I can say to that is Thank you Jesus!!!  I hope that all of you have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!! :):)

Word of the Day.... October 18, 2012

13 “You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.  Matthew 5:13- 16

Word of the Day... November 17, 2012

If anyone is in Christ,
he is a new creature,
the old things passed away;
behold, new things have come.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Since I have found Jesus as my Lord and Savior, this scripture is one of my favorite sources of joy!  I am a new creature in Jesus!!! Tell me does it get any better than this?
When I talk to different people, many times they will tell me that they have a hard time letting go of their past sins and find that freedom in Christ Jesus. Some of the unhappiest people I've ever known are living their lives looking over their shoulder. What a waste! Nothing back there can be changed.  You can’t go back and change any of the stupid things that we have done in our past though all of us would like to. We can either choose to wallow in the past and act as though we are not freed from that sin. Likewise with guilty feelings, we can accept the fact that we are forgiven in Christ, or we can believe the devil’s lie that we are still guilty and should therefore feel guilty.

What's in the past? Only two things: The great joys and accomplishments of our life. . . or our failures and defeats that cannot help but arouse feelings of guilt and shame. Why in the world would anyone want to return to that embarrassing position? I've never been able to figure that one out.  By reliving those inglorious, ineffective events of yesterday, our energy is sapped for facing the demands of today. Rehearsing those wrongs, now forgiven in grace, derails us. There are few joy stealers more insidious than past memories that haunt our minds. . . .   So stop it!!!  Stop wallowing in past failures.  I love what the Bible tells us that when God forgives us, He “remembers our sins no more". This does not mean that the all-knowing God forgets because He forgives us. Rather, He chooses not to bring up our sin to Himself or others. When our former sins come to mind, we can choose to dwell upon them (with the resulting guilty feelings), or we can choose to fill our minds with thoughts of the awesome God who forgave us and thank and praise Him for it

So let it all go into the hands of Jesus Christ!!!  It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. I hope that all of you have a blessed and happy weekend!!!  Get out there and be the light of Jesus Christ to this dark world that we live in.  Time is short and Jesus is coming soon!!!  Maranatha!!!

Word of the Day.... November 16, 2012

6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
“May they prosper who love you.
7 Peace be within your walls,
Prosperity within your palaces.”
8 For the sake of my brethren and companions,
I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9 Because of the house of the LORD our God
I will seek your good. Psalm 122:6-9

Israel is the greatest ally the United States has in the world today. During this time of crisis in the state of Israel, it is imperative that we stand with our friend and ally, Israel. We must make it clear to the enemies of Israel that we will support Israel as she seeks to protect her people.  Let us all lift her up to the Lord and pray for the peace In Jerusalem.  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... November 15, 2012

I will strengthen you, surely I will
help you, surely I will uphold you
with My righteous right hand.
Isaiah 41:10

Sometimes it when we have failed miserably that the Lord gives us the opportunity to be brought low enough to learn what God has in store for us.  Many times we get so caught up in the world that it is really hard to keep focused on Jesus. It is when we are in the valley that He meets us right where we are and through it all we learn to depend upon His love.
Through all of our ups and downs, our victories and our failures, through the brilliant days of accomplishment and the broken days when nothing we try seems to work. Through the heady days of laughter, success and those horrible days when we can’t seem to maneuver through the setbacks and the darkness of despair.   Through it all He is teaching us.  Through it all He is leading us, humbling us and preparing us for what is to come.  We need to hold tightly to His hands and never take our eyes off of Jesus.  He knows what is ahead and He will lead us back into the light of His life. Have a blessed and wonderful day!!!

Word of the Day.... November 14, 2012

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:1-2

As Christians, we should present our bodies to the Lord as a living sacrifice, instead of being conformed to this world.  This world is becoming more pagan all the time, and is programming us to think in a certain way.  But the Lord wants us to renew our minds daily so that we can walk in His Word, His Will, and His Way.  This is not an easy task and will take sacrifice .

