~I want To Be Under The Spout Where The Glory Comes Out!~

I hope that all of you had the best Mother's Day!  Mine started of with a relaxing cup of coffee and time with my Lord.  Then I was treated to a mini spa day with a manicure and a pedicure.  It was so relaxing.  I felt pampered and loved.  Then I just did some shopping and came home and my husband had the most beautiful flower arrangement waiting for me.  He is simply the most romantic man I have ever known. Later that day he treated the whole family to dinner at Chai's Bistro at the Aloha Tower Marketplace.  The food was excellent!  They had everything from crab, shrimps, raw fish, to coconut prawns and chicken curry Thai style. There were lamb chops in a cherry sauce, salmon lox with cream cheese, raw oysters, crab cakes, ribs, and many more items.  I ate mainly the king crab legs, the salmon, raw fish, shrimp, raw oysters, prawns and the coconut prawns.  It was so enjoyable spending quality time with my family and the grandchildren.  A big thank you to my honey for his generous nature and loving heart.

Last night I had such a nice time walking in the evening with my daughter Jean.  She is so uplifting to me.  I praise God for her every single day.  As we strolled we talked about giving everything up to the Lord.  Our time, dreams, and future.  Sometimes we wonder why things don't come out the way we had dreamed.  I believe that if we don't pray and than wait to hear what God has to say....That last part is the most important....then we open the door to let other people and the world dictate what our dreams should be instead of letting God take the lead and bless us more then we ever dreamed possible!  We need to do what God has anointed us to do and not what the world wants us to do.  Hmm how can we tell if we are doing what God has anointed us to do you ask?  Well if you are living in joy, peace, rest,  prosperity and have great relationships then you know you are doing what God has anointed you to do.  If you are not then you seriously need to get on your knees and take it back to Jesus.  I love this scripture.  Notice that God says ALL WILL BE WELL WITH YOU.  Not just some things but all things.  But this thing I did command them: Listen to and obey My voice, and I will be your God and you will be My people; and walk in the whole way that I command you, that it may be well with you (Jeremiah 7:23).

I just love it when God is in control.  I don't have to have a care or worry when He is in control.  Sometimes I find in my life I just have to clear the clutter out of my brain, turn the TV off and have quiet alone time with God.  That is when you are going to hear him.  If you are lucky enough to live near a beach go take a walk and let Him clear your head so you can hear what He has in store for you.  When you do hear Him and start to obey what He wants you to do, everything seems to just fall into place.  I can remember one of my favorite little lines I heard came from Oral Roberts wife.  She said " Somethings are caught, somethings are taught, you need to get under the spout where the glory comes out!"  I thought that just about covers everything.  I want to be under that spout when the glory comes out and so I will stand in faith on God's word and make sure my head isn't going to block the spout, listen for God's voice and then just be covered in His glory!

Tonight I am going to make mushroom chicken for dinner.  I buy my chicken at Whole Foods because their chicken is organic and hasn't been filled with antibiotics or other garbage just to make the chicken fatter.  I will make enough for eight people because I think my son will be over tonight when he finds out whats for dinner.  I buy sixteen pieces of chicken both thighs and breasts.  I brown them quickly in just a little olive oil.  Then I place them in a large casserole dish.  Then in the same skillet I add 1 sliced onion, (I slice in rings and cut the rings in half), 2 cloves of garlic chopped and saute until they are translucent.  Then I add about a pound of sliced mushrooms and saute them until they cook down a bit. Then I add kosher salt, and pepper to taste.  After that I add about one half of a bottle of white wine.  I think Chardonnay tastes very good with this.  You want to pick a wine that is good for drinking to use in your cooking.  The wine will help me to get all the bits off of the pan to add more flavor to the sauce.  Then I add 1 small can of fat free low salt mushroom soup and 1 can fat free low sodium cream of chicken soup and one cup of good chicken stock.  Then I stir it until it is creamy and has a gravy like consistency.  Pour all of this goodness over the chicken, cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Make a pot of rice to go with this.  I usually use a hapa rice.  Hapa rice is half brown and half white rice.
I think tonight I will make corn on the cob to go with this.  I found some fresh corn on sale so I think it is going to go great with this.  Clean the corn and cut the cobs in half.  Place them in a large pot and just cover them with water.  Then add 1 cup of fat free half and half.  It makes the corn so sweet you won't believe it!
That is all it takes and voila you have a beautiful dinner with very little effort.  Some fresh fruit for dessert would be the perfect ending to this meal.  I hope you try it and I am sure that your family will enjoy it as much as mine does!

Man I am starving! That sounds so good. I like that saying, Im goin to get under the spout where the glory comes out. Im going to use it. Love how you make God fun again.
