Word of the Day... October 30, 2012

The Dangers of the Last Days
1 You should know this, Timothy, that in the last days there will be very difficult times. For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred. They will be unloving and unforgiving; they will slander others and have no self-control. They will be cruel and hate what is good. They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride, and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that! 2 Timothy 3:1-5

I don’t know about you guys, but I see so much of this in the world today.  People rarely even give the Lord a thought unless they are in trouble and then claim they hate Him or He isn’t real when they don’t get exactly what they want from Him.  Contrary to what they believe, Jesus is right there with them through it all even in their unbelief and frustration.

God is not someone who sits in Heaven and waits to fill our orders.  He is the Lord God Almighty.  I believe that He answers every prayer of the believer and He gives us exactly what we need to have the opportunity to move into a closer relationship to Him.  Then the ball is in our court and it becomes our choice to allow the Holy Spirit to work in our life and draw us ever closer to Him, or not to. We ultimately have the choice of what kind of a walk we have daily with Jesus.  We can spend time in prayer talking to Him and reading His Word or we can try to straddle the world and Christianity.  By the way that never works. You cannot serve two masters for you will love one and hate the other.  Then you end up feeling empty and alone.

Time is short and Jesus is coming soon whether you like it or not.  Get right with the Lord now while there is still time. Since the beginning of time, we have chosen to disobey God and go our own willful way. We still make this choice today. This results in separation from God and ends in misery. The Bible says that disobeying God results in being separated from Him.  Our attempts can never unite us with God. Through the ages, people have tried many ways to bridge this gap and reach God – without success.  I believe that each one of us has a little puzzle piece in each of our bodies that only the love of God can fill.  We try to fill it with all kinds of things like sex, boyfriends, children, drugs, alcohol, education, clubbing, partying and everything else that you can think of.  The thing is nothing fits right in there.  Only God can quench the longing of your soul.

3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” 4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second into their mother’s womb to be born!” 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. John 3:3-6

If you want a new life in Christ Jesus, ask Him into your heart today.  Simply pray this:  Lord Jesus Christ, I believe that you took the pain of the cross to give me new life. I ask you to come into my heart and to give me your peace and joy. I confess that I am a sinner that I have gone my own way and have done wrong. Please forgive me for my sins. I receive you now as my Lord and Savior. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to follow you and to serve you all my life. Thank you, in Jesus name I pray, Amen.  If you prayed that prayer you are a new creature in Christ Jesus!  You are Born Again! Enjoy the fullness that a close relationship with Jesus gives to each one of us.  Have a wonderful day and may the Lord Jesus Christ bless you!!! :):)
