My Blue Hawaii....

This is Hanauma Bay in Honolulu, Hawaii it is one of the most beautiful places I think on earth.  I am lucky to live nearby here and many of you might remember this beach from the Elvis movie "Blue Hawaii". I can remember sitting in the Bay Theater in Ballard and watching this movie.  I dreamed that someday I would be able to go to Hawaii and go to that very beach!  Here I am!  God is so good!  I really don't understand how people can look at such beauty and still believe that God doesn't exist.  He does and he is coming very soon!

Today I listened to Pastor Guy Kapeliela from Hope Chapel Olomana.  He is one of my favorite pastors to watch because he is so down to earth and his sense of humor is so great!  Today his topic was on developing a healthy response to rejection.  We all feel rejection from time to time but we have to keep our eyes on the prize.  We have to copy Jesus Christ.  He never lost sight of what his purpose and destiny was while here on earth.  He was humble and never had a pity party.  I have to admit that there have been many times that I have had a pity party and missed out on the blessings that God has for me because of it.  When I have a pity party I also miss out on doing the work of the kingdom and I will be "usedless" not useless. Have you ever had your car run out of gas on the road? You aren't going to throw the car away because it has stopped. You can kick the tire scream and yell but until you get some gas into that car you can't use it. It is useless to you.  As a Christian I need a fill up every morning.  I get that when I open my bible, pray and get into God's word.  It is my "Breakfast of Champions"!

We need to become "Kingdom People" as a child of God we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us.
"Once having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, "The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is' because  the kingdom of God is within you". Luke 17:20-21
When we are living as kingdom people we get closer to Jesus through his word and begin to fulfill our own destiny.  When we lower our "self esteem" and raise our  "God esteem".  We leave ourselves open to all of God's blessings. There is no other love that compares to the love of Jesus.  When we stay close to him and listen for his voice and follow his instruction, we will be fulfilling our own purpose and destiny!

dis is de most amazing butiful pictour I hav eva seen. I not from ameryca but dis is lurvley

I love this image, so blue and beautiful. I am a full blooded American Christian woman honey and I think this pastor might be somewhat deceiving. perhaps it's my perception of what his message is that is wrong. It is good that we be recognized as Christians everywhere we go, but to have such a thing happen, people will be labeled both positively and negatively. I think it is more important to do God's work, even when we are NOT getting recognition for it. To do it when people aren't looking, to pray when no one is around. Christianity isn't about showboating or saying hey look at me I'm a Kingdom of Heaven person...no it's doing what is right and morally just ALL the time, even when people aren't lookin! That's what Joel Osteen preaches and that's more of my own belief system. I love your blog normally though, this post just worries me doll

This is what you said"When we are living as kingdom people we get closer to Jesus through his word and begin to fulfill our own destiny. When we lower our "self esteem" and raise our "God esteem". I have nothing left to add to this, what you said above says it all!! God Bless!

The pastor has a last name that sounds like "liar" ...need I say more? What a shame, for I normally enjoy your posts. Pretty image though.

Hanauma Bay on the island of Hawaii looks beautiful!! it is truly a place God designed to perfection!! Bless you!

I agree with the above comments, this pastor sounds like he's trying to deceive his people. Being a Christian shouldn't just be so that you can get recognition for being one, it should be in your heart and actions, whether or not the masses of the world realize it.

i heard this in church today

So know matter what happens, that looks like it's the end to your dreams (you have no idea how you're dream will happen anymore), it could be the needed rest spot, on the road to your dream, that will make your DREAMS even bigger!!!

God is good all the time

I read the post and the comments, though this pastor doesn't seem to be the brightest, I don't think he's trying to say that we should all get labeled and do it for the fame. It seems from what the writer is saying, that he says we shouldn't worry about rejection, we should worry more about how we act and what God and Jesus think of us because it is their holy opinions that matter and no one elses.

Beautiful blog and photo darling! Don't quit. Some of the people on here just have no sense of reading comprehension.

This is what you said"When we are living as kingdom people we get closer to Jesus through his word and begin to fulfill our own destiny. When we lower our "self esteem" and raise our "God esteem". This is in a nutshell what Pastor was talking about. It has nothing to do with recognition. It has to do with putting "self" on the side and keeping your eyes always on Jesus.

Sometimes faith can feel like you're running on a treadmill. You run and run and run and still you aren't getting anywhere and sometimes it makes you want to give up.

Faith can seem that way, sometimes you believe and do good and still you suffer or nothing good happens, have faith, good is coming!! Like running on a treadmill, the results aren't immediate, they are cumulative and long-term but being healthy of body and faith both will pay off in the end and you will be happy and balanced!!

God bless you sister, are you a preacher? You should be! I have a ministry in a small Ohio town and I love your sentiment. May the Lord bless you in all you say and all you do!

Thank you Matilda! God bless your heart you got it!!

Sally,
Thank you! No I am not a preacher. Just a woman who has been blessed by God and very lucky to be alive! God Bless you too!

Again, less about you, more about Him.

Anonymous @5:25 what exactly are you trying to say? Less about her and more about God? Enlighten me on how one could accomplish this? This is why I worship the Lord alone because there are jerks like the anonymous commenter that believe there is only one right way to do things and chastise you for doing anything different. This is a blog people, the writer's blog is a day to day dictation of her life, experiences and her faith. How God has inspired HER is an essential element of it all so the whole More Him less You thought is just irrelevant. The only way you can get more Him and less You is by immersing yourself in reading the Bible.

I like this blog, the writer and the content. Keep it up Kelekia!

Wyatt,
How refreshing to have a Christian mans point of view! You really get the whole point of my blog. I am not a preacher nor I am I a teacher. This is just what you said. My day to day walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for your comment and may God Bless you richly!

Blue Hawaii indeed!! You just made that bay and the island of Oahu my summer vacation destination!! God and his greatness must have taken some detailed time creating such a place!! Bless you.

Hi Terri! What a beautiful photograph! This is my first visit to your blog from the Aloha Friday Hop. I'm glad you get to live where you always dreamed to live. I read a few of the comments and I was wondering how you cope with reading everyone's opinion. Stay close to God and let the peace and witness of His Spirit keep your path straight and your feet from stumbling.

God bless!
Tina - mom of 4, author and blogger of 5 blogs

Sometimes it gets to me but mostly I just rejoice because they are getting Jesus here and that is always a blessing!!! I will follow you back. God bless you Christina!!!:):):)
