Take Time To Smell The Water...

I was listening to a Pastor speak to a prostitute today and my eyes were opened up by what I heard.  She told the Pastor that she had never chose to be a prostitute and would love to get out of the "life".  Then she told the Pastor, when I walk into your church your people never let me forget where I came from.  When I heard that it broke my heart.  As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ that should never happen. We should be welcoming to all who enter the church no matter where they come from. We should look at everyone as we would like them to look at us.  look at them as Jesus would.   I was reading the Bible today and found the most wonderful scripture.
9 Yet at the scent of water it will bud
And bring forth branches like a plant. Job 14:9
In this scripture I see the Lord as the water and us as the plant.  We are so hungry for the love of God that just the scent of His water will make us grow.  This is how the church should be in these last days.  We need to be so full of that water that they are attracted to that scent the pure love of Jesus Christ.

As a Christian I had to take a hard look at myself and see if I am looking at people with the eyes of Jesus.  When I was reading the Bible I came across one of my favorite scriptures:
7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.” 8 And again He stooped down and wrote on the ground. 9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. John 8:7-9
When watching the Passion of the Christ this scene in the movie moved me so very much.  It brought the scripture alive in my heart and made me want to apply it in my own life.  The Bible says that we should be doers of the word and not just hearers.  In my walk with Jesus I want to be so filled with the Holy Spirit, that the Lord will allow me see with His eyes, hear with His ears and speak with His words.  If even one person finds their way to Jesus Christ as a result of that, then this life is worth living.  I want to be that little plant in the garden that is sniffing just for a whiff of the scent of the Water so that I might grow strong in the beautiful love of our Lord Jesus Christ!