We will need to deny our flesh of some of the things that it wants to do, knowing that it is unfruitful.  We will have to give up some of our time wasting activities in order to spend time in the Word and in fellowship with the Lord in prayer.

So what is the payoff for this sacrifice?  Being Holy and “acceptable to God”.  There should be no higher goal for a child of God than to please our Lord.  It is just the right thing to do.  I believe that when we do the Lord will bless us richly!!!!  Have a wonderful day!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day.... November 13, 2012

My soul takes refuge in You;
and in the shadow of Your wings I will
take refuge until destruction passes by.
Psalm 57:1
I think that when we worry we are only wasting our time and our energy. So why as Christians do we worry?  I think that inside each one of us we have a quiet hidden love for worry.  We enjoy it.  When one worry is gone we replace it with another.  Worry, worry, worry, there is always another just waiting at the door to get in.  We enjoy entertaining these worries they become our mental and emotional companions.
But Jesus says, in effect, that they're worthless.  The Lord has designed us to need Him moment by moment. It is when we become aware of our neediness for Him that we will begin to realize His abundant sufficiency.  He can and will meet all of our needs without draining His resources at all. It is when we approach His throne of grace with a thankful heart that He will give us His peace that passes all understanding.  Have a blessed and happy day in the Lord!!!

Word of the Day... November 12, 2012

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “ ‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matthew 22:36-40

I love this scripture!!!  Imagine how the world would be changed if each and everyone of us followed these two commandments.  I want to start with me.  I hope you all have a happy and blessed day!!!

10 For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens.
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Psalm 57:10

Merciful is our Lord and Father!! His kindness is unbounded towards His children.  This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us all rejoice and be glad in it!  For He is mercy!  He is Love! He is kindness! Rejoice in Him and the life that He has given to each one of us. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Sunday!!! God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... November 10, 2012

Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 35-39

What does it mean to be more than a conqueror?  A conqueror is one who goes to war, fights a battle, and wins.  To be more than a conqueror is to go into battle having already won, going in as a victor.  And that is what we are.  Satan has already been defeated.  There is no condemnation for us and no way for us to be separated from the love of God.

Death can’t beat us, demons can’t beat us, hard times don’t threaten us, and we can’t lose because of the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.  We enjoy the battle because we know the outcome.  We know that we already have won!!!

I hope that you all take time out for Jesus today.  Spend some time talking to Him and reading His Word.  It really makes such a difference in how we face everything that comes our way when we are “in” Christ Jesus!!!  Have a wonderful day!!! God bless you all!!!

Word of the Day.... November 9, 2012

Struggling with Sin
14 So the trouble is not with the law, for it is spiritual and good. The trouble is with me, for I am all too human, a slave to sin. 15 I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate.16 But if I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. 17 So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

18 And I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. I want to do what is right, but I can’t. 19 I want to do what is good, but I don’t. I don’t want to do what is wrong, but I do it anyway. 20 But if I do what I don’t want to do, I am not really the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.

21 I have discovered this principle of life—that when I want to do what is right, I inevitably do what is wrong. 22 I love God’s law with all my heart. 23 But there is another power within me that is at war with my mind. This power makes me a slave to the sin that is still within me. 24 Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? 25 Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. So you see how it is: In my mind I really want to obey God’s law, but because of my sinful nature I am a slave to sin. Romans 7:14-25

I know that in my own life I want to do good and instead I end up doing the things that I hate.  It is when my flesh gets in there that I always end up sinning.  I think that this is a struggle that is inside of every single person who is trying to lead a good life.  We want to do the right things, we are determined to do them, we really want to stop doing things that are wrong.  But there is a battle going on inside of us, and we often end up doing the things that we hate and neglecting the things that we really want to do.  It always makes me feel horrible inside.

We cannot fix this on our own.  We are unable to reform ourselves.  We need outside help.  Jesus comes along just in time and if we allow Him to He will come into our heart as our Lord and Savior and set us free!!!!  I hope all of you have a great Friday and a blessed and happy weekend!!!  God bless you!!!

Word of the Day... November 8, 2012

Fix your hope completely
on the grace to be brought to you
at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:13

Imagine coming to the house of a friend who has invited you over to enjoy a meal. You finish the delicious meal and then listen to some fine music and visit for a while. Finally, you stand up and get your coat as you prepare to leave.

But before you leave you reach into your pocket and say, "Now, how much do I owe you?" What an insult! You don't do that with someone who has graciously given you a meal.

Isn't it strange, though, how this world is running over with people who think there's something they must do to pay God back?

Somehow they are hoping God will smile on them if they work real hard and earn His acceptance. But that's an acceptance on the basis of works. That's not the way it is with grace. . . .

God smiles on us because of His Son's death and resurrection. It's grace, my friend, amazing grace.  ~Charles Swindoll~

Word of the Day... November 7, 2012

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth. 1 Timothy 2:1-4

The Election is finally over and the votes have been cast.

President Barack Obama has been reelected as the President of the United States of America.

We as believers need to remember that God in control of all events that happen in our world.

God reminds us in the book of Isaiah,

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.”(Is.46:10)

Now is the time to Pray for our President for the great challenges that he will face in the days ahead.  God bless you all!!!

Faith Brings Joy

Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Because of our faith, Christ has brought us into this place of undeserved privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory.
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
Romans 5:1-5

I love this scripture because it shows us how we can have peace in our daily lives.  Before we became Christians we were at war with God.  We rebelled against the laws of the Lord because we felt they were too restrictive.  We bought into the lies of Satan because he made sin seem so attractive to us.  He blinded us to the fact that sin was destroying us.  So we fought against the Lord,  not realizing He was trying to save us.  We knew that we were at war, but we didn't know we were fighting against God.

Then Jesus told us, "Come to Me and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28).  It is when we surrender to Him and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, that we realize that the war is finally over.  I am no longer fighting against God.  Then we are so blessed by that peace that He gives us.  That peace that passes all understanding!!!  There is such rest knowing that God is on my side!!!  Have a wonderful day walking in the light of Jesus!!!  God bless you!!! :):)

So what makes us think we can escape if we ignore this great salvation that was first announced by the Lord Jesus himself and then delivered to us by those who heard him speak? – Hebrews 2:3

"Following Jesus is not an event. Following Jesus is a lifestyle. Jesus exampled His lifestyle to us so we can live even as He lived. Jesus said, "Those who believe on Me, the works that I do, they will do also, and even greater works, because I go to My Father" - John 14:12.

Word of the Day... November 3, 2012

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? Romans 2:4

Everything that God does in our lives is designed to bring us to repentance.  Our only hope is that we turn around and change directions from the natural bent of our flesh.
People often mistake God’s forbearance and longsuffering for tolerance or indifference.  Because of God’s patience and love, they get the idea that He doesn’t care about their sin. But the purpose of His goodness is to turn us around.  God loves you more than you could ever realize; and in spite of what you are doing, He patiently allows you the time and the space to repent.
However, there will come a day, make no mistake about this, when God will judge.  If we respond to His goodness by repenting of our sins, the Day of Judgment will be a time of rewards and celebration. But if we ignore His goodness and refuse to repent, we will face the wrath of God.  God bless you!!! :):)

10 “Be still, and know that I am God!
I will be honored by every nation.
I will be honored throughout the world.” Psalm 46:10

Just be still….  You have run far enough and are weary.  You have stood long enough. You have pushed and fought the good fight for too many years. God has finally grabbed your attention and is telling you to “Quit! Stop! Let Me handle it”.  It is time to just stop and give it all over to the Lord.  Put all of your worries and cares into His capable hands.  After walking so long in the hot desert, look at where He has led you.  Right to His still waters.  Refresh yourself in Him.  Drink from this fresh water, where you will never thirst again. Be contented and drink deeply.  Rest in His loving arms... Just be still and know that He is Lord.
